Dr Alice Roberts, en av mina absoluta favoriter bland kolbaserade tvåbentingar :-)

Good for you, Dr. Alice Roberts! Please, we (our species) need to have our most well educated and qualified educators and scientists stand up to these mythical ideas of our planet and us.

An amazing book - we all think that we know the process but as Alice shows it's more incredible - and hair raising - than most of us can even imagine. An exciting read.

How old would a child need to be to understand & enjoy this book?

@@gilbrook If the child were intellectually curious, I'd say early teens would be a good age.

does science explain any part of the question of whether a person (embryonic) can possibly have had a choice in conception or being born or being the fastest swimmer as a spermatozoa, or the best finder of the egg … ? If we did have a choice, it means that we chose to be born, perhaps by default to the particular parents to whom we became conceived.

I am the last one to be calling for state governance in education but they are there, so now its time to apply its force to combat the growing influence religion is regaining the school curriculums around the world. Basically if the true science of the day is not taught regardless of the institutions religious tilt then that curriculum is deemed incomplete and insufficient and gets no funding by public funds. The act of withholding information to prevent a population the rite to make informed decisions is unforgivable in the modern era. I am ADHD/Dyslexic and I could have hidden under the ignorance of ignorance but I have chosen that it is better to understand the world round me, not attribute that that I don't understand to a higher power. I'm sorry I do not mean to offend anyone I just believe that everyone deserves the rite to make an informed choice and not be dictated to and made to believe.

Well said , religion has no place in schooling , after school make your own decision from an improved knowledge of how the world works and not linking the two.

You know what Doc, I've been watching you since before you were famous. You were just a Lackie digging in a pit though I was constantly rewinding the video tape. 😍😍

Why is “ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny” nonsense when Alice goes right on to say “there’s something unfurling and rolling out” in embryonic development. What’s the difference between “unfurling and rolling out” and evolutionary development?
@souloftheteacher94279 ай бұрын
Not all unfurling and rolling out has to do with "ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny." It can refer to any kind of development.
