They are the easiest to make, games like god of war 1&2 would look disgusting on ps4 it would have to be completely torn down and remade which takes a lot of time and money (look at final fantasy vii remake). while on the other hand games from last gen are easier bump up the graphics and frame rate and throw a 40 dollar price tag on it and watch the money roll in.

Odin Sphere Leiftrasier is fucking great. I think Atlus does really good remasters. Persona 4 Golden, Odin Sphere Leitrasir, Etrian Odyseey Untold, Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, etc. These are the kind of remasters I really like, where there is noticable content added onto the base game.

Splinter Cell is more or less the modern Siphon Filter these days so it would feel too fimiliar. An isometrical Syndicate Wars (Bullfrog) remake using a heavily modified Star Craft II engine etc would be fantastic, or The Nomad Soul, Evolva, Populous, Messiah (Shiny Entertainment) would all make amazing remakes.

There are a few reasons there have been so many remakes and remasters 1. They have been remaking good quality classics. 2. They aren't as expensive to make as a brand new game would 3. This generation has this fetish with nostalgia, they love old shit for some reason. 4. It gives people a chance to play them if they didn't have the chance to before 5. They're cheap to purchase and therefore, sell more units

Why not the first game? They could probably make a lot of improvements to Elder Scrolls: Arena like have that arena that was originally supposed to be the sole game but couldn't get made so Bethesda decided to make the side role playing stuff the game, so a remake would have an arena as a side thing (quite ironic, wouldn't it be).

Bethesda said that remaking Elder Scrolls 1-4 would take an effort of making a full game, and they'd just rather make Elder Scrolls 6. If Skyrim remastered is funding a brand new engine for Bethesda to run Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 on, I'm all for it.

Something you might want to mention when games are remastered, the developer sometimes uses the international version as the base, like SE and FFX/X-2. So we get all the extras that weren't released out of Japan for most titles.

Since you were wearing an Umbrella shirt, I'm surprised you didn't mention "Resident Evil 4" upgraded. It's still my favorite game in the entire series & the newest PS4 remaster was well worth it. I felt the "ICO/Shadow Of The Colossus" collection also was greatly improved with the HD remastering. I don't know if it's really that necessary to remaster PS3/XBOX-360 games. But if it will make them look better & also correct any problems that were in the originals, then it's probably a good thing. Especially if the price is right. As for remakes, I would love to see a remake of "Out Of This World" aka "Another World" built from the ground up. A few others include "Twisted Metal 2" "D2" "Deep Labyrinth" "Lost In Shadow" "Odama" "The Spiderwick Chronicles" "Narnia: Prince Caspian" "Overblood" "Clock Tower".

Ryui Takagi Interesting, I'm of the opposite opinion, I think ff12 has the best combat system. I always found turn based to be a bit stale. With 7 I could coast through a lot of the game by spamming attack with an occasional heal. (ruby & emerald weapons aside, those fights were pretty challenging.) I enjoyed the kinda live action style battle. Also free movement of your character to avoid attacks was cool I thought. 12 was also pretty open world, versus 7 which was linear. I like both games, and tactics too. 12 was a refreshing original take on a franchise which is more or less same-ish gameplay wise. Tactics is under rated and I'd like to see them do something with that game as well.

Funny thing, you have 2 games on your shelf, sitting there in every episode that I would love to get my hands on again. Lunar Silver Star Story, and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue. Then I'd love to see some of my most beloved games from the PS1, that were obscure even back in the day. Freaking games like Saga Frontier and Azure Dreams. I'd love to see a remake of those games, a good proper remake. Freaking Saga Frontier, while being a collection of the video game equivalent of a collection of Short Stories, was freaking Epic when you go through all the stories and see how they all overlap with each other. Azure dreams was a dungeon crawling crossed with a monster collector, with a harem, while you build up your town. It had a lot of good ideas, and you could tell where they had more ideas, but just couldn't capitalize on it. I'd love to see it remade and actually explore the rest of the ideas and the world. These are games I'd love to see either Remakes of, or at minimum a Re-release of them.

