Good video, I’m a Pentecostal I’ve seen word of faith and positive confession in some churches. What I like to say it’s good to be positive it’s good to believe and speak for the best, but remember Paul said he had learned to be content in all things, sometimes God doesn’t give us what we want but what we need to grow and mature and it’s been my experience that growth comes in the valley more then on the mountain.

Exactly brother. My worship leader and I were discussing this very thing yesterday at church. There's a worldly "contentment" built on the material and a Christ centered contentment built on the transcendent trust we correctly place in Christ alone. It can be a difficult thing to be content when we're in those valleys but, not coincidentally, it's the surest way out. I grew up in a Pentecostal Holiness church, not a very positive experience for me. Hope it's been better for you, God Bless

God can and still does heal at times, but this is up to Him; also, unfortunately, many of those "name it and claim it" teachings misrepresent both God and what faith actually is. We should absolutely care about how we speak (*as the importance of speaking right is mentioned throughout Scripture), however, I think at least a certain amount of the prohibitions about simply speaking honestly in certain situations (ie admitting that you have pain or illness if you actually do etc.); are simply repackaged "christian-science" (* "new age"/"mind-science" teaching, that is actually NEITHER truly Christian, nor is it truly Science); this "mind-science" mixed with Pentacostalism produces a mixture (BTW, early Pentecostals at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1906) never embraced such so-called "mind-science" or "name it and claim it" teachings; but it seems they were much more Biblical at the time). Therefore, Pentecostalism and "name it and claim it teaching" are NOT automatically one, and the same thing.

@@1Corinthians6Verses9thru11 certainly name it and claim it is not widely taught in Pentecostal churches, but it is taught in “prosperity gospel “ churches. Pentecostals are just Christians that believe that the Power from on high is still available to the church, which encompasses many different doctrines, some good some not do good.

I had a boyfriend who was part of the “Christian” NAR/word of faith/positive confession. I told him I had hashimoto’s disease, and he would literally cover my mouth or speak over me not to speak that into existence. I also have bad eyesight, and he would “command” my eyes to heal/told me to repeat a Bible verse over and over. I’m glad I had enough of a Christ-based background so I didn’t believe that.

All this is everything I was taught for years. I grew up in this type of Charismatic movement, left for a time when I married my first husband, and, unfortunately, swung back to it when he abandoned me. I think I was particularly vulnerable then and found myself both sucked in deeper than ever to the "name it and claim it" teaching and more and more troubled that I "couldn't get it together" like those around me. I blamed myself for not being "spiritual" enough and tried to throw myself in more and more, only to wind up more deflated and discouraged than when I began. When a certain well-known evangelist visited our church, the atmosphere got that much more frenzied and disturbing. Something just kept nagging at me to search out why I was at such unrest. The next thing I knew, I was researching this speaker and others of similar mindset, checking things against the Bible to see what it actually said ( my church seemed to use the Word mostly to try to "activate blessings" and twist interpretations to meet their desires). And this research was like unravelling a sweater. Now, I had been taught about Jesus from the time I was a little girl and I wholeheartedly embraced that He died for my sins. But, so much was piled on to that truth, it was suffocating me. I just never really recognized it as such. Essentially, once I learned this, it quickly became urgent that the unbiblical stuff had to go before it consumed me altogether. I knew I could not stay where I was. It has been over 7 years now. I found a Bible-believing church that has helped me unpack everything I was taught for so long. It has been quite a process but so grateful to God He has allowed me to go through it. Thank you for speaking out in Godly wisdom on these things. The hypercharismatic movement and its majorly New Age influences are infecting more and more churches. People need to know the truth.

