Can we appreciate the other people back there? I don't know their names and that makes me sad, cause music is rarely a one man show and the backing vocals, percussion and strings make this a beautiful song as much as the breath-taking lyrics and voice. That cello solo was awesome!

Lyrics Babe There's something tragic about you Something so magic about you Don't you agree? Babe There's something lonesome about you Something so wholesome about you Get closer to me No tired sighs, no rolling eyes, no irony No 'who cares', no vacant stares, no time for me Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on its sword Innocence died screaming, honey, ask me I should know I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door Babe, there's something wretched about this Something so precious about this Oh what a sin To the strand a picnic plan for you and me A rope in hand for your other man to hang from a tree Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on its sword Innocence died screaming, honey, ask me I should know I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on its sword Innocence died screaming, honey, ask me I should know I slithered here from Eden just to hide outside your door

Just imagine: Crowley and Aziraphale walking past a street performer in London - it's Hozier, and he's singing this song. Crowley recognises him as a guy he met in a bar a while ago; the one he told all about him and Aziraphale. He realises that Hozier turned his words into song, and nods at him as he walks past. He mentions it in passing to Aziraphale, who (being incredibly flattered) researches more about this artist. He soon realises that most of his songs (which he had posted on KZbin) somehow link to him and Crowley. He smiles, and performs a small miracle. Soon, Hozier becomes popular, and people really get to see his talent, thanks to an angel and a demon. This was just a bit of a word vomit tbh, sorry if it doesn't make sense.

concept: crowley spills the beans to him when he is drunk in that bar, during the time he thinks aziraphale is dead. Hozier opens his notebook and notes everything down. what you wrote takes place on the street upon which aziraphale opens a new bookshop.

I have never been more relaxed writing a 7 page paper due tomorrow morning as I am when listening to the acoustic versions of Hozier's music. His voice is pure bliss and euphoric feelings.

This Hozier is amazing and his writing is superb . The version of Eden (live sessions) is better , more lively , crisper sounding .....check it out !

If by "better, more lively, crisper sounding" you mean the gain is cranked then yes. That is what people have grown to expect. This version by Mahogany is a far superior recording to start, every instrument is tracked much better. It also has a better overall sound quality. Live Session has a good bit of distortion, and the instruments are not represented as they should, they all bleed into each other.

I'm just rediscovering this performance this beautiful morning and got bit by the "oh man i obsessively love this performance" and have since been listening basically on repeat. This and "Cherry Wine" from this session is really really great and his openess and vulnerability in his lyrics are something to acknowledge and compliment on. Incredible.