I don't mind remakes, but some of us gamers hate re-buying games we already, even if the graphics are upgraded. By going and doing alot of these remasters, its no wonder backwards compatibility is being put on the chopping block. I want to go back and play some classics without needing to rig up the older system or go back to a last gen console that was compatible with the older systems. With the rise, fall, merging, and rights exchanged in video game companies. its hard to find our favorite games being digitally released. Even by having the original game disk you can't use it because its not supported on newer consoles. So for a majority of us gamers. Backwards Compatibility is a big deal, even if others don't care for it. AlphaOmegaSin you should make a video about backwards compatibility someday. awesome and great video. Happy Gaming

I couldn't agree more man. One of my favourite games growing up was The Warriors for the original x-box. It wasn't a HUGE seller but it sold at least decent numbers and had great reviews, they did an amazing job with both gameplay and paying respect to the movie they got the source material from, in fact I'd say its one of the greatest video games based on a movie ever. But for some stupid reason they won't remake or remaster it. It pisses me off they ignore remaking certain games based on how much they sold the first time, regardless of how good the game was or how much it deserves a remake.

Saying this at 5:01 of video: I skipped out on nearly the entirety of the 7th Gen of gaming, and am ashamed of it. Until Sony makes the PS4 or Neo backwards compatible, i'm fucked on that generation. Those collections of titles are for those like us, and collectors whom like space, I know many people who lack the space for multitudes of the same franchise, yet jump for a collection. It's an individual thing, really. If Neo is Backwards Compatible, i'll agree, but until then, these releases are necessary.

NGL I'm happy for these remakes because I did miss out on a bunch of them. Of course, I'm speaking mostly from the Vita/3DS perspective. FFX, Disgaea 3/4, the MGS set, Persona 4:Golden.... (heck even Zelda as Alpha mentioned) but you really have to think when the majority of my library is 90% ports/remakes rather than original material.

I never played Valkyria Chronicles back in 2008. I bought the remaster for ps4 recently. I am so happy I got to buy and play that game. It is now one of my all time favorite games. I get a warm feeling every time I think about that game, I am so glad they re-released it.

The easy answer is yes, there are way too many remasters. But if at E3 its revealed that we are getting ps4/Xbod one remasters of games like Tales of Vesperia, The Last story, Lost Oddysey, Blue Dragon, God of War ascension or the Final Fantasy xiii trilogy I would be more hyped for that than some next gen all new entry in any of those series. Its especially great when multiple games are released like the uncharted trilogy etc because then you are getting remasters of a big chunk of the franchise. So its tricky, they ARE making lots of remasters this gen, but there is always that one game thats makes people throw money at the screen.

For me i think remasters/HD remakes are important for companies as well as good for us. For example, the oddworld new and tasty last year which brought back the franchise and because it sold well they got enough money to remake abes exodus. As this was one of my favourite games in my childhood i am so happy to see it return and hopefully now we will get to see the pentology like the creators wanted and also we (hopefully) get to see the mudokkon queen sam.

But not only improved the visuals, gameplay and audio a lot, but also put all the games in one package. The Resident Evil Gamecube remake was a rebuilding of the game from the ground up that had an inmense amount of improvements, it wasn't just a bumped-up resolution. But now? All these are just an excuse to make people pay twice for the same game. Edit: I don't get the Nintedo ones, though, considering their consoles are backwards compatible. Sure, games look nicer, but you can still play the originals.

It actually started to go to extreme levels in the 7th generation with the ps3. A lot of compilations/remasters of ps2 games came out on that system, like I never seen before in previous gens (on that level). Now in the current gen it's even worse with the ps4. Now some ps2 games are coming out for ps3/ps vita and ps4 combined. And also ports of vita + ps3 or ps4 or remasters of ps3 games on a ps4. It's a shitload of remasters all over the place. The only two games that ever were actually good if talking about a 'remake' were resident evil remake on the GC and metroid zero mission on the GBA. Those games felt completely new. We need more new IP's in the current gen.