@@1john4six I watched the video and I' not sure who wrote the King James Bible; however, I'm pretty certain that Jesus didn't hand deliver to anyone in England, so here's just a little history about how we got the King James Bible..."In 1604, England’s King James I authorized a new translation of the Bible aimed at settling some thorny religious differences in his kingdom, and solidifying his own power. The actual translating (writing) of the KJV was done by a committee of 47 scholars and clergymen over the course of many years." Also, I 'm not real big on name calling, especially by Christians and calling Melissa a "witch" is wrong especially since there's no proof to back it up. Do I agree with everything she says no, but I do agree with the whole progressive Christian movement taking over the American church. Lastly, I don't know Melissa's heart that's between her and Jesus. But, because I read my Bible I do know that it was only the "super" religions people that called our Savior a whole bunch of names...demon possess (that's up there with witch), a drunk, a glutton, illegitimate, crazy, a sinner and a false prophet. And, it was the religion people that handed him over to be killed. Those stories are in every different version of the Bible that I have. I'm not trying to get into a KZbin comment war about the bible, and I appreciate you sending me the video and I did watch it and since neither of us will change our opinions, we'll just have to wait to get to Heaven to learn the truth. Peace and Blessings to you and your family.

The Law of Attraction is very much in the church. I'm a member of a Christian women's business group and they are mostly Charismatics. It's very common for people to talk about 'speaking things in to existence'. Also 'claiming' blessings is quite common. Decreeing and declaring is also a thing which makes me wonder where God's will is in all of this. They don't use the Law of Attraction language per se but certainly the doctrine of it is certainly there

It's so sad that people in this movement think that we are all "little gods" and we can manifest things into existence with our mind or words. While I do believe we should set our minds on heavenly things (Colossians 3) I don't think we setting our minds on those things or speaking them can bring things out of nothing. We are not little gods, we are lost sinners in need of a savior! Praise God that He is God and is God alone!! Soli Deo Gloria

The power of life and death is in the tongue. The Bible talks a lot about the fruit of the mouth, but it says nothing about getting whatever we want by speaking it. Our words have impact and can change things, but they don't have the power to create anything! Only God can do that.

