What a cool water heater.

I looked on Amazon for something close to this, But nothing even close came up. Thanks for stopping by.

I like it. Control the flow rate of the syphon by changing the height of the bucket, you can make it as fast or slow as you want.

Wash water only needs to be 120deg F. I thank you have a good idea with the higher the inlet tank, the faster it will flow. Thanks for the comment.

I got one too ! Mine is Black and needs a little TLC. I haven't looked at it in a while, but I want to say it's Colman. I got mine at a garage sale or somebody cleaned out their shed, can't remember. I appreciate you figuring out how to operate it and posting this video. Makes me a lot more willing to tackle getting mine up and running !
@badbadbob13 ай бұрын
So it is from the 1980's or 90's do you think? You see I did get it to siphon to fill the pot with very hot water.
@jimbayler42772 ай бұрын
@@badbadbob1 Don't know. I haven't yet looked into mine. But the styling makes me want to say Mid-'70's. I like the siphon idea. Any dangers if it runs dry while the heat's on ?! Just went out and checked mine. Your unit being pristine, probably has the same labeling, "The Little Sizzzler (yes, three "Z's") Instant Hot Water Inc. Sizzzler Sales Inc, Salt lake City, Utah. Did a quick search Microsoft Bing, and U-tube.... Virtually no info. out there. The only thing I can find is several listings on eBay and a couple of auction houses ($60-$180 depending on condition). A couple of the listings stated that these were of 1970's vintage. Their name was probably too similar to the Restaurant's name, and they got a "Cease and Desist" letter from the Restaurant's Lawyers. These came in several colors Red (which mine turned out to be), Green like yours, and a brown Mustard yellow. There might have been a fourth color. Can't remember. If you come across any additional information, and you can find my posting again, let me know. Good luck !

A cool upgrade would be to use a larger water tank and have the discharge pipe hooked a small 12v pump, recirculating the hot water in the larger supply tank.
@badbadbob12 ай бұрын
That would work if the pump moved slow enough to let the water heat. Did you see how I let it siphon from the cold water tank to the hot? No battery's or power needed that way.
@321spacemonkey2 ай бұрын
I did see the siphon you set up, very cool idea. This’s a neat mini boiler, I had never seen one like it until your video. Thanks for making a video of it and sharing it with all of us.

@@321spacemonkey The common thought is, Colman Co. made the water heater.

I see you changed the type of gas your using to heat the water. May be need a longer lighter. I like the setup there.

That yellow Gas cylinder was empty. But you are right. It needs lit as soon as I turn the valve. But what fun is that. lol

I like it, compact and seems simple enough. I could see it very handy in something like a tailgate party or such an event where open fires are prohibited or not practical like high wind situation. But, you need two vessels and if you had metal vessels, a simple propane burner would get the job done. Would be nice in the morning when you just wanted some hot coffee and didn't want to invest too much effort. With a simple gravity coffee filter rig it could make coffee quick. I have a propane coffee maker and it is so nice in the morning at camp, well worth the cost and dragging it along with other gear. Take care, nice video demo.

Seems like a military or something coleman would have made for camping definitely a neat find something a little safer would be my pick hate when the propane stove in the kitchen doesn’t light the first time and kicks a bit when it finally dose light this dose it on the first try definitely have to be careful and stand back move your hand fast but it seems to work great when you have the water above sitting there hand pumping a pot of hot water wasn’t the best invention but it was probably only meant for camping or emergency hot water for a quick shower never seen one would be great to see what the actual use or the original advertisement was and when it was made another great video and something new to share that most people probably have never seen before

You are so right. I was surprised to find this water heater. I did find a good hack to make it work without hand pumping. Still slow but it gets the job done.