For me, when you give it the treatment as the Megaman Anniversary Collection, the Megaman X Collection, Sonic Mega Collection, and Sonic Gems Collection, I am a happy camper. Not only you're supplying a ton of awesome extras that are unlockable. I am a happy camper. Music, concept art, an option hint system, unlockable rare games, a look into the development history, some remixes, modern features to older games that didn't have them(giving a save feature to the classic games in anniversary collection for example), and some cinematic content to watch. Basically, give a bunch of stuff to look at to really enrich the experience. Sadly, we're not in an era were the idea of loading a game to the brim with content isn't really a thing anymore.

And its entirely not slowing down the process of any other major title being developed now that more and more 3rd parties are getting recognition and involvement.. Why hate on emulators? The retro-gaming market is now becoming overpriced. Emulators have been able to feature: 60 FPS, upscaling games in HD, cheat engines, save states, multi-controller support, online play (netplay), and many more features. Besides, you'll be saving a lot of money too.

***** The only people who would be in that situation are the ones who distribute/give out ROMs on their website. Most of the time they receive a DMCA notice beforehand, (this happened with CoolROM). There has never been a case that I know of where a person has been in custody for downloading ROMs off the internet.. The only way I can think of would be someone using torrents and being caught with their internet provider.

i just bought the legacy collection. it was ten dollars and runs wonderful. it's sad it doesn't have 7 or 8 or the bonus fighting games in the anniversary collection. 8 is a playstation classic. seven should've been included, they're all "classic" mega man.

A good look into what could be the good and the bad of remakes. And yeah there was that Tales of Vesperia for the PS3 that they didn't release in the states that I was sad not to get. So while bringing an old game to a new generation is always nice it's good to have more. With some games that have been rereleased on newer gen systems tend to be games that had a second release in Japan but never came to the states until years later. Most well known example being the Kingdom Heart games and the 1.5 and 2.5 had the final mix versions of the games, and another example being one you have shown is the Tales of Symphonia for the PS3 as while the game originally came out for the Gamecube (being one of my favorite games on the system and all-around) but some time after the original GC game they ported it to the PS2 with more added feature that I take wasn't seen in the states until the PS3 port. If there is any series that brings many remakes to the table it has got to be the Pokemon series that have usually a third game off the current gen but since gen 3 have remakes of the past ones, all with not only updating it but adding new things to the table. The flying on the Lati@s in ORAS is my favorite addition which I hope they keep in all future games along with it reminding me of those past Tales of games. Should I pick a game that would be my personal favorite for this topic I would go with DuckTales Remastered. While not the most complex or deep as any of the others (did beat DT pretty quick) it was fun to play, wonderful graphics that can hold up for years, and having cut scenes with the original cast (being one of the last few times Alan Young would play Scrooge McDuck). So thinking about it when it comes to remakes/remasters what it ultimately comes down to is how much heart they put into it.

