Kirstie and Phil always amusing and effective! I was profoundly moved by the very special couple, the exemplary and inspirational Martine Wright and Nick Wiltshire! As I found out they've been having a wonderful life since then, also becoming proud parents of a son in 2009. Martine became a recognizable paralympic sitting volleyball athlete in 2012 London Paralympics and is an eminent ambassador for sport for disabled people, having earned many distinctions as an influencial personality by various organisations through the years. Great people!

Martine's willingness to both describe her experience of that terrorist attack in London, how terribly injured she was, and how she survived it all, and then thrived has always seemed amazing and wonderful to me. I really did get a lot of joy seeing her choose her new home, with Nick beside her, as he always had been.

I cannot believe how often this is said on different episodes of this show! I guess you just have to chalk it up to being young and stupid. As you mature, you realize that this is just not what is important in life or in house hunting. It sure is annoying to hear over and over again though.

It's actually a very common thing, i've seen it many times within groups of friends. Nobody wants to have the "worst house". In my case , i couldnt care less. I rent because I dont want to work 50 hours a week, and I will always rent. Whatever.

The first house Martine and her husband looked at was the best. Beautiful yard, updated interior. I think the upstairs can be used for storage or guests as was mentioned. I am not disabled but my upper floor/attic is inaccessible except by a dangerous ladder so only my husband goes up there. I guess the house they settled on was too “country” for me but as long as they’re happy, well, they have to live there. 🙂

I have questions, that Martine suffered and yet survived ever willing to get on with life and love! My questions are that what happened, the help she needed, to survive, and attempt to move on with mobility etc., that the COSTS of it for her, literally the monies she needed to continue on in her own power, should be sustained from the government! For me, this includes help in making her choice of home financially! I am so glad she's alive, and she's so amazing to keep on keeping on, especially getting round on her own, it's amazing. But I wish she would have gotten more help in buying a home to live in happily with her new husband...

Now, I'm not physically disabled, but I don't see how having one upstairs bedroom would be a problem. It could be used as a guest room or a storage space or a man cave or a secondary office or a bedroom for an older child (when they have children). Like it could just be an extra room. She doesn't need to have access to that room because she has so much space on the ground floor.
@ysbyttybedbug2 жыл бұрын
As someone with mobility issues myself, I think I can understand it. She seems a very positive, ‘can-do’ person, who was probably still coming to terms with the things she could no longer do. So the last thing she’d want is something in her own home that shouts ‘can’t do’.
@tracytasticbitchcakes2 жыл бұрын
Who would clean it? What's the point of having a room you can't get to? I am disabled and though my house is single story I know that as I age the steps to get in the front door will become a problem.
@Kevin-sm8pn2 жыл бұрын
@@tracytasticbitchcakes Um, well she does have a partner with no mobility issues, so um, him, obviously? I'm just saying that it's just one room that they can use as an extra room, so she doesn't need regular access to it. And if they're using it for storage, then there would be no reason to clean it. I don't know of anyone who cleans a storage room, lol.

@thehungrygoldfish3 күн бұрын
I don’t think they’ve ever said anything that was offensive or untrue. A lot of the negative remarks I remember revolve around the couples being wildly unrealistic. If you’re being wildly unrealistic about what you can get for your budget, people are not going to say positive things about you lol.
