I like the music! The video was awesome too. Even though I stopped attending meetings as a teen, I’ve only just started (in my 40s) to really process what it meant to be raised as a JW and how it really impacted my life and personality and ability to function in relationships. I think I thought fir years that I got through unscathed bc I wasn’t ever trapped, ie baptized. But as I learn more about what this organization really is and how it truly is a cult, my whole life and so much about how I am who I am starts to become clear. I was never “strong in the truth” so I only ever really understood the main points of the JW theology bc they were drilled into our heads, but my bible knowledge is so poor (bc I found it super confusing and even more boring) that I just never knew how little JW beliefs even reflected what’s in the Bible. So this video is super helpful! Thank you. Love all your videos. Please keep making them!

The problem with this, as I see it, is this: Adam and Eve were perfect when satan was able to trick them into disobeying god. After which Adam and Eve become imperfect. Then god says: "OK satan, you have a go at ruling mankind now. let's see how well you rule." The trouble is, the playing field is not level: satan is being asked to have a go at ruling imperfect people (who now total 7 billion), while god had a go at ruling perfect people (and only 2 of them). So how can this demonstrate anything? The "wager" is totally askew.

The entire fact that they believe Jehovah intervenes, not only through major events such as the flood, but daily by answering JW’s prayers giving them secular jobs, giving them peace of mind during life crises, and manipulating the minds and choices of outsiders so they will not be persecuted in certain circumstances. (I.E boss who typically gets angry at JW employee for insisting on missing OT for midweek meetings, but after prayer that boss suddenly acts differently and allows the JW to leave work and attend the meeting) This is so problematic in their teacher/student analogy.

Excellent video, showing the dilemma a “true believer” faces AND the way the GB ramps up the “It’s Your Responsibility” trickery . How any JW can take Splane’s words seriously and not experience a head explosion shows that by far most JWs automatically take the blame for Jehovah not drawing new ones into the organization. Recruitment works? Praise Jah! Recruitment fails? Scrutinise your failed effort. BTW, I studied the 1968 Bible Study aid, “The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life”. It was “affectionately” called “the Truth book” and, among other gems, it had an impressive graph that started at 1914 and arrowed into the then future just past 1975 loudly hinting that year was Biblically significant. This book was “perfect for its time and considered a revolutionary Bible Study aid in its day because at that time Bible Studies had become very drawn out with students failing to move towards baptism. Sounds very familiar. So Splane needs to face up to the fact that in this man-made religious organization, history is simply repeating itself. The more things change…..

One thing that got me was the Tower of Babel story. God literally looks down on humans creating this tower and goes Genesis 11 6 Jehovah then said: “Look! They are one people with one language, and this is what they have started to do. Now there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be impossible for them. 7 Come! Let us go down there and confuse their language in order that they may not understand one another’s language.” So under watchtowers interpretation that’s basically God admitting that he has to actively cause division In order to prevent humans from succeeding. Now I’m sure that’s not what the original authors meant when they wrote the story but it definitely doesn’t fit with watchtowers theology.

This movement, which should have naturally disappeared by itself after the bitter failure of 1914, has been telescoped (by chance and two or three months apart) by the First World War to finally reborn from these ashes and find new impetus until 2010. This is how the little story will meet the big one for its greatest benefit. Since then, this movement flows from year to year to arrive today with a double generation and -0.6 of decrease and more than 20,000 anointed.

Indeed, the continued existence of the JWs after the 1914 end of the world prophecy failure is entirely due to serendipity! World War 1 was conveniently used to come up with an alternate explanation after the prophecy failure and people bought the explanation hook, line & sinker!

Excellent explanation. I think what led me out of Catholicism was kind of related to this. The idea that God only deserves to rule if he truly displays the ultimate benevolence that Christians claim. But when I considered the idea that humans suffer supposedly because of the fall of our ancestors, the idea that some are punished eternally (or destroyed if you're a JW) rather than fairly punished and rehabilitated, the idea that there's no room for dissent or disagreement on issues that don't harm others. All of it boils down to the conclusion for me that God doesn't need to be worshipped, he needs to be questioned and challenged. Maybe he even created sentient life because he wanted other perspectives than his own. But I knew I couldn't serve with blind adoration even if I wanted to.

Thank you for this video! The vindication of Jehovah’s sovereignty/God’s right to rule theme was one of the things that kept me in the religion; I bought it hook, line & sinker and no one could convince me otherwise. I applaud your excellent reasoning and deep insight to be able to uncover the fact that we can’t really know whether humans are capable of ruling themselves because they’ve never had the chance to do so independent of the guidance of some powerful spirit creature and, of course, it is not stated in the Bible that God will allow Satan to rule mankind for a time to prove that his rule is inferior.

Gold Aussie Girl seems to have disappeared, but this comment is for her: Please note that my point is not about whether the fruit had inherent life-giving qualities or the interpretation of what the fruit represents. According to Genesis 2:16: “And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from ANY TREE in the garden;” (NIV). This would have included the tree of life. It was only after their disobedience that Adam & Eve could no longer eat from the tree of life. So if Adam & Eve did not disobey God, they would still need to eat from the tree of life in order to be able to live forever, so they were never created immortal/perfect to begin with.

How much proof does God need in order to settle the issue of the vindication of His sovereignty? According to the Watchtower, 1975 marked 6,000 years of human existence, so over 6,000 years have passed since the Garden of Eden incident. Meanwhile millions of people suffer and die daily while God figures out whether He has enough evidence to settle the issue. One would think that God would try to vindicate His sovereignty in a way that minimizes human suffering.

