I really love the Seiko vh31 movement. I've been wearing the Militado ML05 for about a little over a month and I can't seem to get it off my wrist. You made such a great point the vh31 really helps keep the weight down. The two watches I have that use the vh31 movement sometimes I forget it's on my wrist. Glad to see you back John! Excellent review of some really great watches.

Just ordered on the sale, nothing really new though. Had my eye on the aquatico hawk white full lume dial, an Addiesdive AD2102, just cos the dial is nice… oh and a couple of san Martin beads of rice bracelets and finally another Frucase 6+6 watch winder, they really are very impressive…. All a bargain.😊 Mmmmm, I have been looking at the quartz steelflier….. I’d love it in 43mm with the white and blue dial options….. fingers crossed!

He's back! Some very tempting picks there with the Militado probably being the stand out option (in my opinion) in terms of looks vs value. Really tempted to pick up the Proxima PX1703 as I've been eying it for a while and around €230 including taxes that probably around as cheap as I've seen it. However, I'm tempted by the Baltany you've shown and I also like the look of the S5044. So might be time to replace by Baltany S5033.

Still waiting for any brand to make a Murph homage in 40-42mm. Would go for the militado if it wasnt 38mm and all others i have looked at had been most 39mm. And that Welly Merck looks really cool.

Great to have you back! Always good to take breaks to refresh the inspiration. I was just thinking I need to switch my watch monitoring back to AE from Ebay...so this is perfect timing. I'm in the market for a AE version of the Vario tench watch but so far only Baltany have something similar (don't worry that was the totally random comment for this week). BTW looked the Cestrian field series in your short video, look forward to seeing more of that! Hopefully Thorn will work out that when they do a good product and you endorse it it benefits them more because you call out their less notable offerings. I've been looking at getting a thorn and I'm more likely to buy one you recommend because you don't gush over everything regardless of the quality rather than you giving everything rave reviews. cheers!

markings on the ML08 look different in different parts of your vid, some looking orange. how do they compare to that of the murph for lightness in the flesh?

Of course it doesn't...it's a modern quartz...and you're right! I don't know why as my 40 year old quartz watches are dead on. New ones just can't nail it. Drives me nuts but this one is close all the way around :)
