Hey, the driver runs great! I did the following things to stream to Steam Deck with Sunshine/Moonlight: 1. Add the 1280x800 resolution to the vdd_settings.xml 2. Start the VDDSysTray.exe from Companion install folder and select "Start at Startup" 3. In Display Settings, find which is display was "VDD by MTT" and which display was the "AMD vDisplay" (either 1 or 2) and set "Show only on X" where X was that display. 4. Restart the streaming PC

Open in notepad, edit the text with your resolutions, save, restart the driver or PC. 👍

How do I make it so I can’t use the virtual during normal use. Like having my windows go to that invisible monitor. And only having it for Sunhine/Moonlight? Also minimizing performance hits.

Thanks for this ! Unfortunately I'm running into an issue with installing it for Win10 23H2 running inside a VMWare virtual machine. Once the display driver is installed the mouse stops working inside the VM. The keyboard still works, so using that I was able to uninstall the driver and the mouse started working again. Any idea whether that might a bug in the driver or something I need to set up differently ?

VMware installs their own virtual display driver. This complicates the install with ours.

Thank you for the information! I've been trying using the virtual display to use my iPad as a second screen on my PC with sunshine (second display for desktop when I'm home, and streaming games when I'm away). Any idea on how I can 'force' a different resolution for that virtual display? the iPads native resolution isn't included in the windows display preferences, and its not definable via the Nvidia Card since it's not connected to it physically. It also isn't possible to define via sunshine as far as I can tell, since sunshine only 'applies' resolutions to games, but doesn't seem to do so for desktop streaming
@MikeTheTech6 күн бұрын
Edit the XML and you can add any resolution. So it will match your iPad. Just add to the XML and restart. 👍

If I want to stream to both an iPad Mini and Nvidia Shield (not at same time) with different resolutions, do you need to create two different monitors with both those resolutions?
@MikeTheTech20 күн бұрын
You could create one monitor that has just those two resolutions. Then switch between them. But you could also do two.

You need to add custom resolutions to the XML first.

Hey so I got everything running great finally! Quick comment, setting up a custom install location did no go over well. If you do remote play, you can use customized resolutions and hz on your host pc based on your client’s device. You can also turn off your host’s physical display to mainly use your vd.

Hi Mike, thanks for your software, it’s really cool of you-it’s amazing! But I’ve got a huge problem. I’m running a Windows 11 VM on my Proxmox setup. The goal is to use it for gaming via Moonlight, so I don’t have a monitor connected to it. I installed the virtual display driver, and I can see it in the device manager, but when I right-click on the desktop and go to Display, the Display settings menu doesn’t show up. I can’t change the resolution, refresh rate, etc. Any idea what could be causing this? I’ve been stuck for two days… Thanks for your help, buddy. 😁

@@MikeTheTech Right so since I left this comment I've upgraded to Windows 11 and last night it was working perfectly, could play all my games in HDR via remote play now since my TV is HDR supported. But this morning it just isn't working anymore, Moonlight/Moondeck/Sunshine (whatever's the correct name) however no longer detects a DISPLAY3 in the settings anymore. I still tested it with my other two real monitors and it still works fine so I have no idea what on Earth has changed. I've already tried re-installing it too but doesn't seem to do anything!

I connected it to Sunshine and when I open the Steam for example on my RP5 in Moonlight, it's opening on my primary monitor and not on my RP5 and I see just second screen. How to solve this issue? Maybe there is some command for Sunshine to start it on the secondary monitor only?
