Kees Kameel It's not that pop isn't real music, it's just the McDonald's of music. Music, much like food or wine, is an acquired taste. This takes years to develop. This is most likely why teens listen to shitty pop music. They know no different. If you had only ever eaten a McDonald's hamburgers in your life, you'd most likely think they were the greatest hamburgers ever made mainly because you have no basis of comparison.

I don't know what I expected but it was not this. Sweet mother of Mary this guy can belt it out. This is what's missing in much of today's music. Talent and a genuine capacity to tell a beautiful story. No one sings of love and longing anymore at least not like this guy. Once again Mahogany Sessions have upped the bar of what I now consider music. Thanks seems somehow wholly inadequate.

It's been the coldest February in decades where I live. But when I hear his voice, my guts and heart are fully enveloped by the warmth and soul of this thing called music that has been somehow forgotten ever since Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga were called upon to lead this generation of musicians. it was predetermined (for the most part) because it's his own arrangement that he has sung on tour for ages now. you can listen to another acoustic performance of this song and the riffs are not exactly the same. this man has soul, and the riffs he does or doesn't do have nothing to do with that. singing with soul is about passion and allen stone brings that in a way many artists right now don't. proof? go see him live.
