I'll never forget their silly 'Alien: Isolation' review, especially when they criticized it for being too difficult in a period when AAA games were pulling back on difficulty. Fast forward to today and From Software has everyone wanted to throw their controllers at the screen, and its a 10 out of 10. 'Alien: Isolation' was a masterclass in atmosphere with an addictive game-play loop. It certainly must've done something right if it inspired the director of of Romulus to go all in with this project!

Just got out of the movies. Sweet christ, the reveal of the grown Alien is by far the best reveal of an adult alien of all time so far. No spoilers here. But that scene alone was an absolute horror masterclass. The music, the visuals. The way it happened. There were multiple scenes in this movie ( 0 grav , warm room etc... ) that was so creative and tense. Somehow, he created new ways to take what we already know and make it into something more threatening. The end reveal though was straight from his love for Evil dead.. That stuff was straight up nightmare fuel.
