As someone who has always enjoyed spiders I used to handle some garden varieties as a kid. I found your channel about a week or 2 ago and I've been in love with all your videos! Luca Yoyo Mirimoto ALL tarantulas are Venemous. It's the severity of the venom that matters. New world species have venom similar to a bee sting, old world (especially baboon) species have much more severe venom that hurts A LOT! The Poecilotheria genus has the most potent venom out of any tarantula, their bites can cause extreme nausea, heart palpitations, and reoccurring pain for up to a year.

Luca Yoyo Mirimoto if someone had a weak heart, then a bite could be lethal, but there are no reported cases of death by tarantula. And yes, Petko has quite a few Pokies. (That's what the professional tarantula keepers/breeders call them.)

They can burrow in slightly moist coco fiber

I agree with Aaron, I would use EcoEarth or some other brand of coconut fiber substrate if you can, it seems to work the best, from what I understand. I haven't done any research in to it but if something like the coconut fiber isn't available, there are substrates sold specifically for tarantulas, some of which are on Amazon. I would do your own research about them as I know nothing about the product itself, other than it exists.
