10 minutes of reading, 45 minutes of random mythology. Yep, its Schwifty

Norse myths are definitely a lot of fun, the rope binding fenris was the footsteps of a cat, roots of a mountain, it's rad Only Tyr was brave enough to sacrifice his hand, Odin and Thor said hell no The best though is the jotun Utgård Loki, they have Thor and Loki compete in wrestling, eating contest, running, drinking, and they lose terribly in each one until later it turns out each challenge was weighted against them and they actually did insanely well, like lifting Jormugandr, wrestling old age, and drinking from the sea causing the tides

There's a lot of other parallels, Jaime as Tyr, bloodraven as Odin, King Bob as Thor, freyr and Freya, rhaegar as Baldur, the beloved beautiful god of light struck down in his prime, theres parallels with a lot of the characters

Bet Schwift had his fucking mind blown when he finally discovered that corvids (ravens, crows, etc) can actually talk.
@btarczy50673 жыл бұрын
Well, they can talk alright but I haven‘t heard about any insightful commentary or prophetic allusions from the corvid community... Yet.

"One of the magical things is that ravens can talk" Um, my dude. Ravens can talk irl Unless you mean the magical thing is that in this world the things they say mean something.
@fuzzydunlop79284 жыл бұрын
Ravens always mean what they say, it’s just that everything they say means “gib food” if they approach you in public.

You want your pommel to be heavy as a counterweight to the long blade.
@gothicusmaximus56972 жыл бұрын
I believe the book notes that the pommel is heavy to compensate for the lightness of the steel, or something

Palpatine's name was only added because of Disney. In the novel Darth Plagueis a big point was made about Palpatine "rejecting the name he was given, rather than the dynasty he was born into"

You should look up the Chandelier tree in B.C, Canada that you can drive a car through. So many big trees on the west coast of Canada. I have a panoramic pic I had a stranger take of myself and 2 of my friends when we visited these trees in BC. We are standing by this monstrous tree and it took 3 pics in order to capture the entire tree, and the tree of us look like ants at the base of tree, thats how big it was, and we figured we would need another 15 people to join us in order to link hands around that huge tree. BC is filled with old growth trees that are thousands of years old and the evil timber companies are cutting them all down. The mid evil kings started cutting down white pines here in Canada in the 1600s to make ship masts for wartime since the uK cut down all their old forests in the stone ages. Canadians were told to leave the white pines for the Queen.

We dont live in a world where old isnt important. We live in a world where many believe that the old isnt important. The old is still as important as ever. Just because you are hooked on cocaine, porn, social media or some new ideology doesnt mean the wisdom of the old isnt valuable. It only means you are weak and the same weakness has always been in people. People have learned how to combat that weakness and they have passed the knowledge along. You just have to find it.

@@peterjoyfilms The OP goes on a tangent about old world wisdom and modern decadence. The divine herald of the ancient Greek pantheon descends from Mount Olympus with a message reading simply “OK boomer.” Feels good.
