This movie is a pure masterpiece, really emotional, especially for kat. It defines well the horror of the trenches, but also the obligation of the soldiers to fight even just before the armistice. if you loved the film i recommend reading the book it is (loosely) based on. Just as gut-wrenching and sad as the film? i'm quite sad that some key moments from the book (ie: the characters talking about how the French must not want the war if they don't want it either) but it is still an amazing film.

Finally we had a war film that humanises the Germans and doesn't just portray them as a mindless enemy who are there to be killed. My great great uncle was killed by the British (he was German) in a gas attack which just goes to show how both sides suffered at the hands of war crimes

Can we all just take a moment and appreciate how perfect this so overused music fits onto this edit please: The pleasent suspension it builds at the beggining, slowly giving way to the unsettling, high pitched and fast violins, which end up to dominate the melody. Just like the trauma of witnessing war, and the mental illness takes over the brain, and the perception of reality and shatters the high spirit they've had when they were being deployed.

This movie called all quiet on the western front follows a young man named Paul who joins the war with his friends thinking it will be fun and they will win However when they get there they are met with the harsh reality of the war Over the years he loses his friends with one of them committing suicide He disassociates and when a treaty is signed to end the war he dies one minute before it ends The movie ends with his friend (the last remaining one out of the group) leaving his tag on as a sign of respect Very emotional and one of the few movies that doesn’t glamourise war Very good would recommend

600,000 soldiers lost in ONE day alone... They were so young, fresh faced, excited and jovial. I try to picture my dad fighting in Vietnam at 19 years old and I just can't wrap my head around it. Different war, same hell. They're all the same. This is gut wrenching to watch because it all really happened.

Конечно был выбор, просто взять и не ввязываться в эту глупую войну, задача любого правителя, забота о стране и народе, а уж чужие войны, вообще никак не должны касаться были РИ, типо братья Сербы... Да насрать на них, но ему видать важнее был чужой народ, чем свой, возможно сейчас бы Россия жила лучше и ситуация была бы аналогично Британской, хорошие отношение с большинством бывшим подконтрольным территориям, в случае РИ - Украина, Беларусь, Казахстан, Армения, Грузия, Азербайджан, Казахстан, Эстония, Латвия, Литва и т.д., возможно стран было меньше, а может и больше, но и вероятнее политика была бы мягче, ведь мало каких стран устраивали месиво внутри себя, как совок Моё мнение такое, прежде чем вступать в войны, надо убедиться, что в стране порядок, а потом уже бежать, защищать союзников, какими близкими они не были, ведь собственный народ важнее Если исходить из нынешней ситуации РФ, то правительству так же плевать на свой народ, опять, поперлись непонятно куда, в чужую страну, ради чужих людей... Население и так падает, и при таких больших территориях, так ещё так не нормально расположенным населением, этой стране грозит очередной распад в ближайшие 100 лет, либо смена власти, либо смерть страны, страна не правительство, лучше уничтожить правительство ведущие страну к гибели, чем полный распад страны(хоть мне это и симпатизирует), ведь это влечет за собой кризис больших масштабах не только на территории РФ, но и за границей
