I lost my girlfriend to mental illness in October 1973 when this was first released. My girlfriend could sing this song beautifully. After her break, the song was still on the radio and it just about killed me to hear it. I recently learned she had been pregnant at the time of her break and our baby was lost. The lyrics "all my plans depend on you" and "endings come to fast, but they pass too slow" sounded like they had been written for us. Every now and then, I listen to it and remember her. Though the song is very sad, it is about all I have left of her, so I have come to love the song. Thanks Art for recording it.

So many favourites I would only guess, Bright Eyes is a wonderful song but in hind site it is a beautiful song, a favourite, but which song of his isn't? besides his Bridge Over Troubled Waters which I don't think we will ever be fortunate enough to hear the likes again. Mrs. Garfunkel is very lucky if he sings to her every night. I am a romantic.........Art and I are almost the same age My birthday is September 25th. .

This is likely the #1 love song on my list. I was a Freshman in college when this song hit the charts in 1973. My girlfriend had dumped me earlier that year and taken up with someone else, so when ever I hear this song, I flashback 48 years and to everything during that year. Have long since 'moved on' after the breakup but the song is pure emotion. Now in my 60s, I still can smile and remember the emotions I felt and I thank God for leading me elsewhere in my life. This song will still be #1 for me.

Thank you so much for finding this beautiful song, and letting us view Art Garfunkel live. This is such a glorious and moving song, and there will never be enough words to express how great a composition the song and lyrics are.

He is a genius. The best voice of all time. Simon gets too much credit. He is a great songwriter but Art was the heart and soul of that duo.

My three favorite singers. 1. Art Garfunkel 2. Andy Williams 3. Michael Crawford For me Art takes the prize. There is such an innocence and heavenly sound to his singing. Overwhelming talented. I Never, ever get tired of his voice.
