Disagree. Even the engineers don't understand the full potential of the black goo. The use they could think of it was to use as a weapon. Weyland could very well have no control of it, what we do know is that humans share the similar genetics as xenos and engineers just restructured. So it wouldn't be stretch to assume that this is what happens to someone who injected with the goo/has fetal chest burster/pregnant. Now why the hell it didn't mutate Kay baffles me.

It is about the increasing attitude towards delaying gentrification of oneself, wellbeing, healthcare, present nowadays in our society, either that or the obsession to look and be perceived young as long as possible. Up until this century it was the other way around, people got to try to look serious in their 20s. This casting represeents our perception of the way our adult life in our 20s would or should look, not how, diegetically, young adults should look on a mining and terraforming colony. They should look, maybe a bit older, definitively more tired. Who knows, maybe face features regression is some sort of evolutionary asset that makes us still uphold reproductive "availability" and desirability in this late stage of tiresome, stressful capitalism, just around the curbe. People who were wondering why the cast looks so teenage like young (including maybe those that might have seen the first movies as youngsters), got to thinking that prime time working class individuals in their 20 would look like people in their 30 now look. It was a little bit more realistic.

Okay Theory time, I remember in the beginning Tyler says "I know my COUSIN can be a dick" which he refers to Bjorn who was being mean to Andy. Later Kay mentions to Rain that her Baby Daddy is "Some Asshole" right, I'm thinking maybe its Bjorn. Why I say that is because when he gets back up and tries to stop Kay from making sound when the Xeno was hatching in the entrance, they make this weird like connection like they're together(Bro strokes her face). Kay is Tyler's sister we can conclude that I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm open to whatever but like wouldn't that baby be a result of Cousin Incest/Xeno/Engineer? ***SPOILER ALERT***was almost a total repeat on the original Alien and some of the other sequals....different characters but still heres just some of the similarities....spoiler alert..1) hybrid human/ Xeno..2)slipping into space suit to get rid of alien..3)evil robot/science officer ripped apart ( but still communicating evilness) ..4) other nicer android...5)female lead...6) impregnated crew member(giving birth to aforementioned hybrid creature...7) creatures in water ( this time only the face huggers)...8)Space ship on course to be destroyed...9)crew member smoking..10)Ripley like character learning how to use weapon....11) and of course potential acid burning thru hull of ship...all i can remember right now ( there was more)..but in short..seems made for a new audience that wasn't around when the other movies were made,or just hadn't seen them. The original was a slow burn/ suspenseful movie,and Alien 2 more action packed and others were decent. The new one is not bad either but mostly more of the same.They tried the slow burn again,but we already knew what was coming,unlike the unknown shock of the original(s)..Still glad i went to see it but true fans of the franchise will definitely see what i mean..guaranteed.😏( i am curious though what they'll do with the hybrid creature in the inevitable sequel..maybe their chance to do something different)🤔...Makes you kinda appreciate the Promethius and Alien Covenant movies for their different take.

I’m a true fan of this lore but still loving this new addition. It is the same plot but brings something new. My butthole clenched all the time. The character(although looking a bit too young) were not dumb like the covenant crew. Plus covenant is “new” to you ?? That was a pile of crap. Should toss it away from the franchise

I 100% agree. Did not care for the paint by numbees recycling of previous scenes in the franchise. The "get away from her... you bitch" moment was particularly cringe. Regarding the future... perhaps they will try and do a human-xeno hybrid character one is meant to root for. But done far better than Ripley 8 from Resurrection.

Yeah it was all a throw back. And I think the face huggers in the hall with the body temperature change looked fake. I feel like the magic and secrets of practical effects have died over time and it wasnt quite revitalized by this film. Good try and a decent film..but no cigar. I still embrace every alien movie and watch it hoping for a revelation. This film had no revelations it was all pure fever dream nostalgia.

I loved the movie, I loved the aesthetics and how they're going back to the original Alien roots. The one thing that bother me is how HARD they went on the references to the other movies, ranging from props that were in the original movies, sound bites, direct quotes from the movies and even direct frames from the other movies. It felt like a fan service movie that was trying to send a clear message: "hey, look, I'm cool like Alien and Aliens".

@@Mass-produced I agree there's so much more to Prometheus than just an alien movie.. but it can be related to alot more than just Christianity, llke Anunaki of Sumerians, greek mthology etc. In the Anunaki theory there was 2 alien brothers one of them kept us as slaves the other loved us and gave us knowledge by altering our dna... In Greek mythology Prometheus loved humans and gave them fire(knowledge) against Zeus will..... *Question for those who already saw it: (below) I don't get where the company got all of those face huggers from. Big Chap wasn't a queen. There were no eggs in the Nostromo wreckage. So is there a Canonic reason, or is this just another creative freedom that will have to be retconned later?
@Dragonlady1414 ай бұрын
I haven’t watched the movie yet, but in the first alien movie, the xenomorph showed the ability to morph human hosts into eggs so perhaps they allow this xenomorph to do that with some unwilling subjects?