WT literature relies on the teacher analogy currently. In the 80’s Live Forever book, the analogy was of a parent allowing a medical procedure on a child that was uncomfortable/painful because the parents understood that the end result would be better, even if the child could not understand. Regardless of which analogy they will favor a decade or two from now, it always presupposes that the tree/fruit was real. The tree in the center of the garden. The focal point of their home was off-limits.

@Peter Albert Hall God did not state and could not have stated in Genesis or the rest of the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) that He will allow Satan to rule mankind for a time to prove that his rule is inferior for the following reasons: I refer you to the research done by Bible historians who study the ancient manuscripts from which the Bible was taken. They do so, not from a belief or unbelief point of view but from the point of view of trying to understand what happened in the past, much like studying any other historical topic like World War 2, for example. According to Bible historians oyc.yale.edu/religious-studies/rlst-145/lecture-4 : There’s no devil or Satan character in the Hebrew Bible. The snake in Eden is simply a talking animal. He’s a standard literary device that you see in fables of this period, and later, the kind that you find, for example, in the fables of Aesop. oyc.yale.edu/religious-studies/rlst-145/lecture-20# : There’s no such notion of a devil or Satan in the Hebrew Bible. The phrase, “the satan,” occurs four times in the Hebrew Bible, in Job and in Numbers 22 and in Zechariah3. “The satan” is simply a member of the divine counsel - ONE OF GOD’S MINIONS whose function it is to investigate affairs on earth and to act as a kind of prosecuting attorney. He has to bring evildoers to justice. And it’s only in later Jewish, and especially Christian thought, that the term loses the definite article - from “the satan” which means “the prosecutor” essentially, the prosecuting attorney - and becomes a proper name, Satan, for an enemy or opponent of God. This later concept of Satan develops as a means of explaining evil without attributing it to God, but that isn’t the function of "the satan" in the book of Job. HE WORKS FOR GOD and when Yahweh boasts of his pious servant Job, the prosecuting angel wonders, as his portfolio requires him to do, whether Job’s piety is sincere.

@@annderby6295 You have a point there. I think God knew he had to push Adam and Eve to eat from the forbidden fruit. The concept of Satan as an enemy or opponent of God was a later development to explain evil without attributing it to God oyc.yale.edu/religious-studies/rlst-145/lecture-20#. That 10% thing has been debunked. Turns out the brain multi-processes things but some are area dependent and others involve wider areas and memories are stored and mixed here and there, and certain parts have very specific purposes and aren't interested in other things, some areas can pick up the slack and some things we need our brains to do can't be picked up if the main area doing it is damaged. Some times huge amounts of processing is going on, other times not so much. The 10% thing is kind of the mind idling when little stimuli is going on.

Muhammad was visited by the archangel Gabriel. There was not a true word coming from this angel, when compared with the Bible, so it must have been Satan the devil in disguise. He was never allowed to return to heaven after this, because he had got the mission to submit the Arabian people to islam. He got threehundred years to spread the religion before another angel imprisoned him in the abyss for a thousand years. Satan has now been released to deceive the nations, for the final battle, against the jewish nation of Israel. Ez.38,39 Rev.20:7-10 17:40 into the video: "If this interpretation of prophesy in the book of Ezekiel and the entire book goes in with the assumption that all of the above is true..." - GB has taught JW, that Israel in the book of Ezekiel shall be them and not the fleshly jews. This cannot be true and if it is not true, what becomes of JW. They will not be more special in the eyes of Jehova, than any other christian group of people. If we read the chapters it is obvious, that Jehova is talking about his chosen people, the jews.

In short: The JW's deny the deity of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST - this is deadly: if you believe that our LORD s only a created being you can NOT be saved!!! JESUS CHRIST is GOD, see John 1! HE always existed with the FATHER and the HOLY SPIRIT = the GODHEAD or Trinity. Thank JESUS for paying for your sins on the cross and HIS resurrection on the 3rd day!!! It must come form the bottom of your heart. Listen to great evangelists like Dr. John Ankerberg and Dr. David Reagan and their guests.

Adam & Eve were never created perfect/immortal as the Watchtower claims. According to Genesis 3:22 - 24, Adam & Eve could not naturally live forever. In order for Adam & Eve to live forever, they needed to eat from the tree of life. So Adam & Eve were created mortal just like you and me.

The society definitely believes that. Read an Awake magazine article of only a few years ago that said "cats are perfect" but I know of several that have died of cat leukemia and other causes. So, no, the gb does not believe in absolute perfection but rather some form of relative or subjective perfection. It would confirm this to me if they say some thing of the Perfect Jesus would die if he had not been crucified if he didn't find a magic tree some where to eat of its special fruit sort of thing.

@@davidburroughs2244 Not sure the point you're trying to make. Are agreeing or disagreeing with the fact that even if Adam & Eve didn't sin, they could not naturally have lived forever? Even if they didn't sin, they would still need to eat of the tree of life to keep living, so they weren't created immortal/perfect to begin with.

Cool story bro. Should do a video on what the bible is actually about then. I'm not a JW, but only a scrub would incite something and not show the correction. You need to make God somebody in your mind and life. I put him on a high horse because who is higher than God? I think your just someone who gives in, but hey, you keep enjoying that life from Jah brotha 😉

@@altworldly right... Again, so whats the bible actually about then bub? It is about what you are arguing it is not. Jah will be vindicated. You think of the example, heck even watchtower thinks of it as a math teacher. No. Imagine a true Infinte power housed in a master monk. Don't imagine a student. Imagine specialist. Each one serves the grand master a purpose. Every student is Gucci until one student says, the Master has a scared scroll hidden from you and if you read it you would be Master. That is what we call a lie. But. Quit focuing on proving anyone wrong and start focusing on proving the Grand Master right.