Surprised you didn't talk about how the lack of backwards compatibility for PS4 & XBone is one of the main reasons why a lot of last gen games have gotten remakes. You talked about how gamers can miss games and thus this is a way for them to play it, but not about the lack of compatibility. I agree with remakes and remasters where graphics are improved and/or new features/gameplay improvements are added, it's why I'm glad that Batman Arkham Asylum & City are being remade on the Unreal 4 Engine for Return to Arkham as it gives people who do have the original and enjoyed the original a reason to consider checking out. If it had been a straight up port I would've just been upset about how there is no PS3 disk compatibilty like the Wii U can play Wii disks. I'd still get the games because I don't have a PS3 but I am glad that the visuals have been improved...or at least some parts look better than the original. Kind of split on the graphic improvements, as are a lot of people. Cutscenes are now ingame as apposed to pre-rendered so while alternate skins will be in cutscenes, a lot of lighting and effects won't be (unless they actually do improve the cutscenes before release), and some character models look better while others look worse in some regards. Don't like how Joker's suit looks less dirty compared to the original, felt like he actually had a fight with Batman before the start of Asylum. In general I believe a remake should be made of a game that is at least two gens behind where the graphic improvements are like night & day. I only accept the existence of remakes of last gen when the console doesn't have backwards compatibility, don't like it but I accept the fact that otherwise I wouldn't be able to play the game without the original system if the remake wasn't made. :P "Nintendo does their HD conversions fucking phenomenally" Ironically, there's also a split on that as well because the 3DS remakes of the N64 Zelda games were done really well, especially if you compare them side-by-side (those who said that they were barely any different were being blinded by nostalga), but the HD remakes of the GCN Zelda games weren't as different. Better Textures: Yes Better Shading & Lighting: Yes Better Models: No The models are still the gamecube models, which for Wind Waker it worked because of the art style, but the Twilight Princess models stuck out like sore thumbs because of it's realistic style. Look, I loved the remake and am grateful for it because I didn't get into Zelda until 2011 and never got around to buying the Wii or GCN version but constantly while I was playing TPHD I was thinking "if only the models had been remade, textures look amazing but the models are so bad with the exception of Midna's face, her face is so high poly!" Would've loved to see Wolf Link with actual fur like Donkey Kong in DKC Tropical Freeze or Smash Bros Wii U or hell Smash Bros Brawl. They were so close yet so far. :( The levels looked fine but the characters were just too blocky. I know there's factors like how long they got to work on it, "yah well Zelda U is supposed to show off the power of the Wii U", etc, but the fact of the matter is that the models being the original GCN models hurts the port and makes it not as good of an upgrade as Ocarina of Time 3D where all of the models were improved. It was only the characters that looked too low poly and you see them all the time while playing the game which is why I believe that more time should've been given so they could improve the character models. It's funny how the 3D ports are more of an upgrade than the HD ports regarding the Zelda games. Again, I loved the remakes and am very grateful that I could experience Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on console, but I just wish more time had been given to the team to make the models better.

I just see these remasters as updated DVDs. You know like when they're originally only on VHS and so they edit the video, make it clearer with the video and audio, add some special features and place it on a disc. This is the closest we'll get with video games so I'm fine with it, it's good too because sometimes I miss games from last gen and now I can play a more complete edition that looks nicer and usually has a higher framerate and it tends to be cheaper. I don't see it as a problem, it doesn't detract from getting new games, it's just added filling to it, a topping if you will and you don't need to add it if you don't want to.

I think in Resident Evil HD and Resident Evil 0 HD is actually a case were it was necessary considering that some people didn't even know they existed until Capcom announced the Remasters. To add on both games ended up getting new content while it was major for for RE0HD with a side of DLC where as REmake HD only got two new costumes. That said it's new content it gives people a reason to pick it up. While I like that we get remasters I would mostly prefer pre PS3/XB360 era, and hopefully get some kind of new content.

Skipped/didn't have the gamecube, xbox (original ), ps3, xbox 360 , ds and Wii. I have primarily been a PC gamer for most of my life. The Wii U was great because I got to play bayonetta 1, zleda windwaker hd, Monster hunter 3 ultimate and a really good port of Injustice gods among us. I like the idea of remasters/remakes if it allows people to either revisit games or experience older games for the first time. I have found that the resolution of older games on PC isn't such a big issue because many older games either had better resolution to begin with compared to console games of the time or had the higher resolution settings patched/updated into them at a later date. Neverwinter nights is a pc game released in 2002 that can run at 1920x1080 which is far above standard HD.

There was also the DBZ Budokai HD Collection. Didn't include 2 & it had its music replaced because of Kenji Yamamoto's termination because of his plagiarism, & the widescreen conversion was half-assed for everything but the fight screens, but I loved those games as a kid & when I played 3, it was years after it came out & I had a shitty PS2 that overheated too quickly, but I could play it on my Xbox 360 finally. Only wish Bandai Namco would either port it to current-gen consoles, with 2, & program online multiplayer, or make it backwards compatible on Xbox One, but either way, it was great to have for me, especially since I was getting back into DBZ through Kai at the time, so it was the absolute right timing.

