In the set, Hellion Eruption could change all your little 0/1 eldrazi spawns into 4/4s. So if you have an Eldrazi Spawn engine going, get some trample and this card and you could swing in hard

I actually really like the card. Especially in a deck with ways to get the lands back. Crucible, wrenn and six, splendid reclamation. Fun card in my opinion.

I don't mean it's bad as in unplayable, but it is a card that you either build around or fits into a deck that wants to bin lands. It's not as universally good as other land tutors.

I remember throwing down for a whole box of these years back and I swear it was nearly the same type of box, no titan ekdrazi, Hellcarver, Linvala, ,and Vengevine weren’t there but I got Sarkhan the Mad, Transcendant Master, and Cast Through Time. Do have to say the two copies of Training Grounds I got are worth something now.

In MaRo article recently he said that Rise of Eldrazi set pushed people away. Most did not liked the limited environment. Part of the reason is the they had slowed down the pace of limited, added walls and other things so you could have time to cast the 7+ CMC eldrazis. So, you had to build your limited decks with higher mana curves. The dudes that did not realised that and kept their limited deck construction habits were just straight loosing and not having fun. I remember my pre-release, I played against 3 peoples and for each game we were not able to finish a 1 of 3. It was just board stall and top decking. I boughtt a box and pulled an Emrakul and no other mythic eldrazi. I remember a guy in is box he opened Emra, Kozi, Ula and lot of other good stuff. Anyway, this set like New Phyrexia had so much good cards that became staples afterwards.

I've heard you says shops went out of business because of mass box openings in a couple other videos, but never go into detail. Can you do one on why it's such a slippery slope?

The potential that there might be a valuable card inside the sealed box keeps the price for each box of a set the same. When you open them and get the actual value, no one will pay you the potential price. Of cause you can get lucky with your draws and make the money, but just as often you can fall flat and have a terrible opening, so you loose the money you could habe made had you just sold the sealed product.

Still have my old Spawnsire of Ulamog/Training Grounds deck. As long as you had 2 Training Grounds in play & Spawnsire of Ulamog, made making all the extra colorless mana add up after sacrificing a Eldrazi Spawn to get more from Spawnsire fo Ulamog then repeat as much as you want. Last MTG set I bought before I came down with a mysterious illness. At my FNM store I came in 2nd out of 50+ during the Eldrazi tournament. Back then it seemed the Fat pack boxes gave better cards.
