@SrWorfwood10 ай бұрын
Actually we did evolve to be able to consume milk as adults, that's why less than half of the population are lactose intolerant. If that wasn't the case the percentage would be 100%. The majority of lactose intolerant people live in countries where drinking milk was never a thing until at least very recently, you can easily guess why.

From the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine: "Milk and other dairy products are the top source of saturated fat in the American diet, contributing to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. Her husband is the one that sold her out. This can be deduced logically with a pretty big mountain of evidence in the episode itself. There are TONS of facts in the show to back this up, but to keep things short and TLDR one of the biggest smoking guns is that her mom never betrayed her before. She took care of her as a kid, and after that fire it is true she did abandon her, but she never gave her over to the people that hated her. And after she found her again, she nursed her back to health. Once again, she could've sold her out and collected that money, but she didn't. Instead, she arranged a marriage for her. It was done for the mother's own selfish reasons, and she was kind of an awful woman, but she wasn't awful enough to sell Mizu out. Another thing was that her mom had been off Opium for months. She got pissed at Mizu and her husband for not giving her money to buy drugs, but you could tell by the change of seasons during the story that literally months had passed since then. The mom had already gone through her withdrawals and coped. If she was willing to sell her out, she would've done so during withdrawals where she would've been at the absolute height of her crazy and anger, but again, she did not. Meanwhile, she beats up her husband, he calls her a monster, then the very next day he gives away her horse and samurai show up to kill her and he arrives directly after they do. He did not look surprised to see them, and they did not acknowledge him at all with a warning or even a look. They all knew about the other. Her husband sold her out. Her mom sucked, but she was NEVER willing to let her get killed for money.
@AoAstar10 ай бұрын
i like that you cant really tell which one of them did it- but this is cannon to be now husband needed to be humbled
@harvsthenerve413610 ай бұрын
The thing is; What makes the tragedy of Episode 5 great-- from a story writer's perspective --is that we, the Viewers, are never *supposed* to know for certain who betrayed her. Both her Mother and Ex-Husband had intentions of taking advantage over Mizu and thus both had equal possibility of being the traitor.
@TheDrexxus10 ай бұрын
@harvsthenerve4136 the mother only seems plausible only if you don't think about it for very long. Do you really believe this woman walked into town, told whoever you tell about minutes, then they paid this woman based on nothing but her word, then this woman went drug shopping, then walked home... all before men on horseback could get to mizu's house? Then the husband is sneaking up on her with sword drawn even though all the samurai are dead and then quickly drops it when she looks at him. Then he immediately accuses the mother and when she denies it he violently rips her off the porch and stabs her. She didn't start that fight, she didn't even begin the accusations, and he was much stronger than her, there was literally no reason to kill her except to shut her up permanently so she couldn't cast blame on him or show proof she was innocent. There was literally no reason to just murder her There otherwise. Like I said, episode was littered with clues and every single one points at the husband. But I get what you mean because it's just ambiguous enough that it would be hard to figure out in the heat of the moment for someone in that situation. It made it a more interesting story to be sure. Probably left a lot of people wondering.

People with drug addictions are unpredictable. Her actions before the addiction is irrelevant. They were going to cut off her drugs and she was all about the money. Her selling off her daughter wasn't yelding the money she wanted. She also was in the house and didn't do or say anything during that whole fight until they were all dead. She's also likely to be the one that would know who exactly to tell about half breeds. Then again it could have been both
