1. Aliens 2. Alien 3. Alien 3 (underated gem) 4. Covenant 5. Prometheus 6. Romulus 7. Resurrection I argue with everyone about Alien 3. For years I hated that one. But the more I see these other story lines the more Ive come to appreciate Alien 3. Secretly underrated. Romulus did not do justice to the xenomorph at all. Clumsy and unintelligent. Thats far from what they are. 6/10

It is about the increasing attitude towards delaying gentrification of oneself, wellbeing, healthcare, present nowadays in our society, either that or the obsession to look and be perceived young as long as possible. Up until this century it was the other way around, people got to try to look serious in their 20s. This casting represeents our perception of the way our adult life in our 20s would or should look, not how, diegetically, young adults should look on a mining and terraforming colony. They should look, maybe a bit older, definitively more tired. Who knows, maybe face features regression is some sort of evolutionary asset that makes us still uphold reproductive "availability" and desirability in this late stage of tiresome, stressful capitalism, just around the curbe. People who were wondering why the cast looks so teenage like young (including maybe those that might have seen the first movies as youngsters), got to thinking that prime time working class individuals in their 20 would look like people in their 30 now look. It was a little bit more realistic.

Disagree. Even the engineers don't understand the full potential of the black goo. The use they could think of it was to use as a weapon. Weyland could very well have no control of it, what we do know is that humans share the similar genetics as xenos and engineers just restructured. So it wouldn't be stretch to assume that this is what happens to someone who injected with the goo/has fetal chest burster/pregnant. Now why the hell it didn't mutate Kay baffles me.

Okay Theory time, I remember in the beginning Tyler says "I know my COUSIN can be a dick" which he refers to Bjorn who was being mean to Andy. Later Kay mentions to Rain that her Baby Daddy is "Some Asshole" right, I'm thinking maybe its Bjorn. Why I say that is because when he gets back up and tries to stop Kay from making sound when the Xeno was hatching in the entrance, they make this weird like connection like they're together(Bro strokes her face). Kay is Tyler's sister we can conclude that I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm open to whatever but like wouldn't that baby be a result of Cousin Incest/Xeno/Engineer? I say this because I've seen the movie Barbarian, the monster has the same body structure of the Incested Monster too. Again, correct me if I'm wrong. The original was a slow burn/ suspenseful movie, and Alien 2 more action packed and others were decent. The new one is not bad either but mostly more of the same. They tried the slow burn again, but we already knew what was coming, unlike the unknown shock of the original(s)..Still glad i went to see it but true fans of the franchise will definitely see what i mean..guaranteed.😏( i am curious though what they'll do with the hybrid creature in the inevitable sequel..maybe their chance to do something different)🤔...Makes you kinda appreciate the Promethius and Alien Covenant movies for their different take.

I think its not a true sequel to Alien. Its a mix of sequel and reboot for younger kids these days. Tough job. I thought the first 3 mins were promising but too many call backs later on and the one thing that really bothered me was that the Xeno's looks small isch. When andy landed on the Xeno in the shaft, it looks tiny. When compared to Alien or even Alien 4. I felt they weren't imposing enough. Overall still a fun movie. 7/10.

I thought that was the whole point of this movie to actually show us how the alien got to the planet and then planted more eggs etc, not to just show us another weird variation of the Xeno and for them to die like in the first movie. Where's the queen in this movie as well? We get no explanation as to what the movie point is other than "Oh yea here you go heres them dying again, and just moving off to another planet, you get to see a few aliens along the way as well but yea thats about it" . 5/10 overall. Because they lost them? As shown in the movie the Romulus station was destroyed, the samples are on the "Corbelan" With Rain on their way to Yvaga III. Rook wanted to save the samples at all costs with help of our protagonists but failed. And we dont know what Raine did with them upon arrival at her destination, or even if she ever got to Yvaga III in the first place. The whole ordeal was taking place 60 light years from earth so Rook probably found the nearest Wayland-Yutani mining colony and ploted the course with the decaying station for that colony in hopes he could lure someone from the colony to help him because it would take to long for a team from earth to reach him. So it's safe to assume these were the only samples of the compund and the only Alien specimens Wayland had in their posession.

Saw it last night. Not even close to the third best in the franchise. Obviously the first two cant be touched. But the first half of the movie was looking promising. Story line going along with Alien timeline. The synthetic reminiscent of the original. Then it all went to dog poo. They made the xenomorphs in this one stupid. The thing about the xenomorphs from the originals is that they were in fact somewhat intelligent. The face huggers were clumsy in this one as well. The colonial marines had a hard time handling two with weapons in Aliens. These kids were batting them around like beachballs on a sunday afternoon and there were a butt ton of them. Alien 3, Prometheus (albeit boring), and Covenant were all better. AVP better but I know its not a stand alone Alien film. Love the way they showed the older technology like the original movie. There was some good quality parts to the movie I loved. Just the last half and ending and wonky unintelligent xenomorphs killed it. I can go on and on nit picking the whole movie. Im just passing by throwing in my 2 cents. As an Alien fan Id suggest watching it. Basic movie fan, Id suggest watching it. So basically watch it. I think Alien fans will argue over parts but love it cuz well we are a Alien fans. The casual movie goer will love it or hate it. But will talk about it. Personally for me , wasnt my top 5. Definitely had potential though. 6/10

this reply made me laugh 😂 I feel pretty much the same way. The movie felt very watered down, like something more of a "greatest hits" type of film. It made me sad. Like it was a way to say goodbye to the franchise. Idk. I tried to tell myself that the face huggers weren't as strong bc they were genetically engineered, instead of hatching out the egg. Ya know just trying to make myself feel better with head cannon 😭. I actually think the ending with the hybrid saved the film. It made it its own thing. Without it, the movie would have no rewatch value.

*Question for those who already saw it: (below) I don't get where the company got all of those face huggers from. Big Chap wasn't a queen. There were no eggs in the Nostromo wreckage. So is there a Canonic reason, or is this just another creative freedom that will have to be retconned later?

I haven’t watched the movie yet, but in the first alien movie, the xenomorph showed the ability to morph human hosts into eggs so perhaps they allow this xenomorph to do that with some unwilling subjects? It’s just a theory but given it was in the first movie when no queen was present it’s a curious concept

@@Dragonlady141 Yes i think Xenos have the ability to create eggs by other means in the absence of a queen. And have the ability to create an egg with a facehugger able to create the queen.

the alien found in space was the dead alien hanging of the ceiling in the romulus lab, causing the big holes in the decks. the half dead bot Ash explained it.
