Grey Squadron runs transport mobility. Red, Blue, Gold and Silver are the assault squads. These assault squads are supported by cryptologists, communication, dog handlers and sometimes even Airmen from the Air Force's 24th Special Tactics Squad Squadron. (The Air Force's secret weapon is JSOC.) Special Boat Teams are manned by Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen who operate and maintain state-of-the-art surface craft to conduct coastal patrol and interdiction and support special operations missions

They also have Marines in some of those billets for Fires as SOF JTACs. Not just AFSOC CCTs or SOF TACPs.

Correct on DEVGRU, several US Navy Security Forces buddies who were MWD (K9) handlers were attached to DEVGRU, which is another name for SEAL Team VI which doesn't actually even exist!

Special Operations, not Naval Special Warfare. Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) is the unified command for EOD, Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces, SEABEEs, Combat Camera, and Divers. SOCOM can request bodies from the Navy, and do. CTs, MAs, CBs, EOD and others have and do work with SEAL Teams.

@manxmanc4951 I'm not knocking what they do, but that's what they're classified as. Only SEALs and SWCC are considered Tier I SOCOM assets. But as I mentioned, they directly supported NSW as do NSF, NCF and NDs.

@vwalsh63 Big Navy always has say in the matter! SEAL Team VI or more correctly NAVSPECWARDEVGRU was creative during the Cold War, the Navy had UDT/SEAL Teams I, II, III and IV at the time. The the designation SEAL Team VI was to confuse the Soviets into believing we had more than we did, along with cover for DEVGRU. Marchenko didn't retire with 4 Stars or any for that matter, he's the one who had no say, hence why Red Cell was shutdown. After 23 years and a Senior Chief, everyone answers to someone...SEAL, Astronaut or Recruit!

@GeordieBoy69 incorrect...all SEALs and SWCC are considered Tier I assets under the unified command of SOCOM along with SF, PARA-RESCUE, MARSOC and 75th Ranger Battalion. Tier II under National Command Authority are all 1st line Combatant Commands (82nd Airborne, 7th Fleet, 3rd MEF, 13th Air Force, also known as America's 911 Force because they're always ready to deploy), or any standard combatant unit of the US military. Tier III are Reserves, National Guard and direct support to Tier II. Tier I support is organic to SOCOM as a unified Combatant Command, since 2002 or 2003.
