The fact that she took 10 years off to be with her babies and to honour her husband and his career. And that she didn’t sell out to become a big time actress is amazing. She is such a testimony to embodying the Proverbs 31 woman.

No, you're not. I grew up a pastor's daughter who taught Sunday school and no one attacks Christians. Its a free ride wherever you go. Other people have real adversities. This attitude is selfish and sick.
@Ytvzoey6 ай бұрын
@smokyquartz5817, I’m Arab. Google how Christians are treated in the Middle East and then get back to me on your conception of a free ride. My entire family is Muslim and I converted to Christianity. Not only can I NOT travel to the Middle East because I could be arrested and killed, but my entire family cut me off. We live in the west. I had to HIDE my conversion for years. Yes, years. When they found out, they dropped me like a sack of potatoes. They had to because converting to Christianity, even as a westerner, brought shame to the family. It doesn’t matter that we all live in America and Canada and some in England. Doesn’t matter that most of us were NOT born in the Middle East. None of that matter. They cut me off the instant they found out. Don't generalize your experience and call me sick. Being Arab Christian is 💯% NOT a free ride. Please educate yourself about the diversity of Christians all around the world, including the ones living in Canada and the US. Calling me sick is closed minded, ignorant, homogenizing, and assumes that your lived experience is the only universal truth. It is not. You may have felt being Christian was a free ride. I assure you becoming Christian has not only cost me my safety for many years, but it brought with it got me shunned from my family. There is no one universal Christian. Just because you’ve been taught that there’s only one Christian experience, doesn’t mean that is true. It absolutely is not. Don’t tell me your story and use it to tell me that it’s MY story. Your story is your story. My story is my story. I think that’s what they call …. Diversity 🙌🙌🙌 Embrace it. Thanks! 🙏
@Ytvzoey6 ай бұрын
@smokyquartz5817, I’m Arab. YT keeps erasing my response so let’s try this again. Please educate yourself about the lived experience of Arab Christians. Just because you grew up with a particular experience doesn’t mean it’s my story. It took me well into adulthood when I could actually voice to people that I’m Christian and feel safe. Google the lived experience of Christians in the Middle East and you’ll get the idea. So yes - I do find people like Alley and Candace inspiring because I can only dream of a day when I would feel safe enough to voice my truth and not be worried about the very real repercussions that come with it as an Arab Christian. Calling me sick is homogenizing. I don’t tell you who you are - don’t try to dictate who I am. Lastly, calling me selfish because I’m not like you, is the definition of selfish. Being myself is a good thing. Being yourself is also a good thing. We don’t need to enmesh with one another’s beliefs in order to be healthy. We need to be authentic and be ourselves, which means voicing our truth. There’s nothing selfish about authenticity. It is quite literally the definition of emotional health. Food for thought.
@Ytvzoey6 ай бұрын
@smokyquartz5817 -Telling someone that “their attitude is sick and selfish”, without even bothering to hear their story, is emotionally harmful. Calling me sick and selfish is a projection about yourself. Perhaps go inward and explore where that attack is coming from? Do you think that maybe, just maybe, your black and white story about Christians is, in fact, the “sick and selfish” thing you’re describing? Do you think that maybe you’re projecting onto me, what you feel about yourself? You obviously don’t know me so it’s rather odd and rather early (and kind of …🤔🤔🤔 not racially friendly) to be telling me I’m sick and selfish because I said I’m Christian? Fabulous you grew up as a pastors daughter. I grew up as someone who was quite literally taught to hide their faith because it’s what many Christian Arabs who flea persecution, are taught. When that’s drummed into you at the age of 8, well, you can imagine the kind of damage it does. It teaches kids that there’s something dangerous about expressing their faith. It teaches them that they can only be themselves, behind closed doors. You’d know that, if you actually bothered to hear my story, instead of telling me your story, and deciding that it’s my story as well. Thank you for sharing your story. But you are not the author of my life - so, don’t try to write my story. If you can’t participate in a dialogue without hearing other people’s story, then consider saying nothing at all, until you can.