Realize that there are two different types of believers in this world. There are those who understand scripture and who are growing in the knowledge and the blessings of God and there are the believers who are deceived and who will remain in sin and sickness their whole entire lives. Sadly more then 95% of believers fall into the deceived category and this is why scripture relates that only a remnant will be saved. “Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved.” Romans‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. Scripture relates that if we are ignorant of God’s laws and commands then we are living in sin. Scripture also relates that sin will bring sickness and suffering into our life since sin and sickness is of the devil. So if you are someone who can get sick or you currently have an affliction in your life then you are definitely living in sin and you certainly have fallen for the devil’s many lies. Sin and sickness clearly reveals that you are a deceived believer since it proves that you did not allow the Holy Spirit to teach you how to overcome your sin. “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭NKJV Many are deceived because they foolishly believe that they can never stop sinning or overcome sickness in this lifetime and they deny the very blessing that Jesus provided for everyone through His sacrifice and the gift of His Holy Spirit. Others like Charismatics and Pentecostals are deceived because of their misguided interpretations of scripture and so they basically believe that they are apostles who are able to cast out demons. Most believers are so deceived that do not even understand the differences between a Believer, a Disciple, a Christian and a Apostle and so I will now explain. First understand that every one of us is born in sin and in ignorance of God’s truth. EVERYONE! The problem with the majority of believers is that they will remain that way their whole entire lives since they are not comprehending what God related to us in scripture. Because they lack knowledge of scripture countless believers do not understand how to surrender their will to the Holy Spirit and so they never allow the Spirit to teach them how to overcome their sin and their sicknesses. When you first repent of your sins and you accept Jesus into your life you are now a believer but you are still deceived and ignorant about scripture since you have never been sanctified in truth by the Holy Spirit. This is why a believer will still possesses sin and sickness in their life since they still lack knowledge in the word of God. This is also why a new believer must understand how to surrender their will to the Holy Spirit so the Spirt can now teach them how to stop sinning. This purification process is called sanctification and it can only be achieved by understanding how to test the Spirits as commanded in 1 John 4. Sanctification will take years and it requires our faith, patience, suffering and endurance since the Holy Spirit teaches us how to overcome our sins. Once we learn how to overcome our sins we now have overcome our sicknesses since afflictions come from sin and the devil. Sadly the vast majority of believers never allow this process to occur since they are deceived in their beliefs and so they remain in their sin. Others will actually fall away during the sanctification process just as Judas certainly did and Jesus relates these various believers in the parable of the sower in Luke 8:11-15. There are not many believers who actually make it all the way through God’s sanctification process and this is why it is referred to as the narrow gate. “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ If a believer does surrender their will to God’s purification process they now become a disciple since they are now learning scripture directly from Jesus Himself. Jesus will now teach His disciple how to live just as He did since He now dwells inside His true children. A disciple means “a student who learns from his teacher.” This is why scripture relates that Jesus is our one and only teacher and this is also why the vast majority of religions and preachers are nothing more then false prophets who are only leading believers astray. It is during the sanctification process that the Holy Spirit teaches us how to live holy and righteously just as God commanded and He does this by showing us how to overcome our sins. Sanctification is kind of similar to what Jesus endured in the wilderness for 40 days since the Spirit has us confront the devil’s temptations head on. If you end up completing God’s purification process you are now a Christian who is sanctified in truth and you are a disciple of Jesus Christ who can no longer sin. This is when you are actually born again since a child born of God is someone who lives “exactly like Christ” and they no longer sin. This is how the term Christian came about since the original disciples lived exactly like Christ. Most overlook how Jesus had to train his twelve chosen disciples for three years before they could become His apostles. An apostle means someone who is sent, a messenger. Many also overlook the prayer that Jesus made for His disciples in John 17:6-19 where He asked His Father to sanctify His disciples in truth. So the disciples had to be sanctified in truth before Jesus could use them as His apostles, His messengers. So an apostle is someone who is a messenger from God and they possess the power of God to prove their anointment. Realize that God did not instruct us or command us to explain scripture to anyone but yet most are foolishly believing that it is their duty to try and lead others to Jesus. Many deceived believers do not understand that the Great Commission was for God’s chosen disciples who were trained by Jesus and who were sanctified in God’s truth. It was not meant for every believer of Jesus Christ to teach and that is simply a lie that is being fabricated by the devil’s many false ministers. So you might now begin to understand why the majority of believers are nothing more then children of the devil since they are ignorantly blaspheming the Spirit of truth when they willingly relate their misguided beliefs. These ignorant souls are simply spreading lies and condemning themselves since they were never taught scripture by Jesus nor where they sanctified in God’s truth. “It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:45‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ ‬”My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.” ‭‭James‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Many believers are ignorantly believing that Jesus came to forgive our past, present and future sins. This spoken untruth is having people believe that they can continue in a life of sin and then simply repent and God will forgive them over and over. This is why many believe that if they repent just before they die then Jesus will save their sinful soul. This twisted reasoning would mean that you can continue to steal and then simply repent. You can then lie and then repent. You can then murder and simply repent. You can keep committing whatever sin you desire and simply repent afterwards and you will always be forgiven. This is simply nonsense that is fabricated by the devil to make you believe that you will always sin. “Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:31-32‬ ‭NKJV‬ Jesus did not come to call on the righteous since a righteous person does not sin. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance which meant for sinners to stop sinning entirely and to start living holy and righteously just as God commanded. Jesus came to forgive us of the sins that we have already committed and this occurs at the moment that we repent of our sins and we accept Jesus and His Holy Spirit into our life. We must then submit to God’s purification process and allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify our heart in God’s truth so that we could overcome the sin and the sicknesses that we possess in our lives. Once again this can only be achieved by understanding how to test the Spirits as commanded in 1 John 4. So a Christian is someone who is sanctified in truth and they can easily discern a true Christian from a deceived believer in seconds since they now possess the mind of Christ and they are able to judge all things. They can no longer sin nor can they ever get sick since they are now born of God and the devil can no longer touch them with his afflictions. I am someone who has overcome sin and sickness in my own life and this is why God has me relating His blessings in my writings and in my videos‬ “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NKJV “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A healthy word. Some basics: God is not an ATM, a prayer answering machine. He only answers prayers that line up with His will and His timing, having mostly to do with His relatedness to people through Jesus and the world situation for the sake of the gospel. The people of God are slaves to His will, not the other way around. God never acts contrary to Himself, He acts righteously, with lovingkindness. God never acts contrary to His Holy Word, the Bible, since He is its ultimate author.