You know what games were rereleased from the original Xbox era to the 360 era? Tomb Raider Legend, Halo 1, Lego Star Wars (I think), and Call of Duty Classic off the top of my head. A game series I would LOVE to see again would be the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series which was an EA series surprisingly, they were good games and if they released them on current hardware it would look just f*cking amazing

The ones I bought definitely worth it for me since I skipped out on the NDS, Wii, PS2, and PS3 era. Like the Uncharted Collection, Last of US, FF10/X-2, Tales of Hearts/Abyss, Persona 4 Golden, Muramasa Rebirth, Metal Gear Solid HD collection. Hell the LoZ games Wind Waker and OoT/Majora's Mask 3D were great even though I played the hell out of those as a kid. Recently bought Odin Sphere Leifthrasir on both Vita and PS4 (storybook edition) completely on a gamble since I haven't experienced it on the PS2 and Vanillaware still has yet to disappoint me with their fun and gorgeous games so hell yeah that was definitely worth it too. Makes me even more excited once Sentinel 13 gets made. So yeah, I guess that really depends. I would like to see more of the older games get a nice HD touch up or completely remade. Like imagine dragon kicking people's ass to the Milky Way in God Hand at 60fps+ and 1080p. Or hell even higher if your shit can handle it cuz why not.

8:20 Yep, they did that with my Dragon Quest series, with Dragon Quest Heroes. They gave us that one, and basically decided the fate of Dragon Quests 7 & 8 for the 3ds coming west, based off how well Heroes did, which, thankfully, sold well enough that they are bringing them over. (Especially 7, that was my favorite, and it's going to be a completely remade version as well) Now I can only hope they give us Dragon Quest 11, both versions. Hopefully 7 & 8 sell well enough that they decide to bring it over as well, I mean, they are already bringing DQ builders here (already preordered) so I can only hope. We'll never get 10, I've given up on that.

I'm glad they did the uncharted collection. I had a 360 and never had a PS3, and went over to Sony this gen. Never got the chance to play Uncharted, and I wasn't going to buy a PS3, and it introduced me to what is now my favorite gaming series. Uncharted 4 is my favorite video game, ever, and I've been playing games since I was 5, and I'm 35 now. So the Nathan Drake collection was for people like me, and I'm glad they released it

I love the FFX remaster. The new Sphere Grid they added is much more fun, letting you design everyone in a more unique way, but you can really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing. Get Yuna the black magic spells in the beginning, she makes Lulu obsolete quick. Later in, she can duck into Lulu's areas to get the other spells along the way too before carrying on with her white magic. Also got her into Rikku's areas for Steal and Use pretty early, so she was stealing items long before we got Rikku. And Lancet for MP recovery. I broke the heck out of Yuna... But hey, at least she didn't get so strong that her aeons could one-shot bosses or anything *Ifrit hits 9999 damage on Chocobo Eater* o.o oops... But it can't get worse than that, right..? *Bahamut hits Valefor for 99999 damage in the Via Purifico* >.>; Guess she doesn't really need guardians anymore...

I don't mind remakes, I think it's good to have remakes for many reasons. 1) they're a good way to fill in the gap when developing new games considering that games are getting longer to make, this is a good thing. 2) There is new audiences for these games to finally be able to play these games. A great example is Orcarina of Time 3D, it was over a decade between the initial release and the remake, this gave so many people who were too young or just plain not born yet to experience a game many of us loved in our youths. 3) Tends to be a good job for smaller studios.

When the PS4 came out and i immediately started seeing remasters like Tomb Raider that were 1080p/60fps versions of last gen games which originally were 720p/30fps. I quickly thought of a list of games id like to see remastered that was on PS3: Uncharted 1, 2, 3 The Last of Us Infamous 1, 2, Festival of Blood DLC Metal Gear Solid 4 So far two of those on that list have come out. Ive already read a rumor that a remaster of the first Infamous game is coming out later this year. That just leaves the final infamous titles and of course MGS4 which i would buy day 1.

