What I always see and hate seeing.. streamers who look at their phone more than chat, talking to their friends.. People you are there for your chat... (And yes most I've seen have chat on their computer screen and not phone)

On the topic of lighting: There are a lot of people with Sensory Processing Disorder out there dude, so it's not just to "get over it". Neurological issues such as these can create immense tension. People gotta work around how they function. I'm not one that struggles with it, but I know many people that do. It is estimated that 1 in 20 of the general population struggle with this. Then you have those who are very gifted, have ADHD, Autism spectre disorder and fragile x syndrome where the SPD prevalence is much more higher then the general public. However, I do very much appreciate this channel and the advice you give have helped me a lot on the way. Thank you for your content! :)

Nailed it with the 'over-the-top overlays' comment. I find it very difficult to find a stock overlay that isn't SO MUCH. Also if you recommend audio ducking as well, etc. If there's already a video on this, I apologize! But a full in depth video on audio, if it's THIS important, I feel like would be mondo beneficial, especially if you get into EQ'ing for general builds (SM7B w/ Cloudlifter, Elgato Wave 3, AT2020's and how to EQ them with VSTs). While I still think I've taken care of all of the advice you've mentioned (audio, video, lights, etc), I still think something is missing from my stream... Having Twitch and KZbin while working a full time job is pretty challenging, but I know there are a lot of streamers having the same or even worse, so can't complain much. In my experience, bring your key light and fill light (if you have/use one) up above you and back away so they are at a 45 degree ish angle, reflections shouldn't show in camera much if any at that point. Definitely a balancing act, but it's doable. Also using a diffused light like a viltrox will help reduce point glare. Fairly cheap, about $60 for a panel and power cord.

Tbh I know I need to work on my sound and lighting but with been new to it all it’s work in progress, but like you said with the tweaking the overlays and lay out and logos I’ve been changing stuff on the weekly. development is key and finding what works for me is great and it’s fun doing that stuff the development is like seeing the progress from going to the gym and noticing you lost 7lb over the past 3weeks the buzz you get off it. But I found the clean look was better for me instead of all the banners and everything else. Like you said I was over compensating for been new. My streams was loud visually to much was going on and stuff. But I’m glad I ended up finding you on here I see that I’m gunna learn a lot from you and get better at what I’m doing. It’s a hobby but I want to enjoy and see where it goes.

Harris, mad props to the quality information you provide potential streamers!! I've watched numerous videos and I'm soaking in everything I can. But I've noticed one.... issue?? A lot, if not all, videos I find (not just from yourself but from all over) giving prospective streamers advice on how to create a successful, quality stream is geared towards the gamer spectrum. Granted, that is the major community at play and most of the information you share can be tailored with minor tweaking to other genre's, but what are the chances of doing the occasional product advice or stream set up video that is geared towards the makers and art channels that aren't confined to a cool backlit and decorated spare room? At the very least, perhaps when doing a setup or product advice video, could you expand on how the makers, working in wide open garages or workshops, may be able to use or adjust said items? Thanks for all you to support the streaming community and I look forward to more great information! MadMoo

YESSSSS i say this all this all the time audio levels , i would suggest most people recording over a test live stream for the inial test but then try test live streams to check how it translates to twitch

I’m fairly new to streaming but I think I’ve done a decent job at making my stream look professional. The biggest issue I’ve come across is getting good constructive criticism. All I know is I want to make my stream as good as possible. The most ambiguous part of streaming is knowing whether you’re doing a good job.

“Audio is more important than video”. I agree and I’ll raise you one piece of advice and suggest you add a de-esser to your audio-processing. I put that on the same prio-level as noise reduction. Especially for your viewers that are listening using earbuds. You’re welcome.

YES! still see so many people not realize how important audio is for EEEVERYTHING. Watch a few vids on youtube and learn how to make your productions sound better. It's not THAT hard to improve it by a lot. Audio allows your audience to feel directly connected to you instead of connected to a video they're watching. When watching a movie in a theater, if the audio mix is bad, you'll feel like you're watching something on a screen rather than being immersed in the movie. This is why they built surround sound to further implement immersion and connection.

Hey Harris, I was curious if perhaps you could look into doing a video on how to do a guide on a dual PC setup, like a full one? I know you have done a audio and capture card video for dual pc in mind for when you did it. But if you could do like a full tutorial? Like what wires go where, how do you setup OBS to capture 144hz on your gaming monitor and have your capture card catch it at 1080 at 60 without making your gaming monitor stuck at 60hz? I’ve been sending days on end on KZbin and no one has a settle, and really clear video on how to do it? Something myself setting up a dual pc I have been having big issues with. But thank you always for being the great guy and the wisdom you relay back to us!

I noticed you brought up bigger streamers a couple times. I’m not so sure they can be a basis for our streams because they’re at a point where it almost doesn’t matter what they have on their streams they’re still going to get tons of people watching them. More so the overlays and such. The content of course could directly affect the viewer count. Thoughts? Thanks for all you do Mr. Heller! Happy streaming

Like the color matching shirt and lights. Also, have you guys thought about making a better version of the spin wheel or slot machine widgets? Those are super interactive, but it’d be nice if there were simpler versions. Maybe you might know of some already out there that might be on a website not many people think to look?

One thing I think would be cool for the KZbin audience is if you posted some of your gameplay from your streams or even highlights (possibly even a second channel specifically for gaming content?). I know I would enjoy watching it since I seem to always miss your streams and the gameplay you show at the end of your videos looks interesting. Just a thought.

As a streamer and moderator. I like having a song command in chat instead of showing on stream. I also watch a streamer named Teawrex and his song command triggers it to pop up on stream it's not always there. Adds to the clean look.