Please do a segment on the growth of hyper-piety. I am a 68 year-old Catholic who, IMO, is being pushed out of the Catholic Church. There seems to be a growing cult in the church. Basically it is hyper-piety and all that entails. If you do not indulge in the growing piety movement, you can be excluded from the simplest things. Our men's choir was disbanded because the men were accused of not taking the Eucharist seriously enough (we did not receive communion on the tongue). Another example is a Deacon had a sermon where he told the parishioners how to hold/press their hands together during prayer. Good grief. These are just small examples of what I see unfolding recently.

We should (as Christians), always pray with unselfish motives, but I don't know too many believers, let alone hyper-charismatic ones, that operate on a vibrational atmosphere. That seems very unbiblical to me. They also do not believe in universal energy and genies...but didn't Jesus say: "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" (Mark 4:40).

The only positive I took away from the Word of Faith movement was an excitement to study the Bible. When I did (for myself) I began seeing many, many inconsistencies with doctrines being taught and what the Word actually said. Pastors in the Charismatic Movement like to quote the famous teachers inside that movement and their sermons become nothing more than regurgitated material. Plus, emphasis on experiences in and around the church setting is over-emphasized

It’s really quite disturbing how deep the entanglement runs when you’re around this type of teaching on a consistent basis over a very long period of time. Is there a book that does actual comparisons side by side? Error vs Truth? New Age philosophy has crept into the church so much so that it is absolutely heartbreaking. I want to be equipped to expose it when confronted with it. I went to a women’s conference a month ago that ended with the main speaker doing a guided meditation with the 300+ ladies that attended. The self help industry makes $11billion yearly and i feel what people are really looking for are God. Ie Tony Robbins, Oprah...Rachel Hollis you already mentioned etc...

Thank you Alisa for such versatility and depth in your topics and guests, you certainly don't rest much (from RBC to here - tip of the cap sister). I have heard this creeping in pretty much "unchallenged" the last 25 years or so. Wayne Dyer, and Jack Canfield, Anthony Robbins, Sam Meranto, Joyce Meyer, TBN, Joel Osteen, Robert Schueller, Kenneth Copeland to name a few. This was once thought of as ridiculous and absurd, but now it is becoming way too accepted and mainstream in too many places. It seems people are willing to try anything else but ... OBEY ... HEAR ... TRUST God, and READ their BIBLE.

We can pray for whatever we want, but we shouldn’t forget that we are a tool of God, and he is using us for his purposes, and for that reason, prayers don’t need to always get answered. That’s why we do pray for God’s will to be done. Sometimes we are blessed by our prayers being answered, sometimes we are blessed by them not being answered. That’s how I see it.

The devil really gets that kernel of truth to turn from fear to faith in the God who is Love and twist it into self-idolatrous nonsense. Good thing we have people calling that out and emphasizing the truth of the Gospel!

Example of the law of attraction in the book of James: James 4:13-16 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.

If some of these prayers were answered, do not be surprised, the demons and their legions reward their All-Star players = for if they can keep people "happy & deceived" they are out of the way. No THWART / NO THREAT = LOST SOUL

Speaking something into existence is unnecessary because God gives us all we ever need. We don't need to ask God for stuff, either. That comes from believing we are lacking when God already gives us all we ever need. It's arrogant to think He doesn't. He already gives us our daily bread. Being at peace with all we have allows us to hear God for the important things like how we can become less judgmental through forgiveness and then our peace will grow through that greater understanding and we can teach it as we are forgiving those who trespass against us.

