@@dirkdiggler6230 Yaris I was the original small car by Toyota. The Yaris II was kinda a more rounded shape ass many cars became sound back then in 2005. The Yaris III brought the rounded edges and styling they've kept for 8 years. It was the beat looking Toyota Yaris to date with more modern look in and out. Yet, the new Yaris looks like a Citroen. No longer a Yaris. So if you like it, you don't like a Yaris. You like a Citroen....

I have first generation yaris. Over 200 000 km. Great little car for short and long trips. The thing I like and new ones don't have is the adjustable back bench. Gives a lot more space in the trunk if needed, and the child seat is still usable. Why they gave up on that is beyond me.
@andrewmoorhouse687

Looks good. More sporty. Pleased to see a manufacturer not make a new generation of car bigger than the previous one. So many cars are just getting larger and larger with each new model. It doesn’t make sense, here in the UK at least, where roads and parking spaces remain small. The increase in wheelbase with more interior room, while slightly reducing exterior size is therefore welcome. Looks an interesting small car, especially in hybrid form. Good overview and nicely shot Thomas and Jonas, as always 👍😊

This is definitely a huge improvement from the previous generation which was hideous. I drove it in February on one of my holidays and the only plus was the fuel consumption. This one has stepped up tremendously in the interior, but also looks nice on the exterior. Those rear lamps look like they are copied over from the C-HR, but it suits this one too.

@Elf1492

I find it alright to be honest. The targeted audience of the Yaris probably won't be able to tell the difference between an independent rear suspension and torsion beam.
@rightlanehog3151
@rightlanehog3151 5 жыл бұрын
@@Elf1492 That is exactly my point. Toyota could have targeted a much wider audience by being best in class in all aspects of the new design. Would it cost more than 100 Euros per car in the manufacturing process to add a proper rear suspension? Toyota says "No more boring cars," then launches an all new model with a compromised chassis.

I wish they had kept the original "French-ified" Yaris HB in the USA lineup. Getting dual Mazda2's as both our Yaris Sedan and Yaris Hatch is too much. I have no complaints about the Mazda2-as-Yaris over here in terms of FTD/handling, but Toyota is the King of Reliability and I wish they had kept one of their own engineered and built cars in the market. That's a very nice, clean, uncluttered interior. I hope the hybrid has better acceleration than the typical down-sized small displacement engines Europeans get stuck with. At least Stateside we don't get anything smaller than 1.5L. In American cities we now have to remove the cargo covers so potential thieves can see it's not worth breaking into an empty car. It's wonderful to see all the blue chassis work. Should make single-car accidents a lot more survivable.

But im able to touch upper door part with my elbow/hand or center tunnel or lower dashboard part with me knees, and its all hard plastic there.... why? why not to use soft touch where you actuially come to the contact with the car...? and its not only this car, its almost every single car where is used more hard touch than soft touch.... to the car - i like the rear design, especially lights, very nice gauges and steering wheel, and i love those storage shelves (like they are straight from the higlander). plus led lights and proper HUD, hybrid... man toyota is killing it with this one! i hope price will be competitive enough.

Interesting to see the latest Yaris model. From the perspective of an existing 2017 Yaris Hybrid owner, around 1:32 it looks as if they have made a compromise between improving the aerodynamic drag and losing some capacity in the back. It’ll be interesting to see what the fuel consumption statistics are compared with the older one. Good to see the use of HUD display. Evidently they’ve switched to digital rather than analogue instrument displays (again).

The best review is the first review I watch, thank you so much Autogefühl. I purchased a 2019 Yaris and am very happy with it, especially considering I opted for a manual and I’ve heard they have done away with manual variants.

Hi Thomas, first of all thanks for another complete and detailed review. I never get tired of watching your videos. Just one question please. Are the rear windows fixed in the Yaris like they are in the Aygo or can they be lowered cause I didn't see the inside of the rear door week enough?
