This... seems like it would be just terrible on your hands and arms after a little while.

@@Diviance the vibration is quite bad, perhaps if you lose it every day it probably wouldn't have done you much good. But I used it pretty much continuously for an hour, and had no I'll effects the next day. However on the other side of things, I used the modern equivalent which is the BCS the the one I was using had a single cylinder diesel engine fitted to it. And because it had so many levers, handles, controls and everything was pretty hard to pull. And there was no real reduction in vibration. I actually found that quite a lot harder to use for an hour. I also used one that you could buy at b&q, more recently. The little petrol engine on. And the vibration of that is actually a lot worse... Especially for something that was made within the last year or so. It's very cheaply made... To the point where it's not able to adjust the belt that drives the blade. Sorry doesn't last very long. The only anti vibration you have on that one is a piece of flat rubber between the two parts of a handle. Because that's just held together with two bolts, the whole arrangement flaps around in the breeze... But getting that you original point.. The other side was designed to do a job and the most part it did it very well. There Is a huge number of critics... But they did seldom worldwide from the 1930s right up to 1970's... Originally designed in the 1920s... I did make quite a few improvements over the years... I need a thought if they weren't that good they wouldn't have sold very many or at least certainly not for that amount of time.. The only thing I wouldn't really want to use it on is either a very steep Hill, or a crossways on a steep bank, there were wide axle versions but I haven't got mine working yet... Otherwise they tended to roll down the hill. I've got one that's done that in the past and one of the wheels has been repaired. Anyway enough waffling from me....
