I dont understand how 100+ budgeted hours is not enough to make profit. I just started my own lawn care business with my brother and it's just us 2 working roughly 35hrs a week along with projects and we are making close to $10,000 a month take home. That's with a 2 days of 5hrs each day and most days only working 6-7hrs a day. So if we get more business and fill up the hours a day to about 10hrs a day. We could basically double or triple our income. So I don't understand how they are not making profit

I do feel like if.yoir going to start a small business though that the best route to go is only having 1 or 2 people working with or for you. My uncle has a tree service and has him and 2 other guys working for him and he's been in business for the last 20 years making bank. Seems a lot of small business put to much on their plate and hire to many people bc they take on to much work. Then it just becomes a struggle and alot fail.
@DaBrown101
@DaBrown101 Жыл бұрын
@@josephlilley9249 that's what I'm saying. If you wanna make good money and not worry about money. Why try to expand like crazy? Like you said, just keep a couple of people and just work what you can without taking on too much and make bank!

Working a brother or a close friend whose character and reliability you can depend on takes a lot off your plate. In the video he struggles with quantity and quality of laborer commitment, work ethic, skill, buy-in, perseverance, etc.

do you think mike could make a video explaining how to advertise, look for, interview, induct and train new workers. i went though 8 last year plus another 4 that didn't make it past the first week, longest was 3 months and i had them all quit 1 month before it slowed down for winter (Australia). so i am trying to find a way or lean how to look for people who will at least go from spring to fall.

After 32 years in business , if I had to do it over again. I would find a line of work that didn’t include the burden of employees. It really wears you down over time. Be wise with your money so you can tell them who’s boss , without a care in the world.

It’s easy to sell yourself and your business. The hard part is finding guys who not only want to work but also want to make money for the company they are employed by. These days guys want $20-$25 per hour but don’t seem to understand that their productivity and expectations go up with their increased labor rate. They don’t care that you paid them for 40hrs but they only put out 10hrs of billable hours. Employee mindset= how do I get the most money for the least amount of time/work

In the end 98% employee will leave, the work it’s hard and dirty compared to the pay, there is too much competition, the market only allow to charge so much , between customers, employees, expenses and taxes , government and equipment, the one that gets screwed it’s the employee
