Out of all his moves the Portal just makes the least sense to use here, it works nothing like ricks portal gun and the fact that you can send projectiles through it to make it go faster literally doesn't make sense either. I think they should've replaced it also missed opportunity to make the rings something he can switch between or at least incorporate them all
