I love what you're doing here-- its very similar to something I do. I use water soluble crayons and build a medium thick layer which I then allow to dry completely. I use very wet but not dripping paper and transfer with a large brayer, aka: rolling pin. Sometimes I rework the plate for multiple prints. Thanks for sharing this!

Saundra York thanks so much. I would love to see your process. It's so satisfying to pull that print, isn't it?
@saundrayork7676 жыл бұрын
I have a couple projects to finish; but then I'll have time to do this and I will try to record it. Yes it is satisfying!! When I finish, I put them up on the wall to stare at for a few days/weeks

Very impressive - the only thing I wonder about is the use of detergent. Detergents break down and degrade paint. Couldn't you use acrylic gel medium instead? Also - I wonder how clay carving tools, made of rubber, would work for subtracting watercolor away to create highlights? Great video and you've made me want to try this. I actually have pieces of Plexiglass laying around.

Great stuff very impressed with that, I really liked how it looked before you went to print it on paper... I was like no way that is gonna look as good on paper especially when you said it dried up. Thanks.

I would be leery of using the soap myself, just being worried about how it would affect the archivalness of the paper, but I'm going to try the same thing with Golden Open Acrylic paints (which have a much longer drying time than other acrylics). This is a very nifty idea. I've been looking for a simpler way to posterise photographs for art purposes. :)

it looks really great can't wait to try this technique. did you use the paint full strength or did you add some water. What colors did you use?

Excellent technique- thanks for this video however I have a question regarding the ink jet transfer -I’m hoping you will answer me. Did you print out on the dollar tree thin vinyl your adorable picture , in black ink ( I have one black cartridge & one color cartridge) is it a must to print only with black cartridges or can I print out with what I have?
@naysworld4 жыл бұрын
@margery Ciambra Thank you, i printed with an ink jet printer in color. I don't think it matters, black vs color, just as long as the contrast is good. Have fun!!

Just found this video. Are you using watercolour paints right from the tube - ie adding almost no water? Thx.

Yes, it's watercolor. Thanks for watching!! Happy new year

Wow, nice one! Why didn't I think of that??

(To add to my comment below) At the printing stage, I wonder if you couldn't put a blank sheet of paper over the back of the print to protect it and then rub it with a spoon.