I'm with remakes and remasters because it's a great way to help newcomers to get into their chosen franchise to play readily available instead of tracking older, harder to find or out of print releases for older or discontinued consoles. I got the PS4 Uncharted collection because I have now an interest in playing the games and I got the Resident Evil Origin Collection because I didn't own a Game Cube and couldn't play Resident Evil Remake and Zero. I also bought the Metal Gear collection because I never had the original Metal Gear games.

Once again great input. I like it best when they add more content, combine sequels along with upgraded visuals. For me I'm pretty well verse with emulators so much as willing to edit the source code if I need to so I need more of a reason than a quick port or just some new textures to warrant a purchase of a game I already own on older machines. Sonic 1, 2, CD remasters on Android (Consoles and PC for the CD one) are done by an indie dev and pretty much puts the games on a new engine with lots of extra features we all dreamed of back in the day. Nothing you can't easily get from Sonic hacks on a rom but considering the dev and some crazy things like Sonic 2 bonus stages in full 3D and a secret stage fully restored along with wide screen it's pretty worth the, what, three bucks, ya everyone should have those. Bit of ironic though as the 3DS ports do hardly anything sides 3D effects. Plus Sonic 3 remaster may never happen due to unknown (likely legal fears over music) reasons and that would have been one of the best of the bunch. Megaman Legacy I think could have done a ton better. Anniversary collection had all the games so no real excuse even at a discounted price. It even included the arcade game and extra features too. The Gomeboy games never had their Anniversary collection on the GBA sadly and that would have been nice to see them fixed up and properly colored, no reason they can't bring those back either.

The Uncharted Collection got me into the franchise in a big way, after never really being interested back on the PS3, so it's kind of hard for me to argue against remakes or remasters in general terms. Now I am a huge Nate Drake fan, and Naughty Dog fan in general, and I doubt I would have been otherwise. And I played Silent Hill 2 for the first time in the Silent Hill collection on PS3. Finally saw what I'd missed out on first time round. I think if they're done well, embellished, and add something to the originals that make them worth buying, then they can be a good thing. If only for people who never played the games first time around. Even relatively recent games, such as Uncharted. The Resident Evil remake needs to be exposed to as many people as possible, to show what happens when Capcom put some effort in, and what a remake can be like when done well. Even if it's a remaster of a remake of a classic. It's exceptional. As with most things gaming though, there will always be some lazy attempts at a cheap cash in, but you take the bad with the good, and like you say, more choice is always a good thing. Are there games that could benefit from a remake or remaster? A metric crapton for sure. I could probably list a hundred I'd like to see. 99% of which will never likely see the light of day. But if one does, and it's awesome, then why not. Please, please let it be Vagrant Story.

PS4), its not like their parents will say, "Now, Jimmy, since only the fourth game in the series is available for PS4, we also bought you a PS3, PS2 and N64" or some shit, so being able to get Jimmy a PS4 and a collection plus the latest installment is more convenient to the non-adult collector/gamers.

18:55 WindWaker HD is available in Europe for 24.99, so if you dig a little bit into soft-modding the WiiU, you can get the PAL version and play it on your console. Or maybe they are going to go the Nintendo Selects Route in America as well, who knows? ^^

I'd perfer to see more classic compilations like the Mega Man Anniversary collection. Or how about Remixes? I would love to see, for example, an HD Super Mario All Stars with the NSMBWU playstyle, maybe having levels for all the original games mixed together or a Mario Party Remix with boards and mini-games from each of the entries. Or a Mega Man game with bosses from different games. (Or perhaps random levels though that would require some creative work on the Wily levels so that you wouldn't be stuck if you didn't have certain weapons at certain spots.)

