I agree there, we do need to know more, from the films it appears the Liquid was made for mutation, to create life as in the first parts of Prometheus. It was taken and reengineered to kill their creation (us) but weather it was intended to create the xeno is not clear, some people become hosts and some rabid mutant zombie like beings, the Xeno of the Engineers might have been a side effect that Humans keep stumbling across. I certainly didn't see a deacon in Alien : Covenant

Jovany Calderon yes the deacon, it isn’t a xenomorph. The xenomorphs only come from face huggers and a few versions of the pathogen.

KILLNOVA But the murals. The symbols on the wall has a xenomorph'ish creature in it. Earlier in the movie, not the scene at the end. Considering how many facehuggers and other nasty parasites they house inside the ship I could imagine they had encountered that type of creature before. Hence the mural.

@4:14. No... That's NOT the Engineer's home world. Not even close. Having just seen it, I feel I can safely say that there's no way those beings were Engineers. Best bet is that they are yet another creation of the Engineers, except they know who their creators are (Engineers), which is why they are looking up at the arriving Juggernaut with such adoration and expectation. There's no way that a race that had the kind of tech the Engineers had would come from a place like that. Something happened along the way so that Shaw and David didn't end up on the Engineers' home world. (And yes, I'm *still* waiting for a proper Engineers film...that I know I'll never get...called 'Paradise: Found'. Oh, hell; maybe I'll just write it myself.)

I think the Homeworld of engineers in Covenant is just a Rebel base. Rebels decided to end human race because they think humans (we) will eventually destroy the mother earth, which is the origin of all humans including Engineers, 250 billion years ago. (they have human DNA so their origin must be Earth.) I don't know why no one recovered the ship on planet in Prometheus which was lying there for 2000 years.

Good point. Also, the engineers probably didn't get "pissed off" at humans. They probably created human life to create something new from it, destroying humans in the process. Seems like their religion is a religion of creation.

OR (and this is only just an idea for continuity), the Engineers and Predators were at war and the Xenonorph was a bio-weapon developed by the Engineers. That is why both have knowledge of the species. The Engineers were ultimately killed by their own Creation, while the Predators (as natural hunters) put the species to sport for the ultimate challenge/ultimate prey to test their skills. David DIDN'T create the Xenonorph; he RE-created it based on the data and records he found in his 10 years stranded on Paradise. Never in Covinent is it implies David thinks he FOUNDED the Xenonorph species and he never specifically says it is HIS creation... only that he's obsessed with creating the perfect organism. This is why for example the Xenonorph was in the mural already in Prometheus. It already existed long ago as a Engineer creation. David is obsessed with doing the same and in his mind attaining 'perfection' as well. Just my opinion anyway lol :) But that's how they could all co-exist as plots/stories and races.

Actually, it can be simple to tie the two together. The bio-weapon that makes the neo-morphs, that can easily be over a billion years old, the predators, there already a highly advanced space faring race over 3000 years before humans get their start in space. What could have happen was that the predators discover humans, finding them okay hunting, and decided to guide them into being better worriers so they they could be a better challenge in battle. The Engineers find out, and get pissed off, as the humans move from being a peaceful race, to a more war like race, and so to correct that, the Engineers go to war with the predators, but only to get their asses kicked in the end. From there, the predators obtain the black goo, and experiment with it, and in the end creating their own variation of Xenomorph, in which they used on humans to make a better hunt. The clan doing this, not understanding the danger, eventually loos control, and gets wiped out. The tribe that replaces them, still seeing the Xenomorph as the best kind of hunt, but adopting in a less interference policy of lesser races, puts an end to the guiding of human civilization, letting them develop on their own. The predictor created Xenomorphs eventually die out, except for a few in controlled zones deemed acceptable by the controlling clan, one being on Antarctica, do to it being too cold for habitation. The events of AvP 2 jump start human technology, and lead to them getting space technology.

