@@swagmassa6702 it's not an easy justified comparison. Lv is much older(35 years old) and absolutely (have) dominated 77kg weight class. Tian is much younger(25 years old), and competes at 96kg in the video shown. Tian starts at 77kg as well, but at that time his strength is nowhere near Lv. So of course, in the video, Tian's absolute strength is stronger than Lv, but that does not mean much since there is a 20KG body weight difference. I like both of them a lot, I do hope Tian conitnues to improve and dominate the heavier weight class which is always a weak class for chinese lifting team.

What's amazing seeing a lot of these pro guys warming up, is that they are already grunting at maybe 50%-60% of their 1RM, whereas for an amateur like me 50% feels light. So not only do they have more strength (=higher limits) but they are also better at reaching their limits, using higher levels of effort and exertion (and pain) that most of us can imagine.
@juanchaves98453 жыл бұрын
@haneefm7020 we beginners can't exert all our strength in our moves. Like when you go RPE 10 and four minutes later you can do the same set again. You are not really able to use every fiber at the right time. They are so they don't just have higher limits but can also reach them easier
@USMCLP3 жыл бұрын
@Juan Chaves No, it’s not being “really able to use every fiber at the right time” It’s just what taxes the nervous system. Someone squatting 225 lbs at 90-100% of their 1RM will never be as taxing as someone doing the same at 440 lbs. The same amount of muscular strength is being exerted relatively, but the body overall is using much more energy and effort because the weight is still heavier. That’s why rest times shoot up once the weight hits a certain point. Clarence Kennedy for example rests like fifteen minutes between sets over 225 KG (500 pounds).
@mikeray65583 жыл бұрын
@@USMCLP The point your missing is “beginner.” If we’re talking an advanced lifter who is lifting 4 plates as an RPE 10 then yea they will need less rest than another advanced lifter doing 6 plates at RPE 10. If you’re a beginner lifter, you’re still getting the mind to muscle connection down and getting technique ingrained before you can realistically figure out your max.
@USMCLP3 жыл бұрын
@@mikeray6558 Uhh, okay? You’re pretty much agreeing with me.
@mikeray65583 жыл бұрын
@@USMCLP The comment you replied to started off with “we beginners.” You told them it’s not about being to use all their fibers and I’m saying a BEGINNER can’t use all their fibers because they are still learning the movement patterns and making it natural for them. Remember, the biggest goal is strength & fitness. To be able to stay fit and strong all your life, and touch 80 without any serious injury, both internal and external. Many many athletes have much higher PRs but their lives are full of injuries. Those on anabolics and those who are into creatine abuse have kidney issues by the time they turn 50. In fact the Croatian lifter himself decides to sit down next to his coach and also just watch and learn from the best lol. If I didn't know any better I'd assume that they were there just to spy and learn from the best, and they were just pretending to work out and be there by coincidence when they had in fact planned it from the start to get the closest and best spot next to tian tao in order to record his WHOLE training session. You can see the Croatian coach watching from the start, even when he's doing leg stretches lol. Watch the whole video and but this time kook out for the Croatian coach and his lifter the whole time.
