The two standout actors that made that show great were: Dick Van Patten and Adam Rich, both gone and sadly missed but will never be forgotten!!!!!

Also they Omitted The Boy in the Plastic Bubble starring Diana Hyland , which started the brief romance with John Travolta.

John was filming "Saturday Night Fever" at the time Diana was having cancer treatment. She was the one who convinced him to do the film, because she believed it would prove he wasn't like dopey Vinnie Barbarino on "Welcome Back, Kotter." He did it despite wanting to stay by her side. Which is where he was when she did die- in his arms. When he resumed work on "Saturday Night Fever", everyone saw how devastated he was.

You said that Lani O’Grady changed her last name to O’Grady…. What was it before it was O’Grady and why did she change it? The saddest part was the recent passing of Adam Rich. RIP Adam

I was born in 84 I love this show. I'm not surprised Adam Rich died from what I heard about his drug abuse . I had no idea Lani O' Grady had a lot of problems.
@lorimiller4301 Жыл бұрын
Makes me wonder what trauma he went through as a child ? That's usually what leads to drug abuse. I am very sad to hear this news. I hope he's come back already and tries again. He was a good actor, this is a shame. 😢

The show was about Vietnam on occasion. Abby's first husband was scripted to be killed in 'Nam. In real life Ho Chi Minh ( of North Vietnam) was a brutal mass-murderer if landlords in the 1950s. Ken Burns himself showed this of Ho in a book on 'Nam.

Honestly with the term diagnosed brain chemical imbalance, the "diagnosed" should be in quotations, because there's no lab work done before they throw mood & mind-altering medications at a person to try & control people's adverse outward symptoms.

How was Diana Hyland killed off the show? I remember Joan Bradford was killed off but don't remember how they say she passed. Anyone know?
@andrewthornhill7042 Жыл бұрын
@Edster73 Diana Hyland died of cancer 4 episodes into the first season in 1977, but it seemed the producers had no idea how to handle Joan's death. So they left it open. A bit confusing and unsatisfactory to be sure. Then in the second season, Tom met Abby. There were a couple of references to Joan's passing but no details. Odd.
