Enjoyed the shout out to the Aliens novelisation where the Xenomorph originally had a poison tail, which paralysed Gorman in the APC. Was supposed to be in the movie, but was changed to Gorman being concussed by the boxes falling on his head. :)

Just a heads up to anyone that plans to pick up the book, the scenario they're acting out here is the one demo'd at expos, and is called "Hope's Last Dance" (the title of the video is somewhat misleading). It differs slightly from the one in the book, which is renamed "Hope's Last Day". The MacWhirr character, for example, has a very different agenda in the book scenario than she does here, so she is far more antagonistic in this version. The more you know!

Loved every moment! Currently randomly generating my own planetary system in ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game to run future campaigns/cinematics in. So far in my first galaxy I got a Super-Earth that orbits a Red Dwarf star! Apparently its a farming planet.

@@VictoryConditionGaming Yep! I decided to call it "Thanatos" since planets in ALIEN are named after dark, foreboding stuff or Greek gods so I'd decided to combine the two. Feel free to use it in your future games. Take note that its terrain feature is flat plains of elephant grass! :)

I mentioned before how clever the dice mechanics are for this property, but am now also seeing how the combo of the buddy/rival system and the hidden agendas really provide tools for immersion.

I pre-ordered the game a few days after it was first announced. Love the Starter Kit. Haven't had a chance to play yet, but I'll be GMing soon. I'm EXTREMELY excited for the full version. I've loved the ALIEN series since I was a little kid asking my grandmother to buy me all of the old Kenner toys. Good shit. Channel subscribed!

I think there are some (small) mistakes though: - When you roll several 1s in the stress dice you don't make several Panic Rolls but only one. - When you retreat from close combat, there is no opposed roll with the alien. The PC rolls his/her mobility ability and if a success is rolled, he/she retreats.

There might have been. Dave is part of the team working on the game and he also ran demos of Alien at UKGE for Free League. Sometimes you play so much you might not remember everything. The most important thing though was we had a great time. That should always be the goal.

A bit late comment but I post it for these watching it these days as I’ve done. Re multiple K6 panic roll (1:24:00j I like it a lot, despite it is not RAW. It might be actually a very nice optional rule. For Hardcore game version. Re Retreat PC retreats in case of failure of the roll too, it then enemy has opportunity attack.

Hey guys I have recently got the start kit off of free league and I'm almost ready to start my first session but as you probably no the pilot Davis has this game mechanic called "drug use" and it isn't in the condensed rulebook you get with the starter kit I have picked up the full rull book from my retailers but I still can't find where the mechenic "drug use" is in the rule book at all can you please tell me what page it is in the rulebook or can you possibly give me a in detail overview of how the mechenic works its the only thing I'm not 100% sure works and it's holding me up from starting my first game session please please help me

John, you should be able to proceed without a fourth.

As far as the scenario, I believe Dave said it was possible it will be in a future supplement. Dave and Matt are both working on some of the mechanics and scenarios for the Alien RPG. Victory Condition Gaming I have and it looks amazing but I’m now a full time carer for my very ill wife so budget is extremely tight and that is a very expensive game lol. My gaming these days mainly consists of watching others on KZbin but it still brings me pleasure and I’m glad the hobby is so strong once again. I have a couple of solo games still in my collection for those rainy days. Thoroughly enjoyed this vid, I will be subscribing 👍

@@VictoryConditionGaming Lol MacWhirr is cold blooded and Singleton reaction to Holroyd being an android good stuff, I'm surprised the fire didn't scare it off forcing it to run through Singleton and into that room MacWhirr is in? I've always wanted to play a soldier that a noob when it comes to the aliens and if he lives will continue on to the next story, or a soldier that has dealt with them once before and was 1 of 2 or 3 that survived. Again hopefully survive to continue on :)