Izaac Wopz it's canon to the Predator movies. "Predator" leads to Predator 2 and is referenced in "Predators" while Predator 2 sets up the connection to Xenomorphs which is elaborated on in AVP & AVPR. Then, both Predator 2 and AVP are referenced in the newest installment "The Predator". All of this is a separate timeline from the Alien movies/prequels/sequels and the Blade Runner movies which are together in their own timeline (with Firefly/Serenity sincs they're shown using Weyland-Utani tech). The movies "Soldier" and "Event Horizon" also exist in the Alien/Blade Runner universe.

Totally a silly and stupid movie… If it wasn’t a sequel to Prometheus as Ridley Scott claims, then why does the movie’s trailer show and focus on David and Elizabeth Shaw’s journey to Engineer’s planet ‘Paradise’ using their space ship???!!! Just to fool us? The whole plot of alien covenant is based on stupid decisions made by the crew (just like Prometheus) …and David’s dream of creating… The essence of the story was altered from continuing ‘Elizabeth Shaw’ pursuit for finding the truth about the Engineers and why did they want to destroy humanity after they created it to the story of David’s dream of creating a life form-Xenomorph… It ignored the curiosity about issues relating to the Engineers, e.g. their ship and its technology, their planet which called ‘paradise’, their civilization and way of life into stupid boring usual alien/Xenomorph chase and kill which could have been only a secondary theme of the movie… I know Ridley wants maybe to show David and Elizabeth’ journey’s details and other stuff in his next movie ‘alien: awakening’ but why he’s using scenes of that journey in alien covenant’s trailer??? One important note in this movie is that the covenant is heading to a planet called origae 6 to have orgy sex with the aliens…and Ridley Scott will make many movies to explain how his alien was created when he could actually have explained that in a 10 mins scene!!! He wants us to wait years and years till he explains that when no one guarantees to live to the next week!!!

Nigoroth Predator 2 pre-dates Prometheus, and also... Prometheus shows an ancient depiction of a Xenomorph which would align with what was shown in AVP. AVP and Predator 2 are referenced in the newest Predator movie. They're connected. Perhaps there are just different breeds of Xenomorphs...ya know, like in the comics?

yes, i agree, AVP should be cannon. Scott is being stupid creating random stories that dont make sense with the whole alien world, not just AVP, but alien 2/3/4 all have queens... so i hope the queen is explained... if he cuts the queen out, then i will have to consider prometheus and covenant as non cannon, they are the ones that do not make sense with the rest. I hope scott has some master plan to make it all work, otherwise i think everyone thinks too highly of him and he should have retired after alien #1.

skywalkier I think it was due to the fact that he was stuck to (probably) a regiment or school of fighting. David wasn't, it's noted that he creeped people out because he thought for himself. That could make him adaptable in a combat scenario with another robot like Walter. It's a bit of a stretch, but that's what I think might have happened.

So er, my theory, maybe covenant contradicts this, but my theory was that the black goo that created the deacon was a bioweapon in that it took dna it was given and morphed it into a creature that would eventually create a xenomorph (Of which there are differing types based on the anatomy of the creature that births them) through a kind of sped up evolution. Now I think the xenomorphs that we're accustomed to in the alien movies are the unique sort that's based on our anatomy, although again covenant might contradict this, I haven't seen it yet. This is mostly based on the visual and anatomical similarities between a facehugger and the snake things that are created from the worms in Prometheus, and also the statues, or I guess it's the architecture, that shows the xenomorphs we know from the other movies. I'm looking forward to Covenant I also have a theory that it wasn't the engineers as an entire society that did all this but a crazy individual cult and they're basically just bigger, hairless versions of us but they got into biology and we got into technology, don't imagine that'll be explored in the movie either though. I do think it's possible that the Deacon is actually the queen alien from Aliens but I can't imagine how it would get between planets or how that ship got there.

Not as good as the first 2 Alien movies but i prefer to watch the timeline like this: Prometheus, Alien Covenant, Alien, & Aliens. I did not like Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection. I have enjoyed each of the movies, including 3 and Resurrection. I really am sorry it didn't go a different way but, we do not always get what we want, but if we try real hard, we get what we need....