I "guess" it's not an issue if it doesn't get in the way of developers making new stuff. There are remakes that need to be made to get more eyes on them and it's true that there are remakes of games that didn't really need to be made and it's more about milking money out of it. Though it is true that there's a certain risk of remaking a game that didn't initially sell well because they might put effort into it only for it to be just as undersold. So a company/developer has to be up to taking that risk. "But" generally the best way to play a game is on it's original hardware anyway. So rare or not, it would still likely be best to track down the original game on the original system for the best experience. Of course you've gotta know about it first and games that have faded into obscurity are tough to learn about unless you are actively looking for hidden gems, but that also may apply to any remade games... So it's a pretty complex topic.

The way I see it, movies get remastered all the time on the latest formats. For example, Ghostbusters is super old and I first experienced it via a Blu-Ray version and it's amazing how great a movie that old can look in HD. It doesn't happen as often with games cause a lot more work is nessecary to remaster them, but as many games as possible should be accessible to current generations one way or another. Plus, it's a lot harder and very expensive to get older games in their original forms looking okay on modern displays from original hardware and CRTs will not last forever. Like them or not, I say remasters are very much welcome.

YES. The PS3 version of Vesperia is the one we deserve, but sadly did not receive...YET. I do wish Tales of the Abyss would get a proper remaster on the PS4, heck, even going multi and also being on the NX. Both Abyss and Vesperia are my two absolute favorite Tales games. Surprised you didn't even mention Nintendo's #1 remake fodder, Pokemon! Classic example of remaking a nostalgic, but poorly-aged game to fit better with the times and progress made along the way (Red vs. FireRed). Not only that, but also using that process of remakes as part of a continuing story line or retconning in new ideas through cleverly-written lore and world-building.

I don't often make comments on here but I often think about this whole trend with remasters and remakes, so why not? I can see the reason for some of them. The Uncharted Collection was to help build hype on PS4, as well as make an easily accessible package for any gamers that crossed over to the PS4 from the 360 etc. Same with Ratchet & Clank. In Capcom's case I feel like a lot of the old material they've been remastering and remaking is a mixture of putting their feelers out in the market and see what people want, and also a kind of apology to their older fans that feel they lost their way with many of their franchises. Square seemed to be stuck in a rut, and are relying on remasters/remakes to remain relevant. Final Fantasy 15 will hopefully be their return to form, but what I hear about the FF7 remake isn't really hyping me either... You know what I'm really quite surprised hasn't been remade or remastered yet? The Spyro games!

I think HD remasterings are good to introduce older games to younger gamers. For example, the Jak, Ratchet, and Sly Cooper HD remasterings were a good things, because those were some of the best games on the PS2, and without the re-releases a lot of younger gamers wouldn't ever get to play them; unfortunately, a lot of gamers this generation don't like to go back and play older games. That's also why I hope they remaster Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Destroy All Humans, which were platformers that I DO feel got overlooked. I'd also like the three I previously mentioned to get remastered again in the future, maybe towards the end of the PS4's lifespan, whenever that will be.

I think it's annoying how games that are less than 5 years old are getting remasters. If it's games that came out 10-15+ years old then I understand remastering them because either they're hard to find or people don't have the consoles for them, but if it's something that's barely 6-7 years old and can be bought used for $1-$10 then it's pointless to pay $30-$60 just to it play on a new consoles.

I would prefer older games made into collections rather than last gen being ported up to current gen. The only two things I would really care for would be a Tales collection and Battle Network collection. With Tales, a lot of the older games are expensive as fuck. Tales of Destiny II (Eternia) is $80+, depending on how complete of a game you want for your collection. I'd love to see a Tales collection with the first 5 or 6 games in the series, giving us English versions of the real Destiny 2 and Rebirth for the first time too. As for Battle Network, those games would do well from getting console or modern handheld collections complete with online capabilities. My biggest issue with the Wii U virtual console versions is the lack of multi player. As a kid, playing against my friends was my favorite part of those games. I'd love for that to return with online or at least local wireless if it's on Vita or 3DS.

You cant go wrong with omegasin. Dude said it all when selecting silent hill 2 as one of the best of the genre. This game is perfect. Greetings from Brazil
