Just a nice reminder that Nolan’s mercy he provided Mark for what little it did was likely more than ANY Viltrumite would consider in the next several eons combined. Might makes right, and there’s simply not a shred of empathy to be had. Even with their biggest enemy likely being the coalition of planets they don’t so much as hesitate to make an example out of Allen for the whole base to see. Never ending frightfest nightmares in this show showing crime scene after crime scene.

My interpretation of it is: Robot/Rudy goes out in person... because he can, because he wants to. That was his goal, the purpose of getting a new body. To do all the things he never could, which includes fighting beside his friends, standing by them in person, putting his life on the line just as much as they are. Plus, there's something to admire about a leader who wants to be next to his comrades on the front line.

In Montana's defense, characters from one dimension being comic book characters that don't exist in an alternate dimension is a thing that happens and what the scene in this episode is likely referencing (but also subverting the expectation by not being real in this instance). In the silver age of comic books, DC comics established that their characters from the Golden Age were from a different dimension to the main continuity and didn't exist except in the form of comic books. The silver age flash's super hero name even comes from the aforementioned comic book with the golden age flash as the main character. Eventually, the two heroes end up meeting due to a crossover comic and we learned that the golden age had all taken place in a parallel earth to the main continuity, called "Earth-2"

28:40 So about Robot not piloting remote anymore. They didn't say here, but in the comic it's cause his range was cut down a ton when he switched bodies. His old life support unit was large enough it allowed him to control from anywhere. He mentions it briefly around the time they go into space in a few episodes. Not sure why they left it out here, maybe next season they'll bring it up.

robot could control robots from afar…but by being distant, he also was way too quick to nuke the city in season 1. by placing himself on the battlefield it enhances his empathy and it constrains him to the danger. as he is a genius, he likely understands that constraints and pressure actually produced higher creativity and efficiency in problem solving. that’s at least how i rationalize that he stays in the suit now

It is a play of words "This Missive This Machination" as "This Epistle, This Well Thought Plot", "Dismissive Dismachination" as in "Arrogantly caught/ruined the plan", and "Dismissive This Machination" as in "Arrogantly making less of this well thought plan". I'ts actually a pretty smart title. Becomes more so later on the season. Spoilers to the second season bellow . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Allen is the letter to the Viltrumites, the last plan of Unopa, His people, their plan and even he were destroyed by Viltrumites and the victory was taken as granted, adn yet they always come back better than the last time due to Viltrun Arrogance, the last time with Allen getting stronger then Vitrumites, a well plotted machination after all, dismissed completely.

In DC comics, the multiverse (during it's infancy) had two Earth's that were influenced by the other. The Flash (Jay Garrick) was the Flash of Earth 2 and when Earth 1 Flash (Barry Allen) became the Flash and on his Earth, Jay Garrick was a comic book character and decided to name himself after the character. An episode of Justice League had a similar scenario where they traveled to an alternate earth where the heroes on the parallel Earth were fictional characters on the main earth. The explanation was that the author must have had a subconscious psychic link to the alternate earth, which he used to create the comic book stories. So it would be possible for the Seance Dog to be real in another reality.

My first thought was, "How can two college educated adults not know the definitions of missive and machinations?" Then I was like, "Duh, because they were never required to read any authors who used such antiquated language." It was at that moment I realized that, in my mid-40s, I have lived long enough to have seen words fall out of general usage. The cognitive dissonance between the increasingly inescapable fact that I am physically old and the fact that my interior monologue sounds the same as it did when I was in my mid-20s is almost unbearable.

You're right about being unbearable. I'm only a couple years older than them, not college educated and I knew those words. Sometimes people just don't come across some words. Machinations is a pretty antiquated way of describing plans or schemes and is only ever really used rarely in modern day by villains to make their words more dramatic. As for missive. You could make the jump for it's root being the same as mission. But I'm pretty sure I must've heard it used in an episode of star trek or something.
