This video is epic! I am only 4 minutes into it and already, it's is safe to say I have never seen such a thorough explanation of cookware in any video. And the graphics for oil consumption in a kadhai were brilliant!

Hellos guys, I am a sailor and have been watching your videos for the past month or so. I cannot explain the amount of joy I experience while watching you guys cook bangali dishes. It takes me back home. It's so comforting. I really appreciate your effort to revive the 'cooking' of bangali cuisine amongst our present generation of go getters. Since everyone is always so busy and prefers ordering in and what not, watching these videos atleast makes it look doable....I am all praises for the two of you. Been refering to all my friends to have a look and drool. 🙌 P.s....mul astro was bang on.

One of the main difference of your recipes from other cooking channel is the quality of the video and the clean kitchen setup you guys have. Finally the way you guys put all that effort and precision to make such good authentic bengali recipes is asome......... Thanks a lot for all those good healthy recipes.

I was sitting with my American Professor while she was checking something that I had recently compiled for her. It was taking her a lot of time so she asked me to go ahead and do whatever I liked. I opened this video on my phone and started watching it in parts. The moment the kid exclaimed, "Ami jani, mogojastro," I spewed spit all over her papers. After that, I had to spend 15 minutes explaining the joke to her. This is brilliant! The simplicity and clarity in your videos is stellar!

U'd defo love my kitchen back at Odisha which i'd carefully constructed n nurtured till i had to leave n come to stay here in Ahmedabad. I am remaking my kitchen here from zero. Stocking ones kitchen with the best is a slow, long, arduous task which needs dedication n patience (offcourse the wealthy ones can make it happen overnight, but alas! I ain't rich enough). Ur precise video is a real blessing to start with. Treasuring u. ❤ Keep doing great. Bless u. Thank u.

You can choose not to use aluminium. That's up to you. But we did some online reading-up while making this video, and the general sense we got is that there is no conclusive proof of the harmful effects of aluminium as absorbed through cookware (that Alzheimer's study is from the 1970s: www.alz.org/alzheimers-dementia/what-is-alzheimers/myths). Like Anyway Kundu says above, if the kadai is old/damaged or if you cook something too acidic in it, aluminium might leech into the food, but there is still nothing definitive about that being a hazard, as aluminium, being one of the most abundant metals on earth, is absorbed by our body in various ways. The thing about the internet is that you will find a supporting source for any belief you hold, so for what it's worth, check out this Quora thread (www.quora.com/Why-is-it-harmful-to-cook-in-aluminium-cookware) and an article in Cook's Illustrated (www.cooksillustrated.com/how_tos/6390-is-aluminum-cookware-safe).