I am still praying for him, almost 5 years for him to be bold in his faith & be the leader of our home. So encouraging to hear her husband’s testimony & her mom praying for her dad for 30 years. 💓🙏🏽

Keep praying everyday. It really does work. I've been praying for my parents daily to come to Christ. They are both JWs (Jehovah's Witnesses), and don't know who Jesus really is, along with many other false teachings they're deceived by. God showed me and my sister that at least my mom will wake up spiritually and showed us how we can reach her. But she's not there yet so we are still praying for her and our dad and are believing our prayers will be answered in God's time. It's been almost 5 years since we started waking up spiritually ourselves, as we were raised JWs. Before God opened my eyes to the truth, I would've defended that religion all the way to the hell I didn't believe in. But God is good and He made a way, and I didn't know it but someone was praying for me too before I came to Christ. Prayer works!! Also, I think a great resource you'll find helpful in your situation, which is not a Christian/religious book, but overall it really is in harmony with Bible principles, is The Empowered Wife by Laura Doyle. It has helped me in my own marriage to be able to communicate with my husband in a way that builds him up, makes him feel respected, and motivates him to take the initiative. When wives practice the skills in the book, it really encourages husbands to be leaders and rise to the roles they need to fill. God bless you and yours. 🙏❤

This is a really long story, but I prayed for my husband for 50 years and he gave his heart to Jesus in 2022 when he was dying of cancer. I know that might sound depressing in some ways, but I say it to tell you to NEVER give up praying. He was a “good” man, husband and father. We had a great marriage, he went to church and wanted our kids to believe, but he had never committed until he was 72. I’m crying as I write this. I know that I will see him again. You can’t put a price on that. God bless you.

@@heavencanwait421thank you for sharing your story. And praise God that your husband did commit his heart and life to Jesus. And he is with the Lord now. I was a fairly young Christian when my grandpa was at the end of his life. And he had been an alcoholic most of his life. He did quit drinking probably the last 20 years of his life because the doctors told him if he didn’t quit he would die because of his kidneys. They ended up having to remove one of them because he had cancer. And so he only had the one, anyway so he was sober all those years, but had never given his heart to the Lord. Anyway I decided to share with him about giving his heart to Jesus. I was so scared because it was my grandpa. I just felt intimidated. But the Holy Spirit kept prompting me to tell him. So I did, and he gave his heart probably a month before he died. But it was so amazing to see the relief in his eyes. And the peace that he had. And now I know I’ll see my grandpa again. Anyway, my whole point was that it’s never too late and we should never give up. God bless you ❤🙏✝️

GOD WORKS IN SUCH MYSTERIOUS WAYS!! I read your book and wanted to dedicate time to listen to your podcast months ago and never followed through. And here I am months later I’ve watched about 6 episodes just listening to Gods truth through your podcast 😭

I have a very similar story to Candace. She said her brother gave her a book and it spoke about the Ten Commandments. After college, I was at a crossroads in my life and I found a book called The Ten Commandments. It's a small blue book. It allowed me to do an examination of conscience and I had a spiritual experience the night after reading it where I encountered Jesus and I realized that our sins separate us from Jesus. I too, thought I wasn't doing anything bad in my life, but I realized all of the little things that I was doing. That night lit a fire in me.

Thank-you Canadace for prioritizing your babies over career ❤❤. I also love that you and your husband are making sure to take care of your kids. This is such a great reminder to prioritize my sweet baby right now. It’s so sad to think she’s already over a year. I had a cry the other day because I could just see her becoming an adult and moving out 😢❤. I don’t worry about working out. I garden, I play with my kids, do farm work and sometimes stretch or do handstands sporadically. When I’m done having babies and they’re happy to stay with their dad I’ll workout again.

I appreciate the talk about Candace and her mother praying over their husbands that they would seek God and become spiritual leaders, & with time they gave their life to the Lord. It’s very encouraging and touching.

What a beautiful interview. I really appreciate Candace pointing to Christ and sharing her sanctification throughout the years. I always wonder with these big name Christians what they believe and how their faith impacts their lives and hearing such strong Gospel truths coming from her really encouraged me and I definitely want to check out her upcoming projects.

Allie this was a wonderful interview. We got to hear pretty much everything about Candace in an open and relaxing forum. I appreciate how open Candace was. She has her mission. I can tell you that you can feel and see the difference from Hallmark compared to Great American movie. The decor and the heart. Can't wait for the mystery series. Well done Allie and Candace!

I loved this interview! Howwwww was I a part of the 1% that didn't know Candace and Kirk are siblings until today?! They look so much alike and I didn't even know it! I did, however, know about the Smallbones. I went to an event that Rebecca St. James put on years ago and for one part of it, she said she invited her brothers to come sing because they were also starting their own music career. After the event, I got a picture with all of them (Rebecca, Luke, and Joel), but For King and Country wasn't a thing yet.

You are so right about the seasons, and Allie, I have 4 kids and 2 are in college , my oldest turned 21 and our family took him out for a drink! He didn’t even get carded. It doesn’t just go fast, it flies. The good thing about it is it gets more and more fun.