I think the word of faith movement has gotten a bad rap... Jesus did say “as a man thinks in his heart so is he” and if we were not meant to do greater things than Jesus then you’re saying it’s a lie. Paul also said we are to control our thoughts but Ive seen some of these pastors use it for other things and totally distort the word of God. Not sure why she gets so upset that we shouldn’t speak positive confession. Anyway I’ve had a big problem with Bethel for quite some time... they are actively allowing kundalini spirits.

The saying of Jesus: 1) with what measure you mete it shall be measured to you again" {Mth.7:2} followed by: 2) He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod {wisdom} of his anger shall fail {Prov. 22:8}. 3) He which soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully {II Cor. 9:6}. 4) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting {Gal. 6:8}. 5) For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap {Gal. 6:7}. Christ uttered the warning: 6) Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon thee." And Paul said: 7) Work out your own salvation. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Gee...sounds like the Law Of Attraction to me. You people are funny. I also love how Melissa constantly uses her {so called} New Age experience to spew out ignorance. The Law of Attraction is not New Age. It has existed thousands of years before Christianity was even a thought. It is a Hindu and Buddhist philosophy.

Can Pastors, who preach faith alone free grace without work are free to violate the teachings of Jesus Christ? How can they teach the love of Jesus Christ unless they have practiced it if you read Mathew 25 45? How will they trust Jesus Christ if they are not prepared to accept the greater reward in heaven after giving away their riches on earth for the sake of poor?. According to Mathew 28 20, are they not commanded to teach how to obey all that Jesus taught? Shouldn't they be tested according to 1 John 4 1?

The truth makes people angry. For it uncovers all their lies. The truth exposes them to the light where they cannot longer misrepresent, to destruct as easily, for if you can see the stem there is nothing deeper than the stem. They call other people religious belief and avenues "NEW AGE" "METAPHYSICAL" "FAR OUT THOUGHTS" and that is the stems of all the lies they have been taught or misstaught.

(A)"The god of the law of attraction is seen as a genie" You discuss A. (B) The god of the prosperity gospel is seen as a combo genie/sugar daddy/ATM. Will you discuss B? For every interest or weakness of human being there is a god or a Jesus created to service them. I keep hearing the term 'Truth' and 'True Gospel' thrown about like it actually exists. But it doesn't. It's just a flavor. How can there be one truth and yet there are so many disagreements as to who Jesus is, what he'll do for you, what he won't do for you, what you need to do for him, how you can 'truly' receive him, how you can make him happy, what will make you lose your salvation... (and that's the micro-list). From Genesis to Revelation, Christians have disagreements on what the Bible says, means, meant, how to 'properly' interpret it, whether or not it's important or not and what it means for salvation (again, that's just the micro-list). And many of these disagreements are so severe and divisive that this idea of TRUTH ends up being nothing more than a delusion inside a delusion. From Adventist to Zionist, Protestant, Catholic, New Age, Fundamentalist, Cult - it's all the same - chaos - and all say they KNOW the TRUTH. All claim a JESUS. How many Jesus figures are there? And who is going to hell and who isn't? And who is right and who is wrong? Christianity is a mess and if a god exists, he doesn't seem to care to straighten it out... and SOMEONE (or a lot of someones) are going to get an eternal death sentence for not knowing what he refuses to make clear. One would be better off writing all the thousands of flavors of Christianity on a wheel and throwing a dart at it to decide which one is THE TRUE Christianity to hang their eternal salvation on. Or then again, maybe this whole Christianity, god, Jesus thing is just a farce. And since Christianity unapologetically claims that every other religion is a farce then maybe those are junk too. It never ends - religions denying other religion, flavors of religion inside the same religion that can't mix. It's obvious. All gods are incompetent or maybe (just maybe) they simply never existed.
