If you had to force me to choose between the Two Towers game and Return of the King, I'd pick Return of the King, because of more freedom between what character you choose, and there's a hidden co-op option. Overwatch's loot boxes are of the harmless variety that are completely optional and has absolutely no affect on the gameplay. It's all for show, and strictly that. Even if you don't buy them, you still get them anyway just by playing the game. If people want to spend a little money just to make their avatars look a little prettier, so be it. It's not like they're using a pay-to-win model. The pay-to-win bullshit is part of what qualifies as the "not so harmless" microtransactions. That's the shit that needs to go.

Hell, I just got Mario Sunshine and Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex in the mail today, two games I loved to death when I was younger, and I’ve got the hardware to play them (a BC Wii and a PS2 BC PS3, assuming Crash works properly).

Especially with Ninja Theory paving the way and showing the industry that publishers aren't needed whatsoever for quote unquote "AAA" quality. Frankly indies have been shaming bigger productions about as far back as Doom 1 and now their shitty pissant money-grubbing tactics are blunting the little edge they had over indies and that's scope, graphics and debateably at one point refinement, but here come rushed launches, cut content and loot boxes/microtransactions

I REALLY like Visceral.I absolutely adored DEAD SPACE 1 and 2 and for a under-rated survival horror games franchise they perfectly encapsulated the legendary movie quote "In space,no one can hear you scream" and that motif is what made DEAD SPACE great and terrifying to play at the same time.The least important game was DEAD SPACE 3 and since EA had meddled in with the games development they injected the infamous Microtransactions into a already well established games franchise and it was EA that killed DEAD SPACE.But my least and eerily creepy enemy in DEAD SPACE 2 was those little possessed children aka The Crawlers.But the most difficult achievement/trophy is to complete the game on Hardcore difficulty and to complete the game in just under 3 saves which is a mode that is designed for those people with lots of time and lots of skill and has mastered the game.A mode that will reward the legendary Hand Cannon upon completion. So many fun times and memories was made with DEAD SPACE 1 and 2 and I don't think we will ever see a game like this ever again which is a real shame and a wasted opportunity to revive the DEAD SPACE franchise. I am calling it now but the creators of Burnout CRITERION are next on the chopping block.

I've notice this pattern from EA whenever they shutdown a studio. The studio releases 2 games that are critically pan then EA pulls the plug. With Visceral, it was Dead Space 3 and Battlefield Hardline. Previous examples that I can think of are Maxis (Sim City and Sim 4), EALA/Danger Close (Command and Conquer 4 and Medal of Honor Warfighter) and Westwood (Command and Conquer Renegade and Earth and Beyond).

You know, seeing two of my favorite franchises being shut down because of a company's greed hurts. Especially since I was in middle school when Dead Space and Dante's Inferno came out, feels like more of my childhood is just being lost to the desire of not having a good storyline. Game developers please make sure your corporate overlords know that not everyone wants to play a reskined skyrim game or even another COD. I am aware that people will play games like skyrim and COD. They sell and that is great, but I honestly end up putting games that are that big on the back burner in favor of shorter games. Hell I have like 600 some odd games in steam that are just waiting to be beaten. I play some of them, but I have so little time to play them all. Especially a game that trys to cram everything into it that AAA developers have been doing. I do get tired of seeing every sort of way they try to get extra money too. If they were going to do DLC effectively in things like Bethesda's creation club or well really any of the games that offer it they need to make these products cheaper. For example they could bundle a large amount of them for a nominal cost. Humm oh yeah they used to call that expansion packs. At the very least you would think that if they were just going to try to get you to buy something small as in a singular in game item then it would be a dollar or under, but many times its much more than that. Lets not even get started on loot boxes. I'm sure everyone already knows how that system is flawed and likened to gambling. Personally I'm sticking to indie titles for the most part. They are short and sweet and don't take up a huge chunk of space. Plus a lot of the times they focus on a linear story which is great. It doesn't take up to much time and I can get a good story. Sure open world stories can be fun as well, but I can only seem to play so much of games like minecraft, terraria and other games that just plop you into the game world. It just kind of gets tedious and boring after a while and I still have so many games on the back burner.

Look, I know it's been almost a year since this video was uploaded. But, I just re-warched it to show it to a friend and I have to say... As always, I agree totally 100% with everything you said. I too was introduced to EA with the LOTR games and loved them, also loved ALL the Dead Space games, also am a fan of story mode/campaign in games rather than everything being exclusively online or exclusively multiplayer. Hopefully one day we can get gaming corporations like EA and Bungie to understand that we DO FUCKING EXIST! And that our contribution to their wallet of the initial $70 or so should be fucking appreciated. Rock on man, and keep doing what you do! 🤘

Battlefront 3 wasn't going to be developed by Pandemic, but rather Free Radical Studios (TimeSplitters). They got shut down by EA too, by way of using Crytek as a scapegoat.

I went out and bought a used copy of Dante for 360 months ago, to make sure I still owned that game - since it isn't BC or ported anywhere. Started a new playthrough a few weeks ago but I'm entirely with you.
