After about 20 years working, I'll tell young people you should not have any loyalty to any organization, they will turn on you in a second when its convenient and fire/replace you. Also to ensure no slavery, young people dont get married and dont get a girl pregnant, make sure she takes the birth control pill daily in front of you and both wear protection. You will just condemn your new child to increasing poverty and freedomless slavery and these control/money/job trends worsen. Promote this idea in videos and social media to help prevent more young people into this new slavery.

Sorry but that doesn't sound better. Doesn't matter if companies are "honest" or fake, the end result is the same, they pay you poorly and hope you can't find another better job so they get to keep their cheap labour as long as possible. @@nopedefinitelynotnahthatsnotme what do you suggest as an alternative then? if a company only makes $50k/year and can only afford to pay 1 employee $30k/year, do you expect the owner to give their 1 employee more than what the owner makes from their own company just because $30k is too little? small companies pay their employees what they can. it's a different situation for larger companies making millions and paying their employees the same amount as a company that only makes $50k a year.

I have been advocating for this but for different reasons... If companies are paying for urine tests and we can get enough people who don't even want the job to use them just to drop the vial during handoff saying "Oopsies!" then eventually the companies will stop wasting their money on this degrading practice. Let's start a movement guys. We can do this! P.s. My favorite thing to ask the piss samplers is "so when did you find your calling?"

Best way to beat other people to a job is to just make one, I used to score more jobs by applying for a job at a company that wasn’t even advertising for a position in the first place. Chances are someone’s on the bad books and about to get fired or they need workers but haven’t posted anything yet. Works more often then you’d think

A bit careful with the always be applying. If your field of operation has few options do not burn them so easily (if you apply and reject the offer you are very unlikely to get anew one in near future). So apply .. in a moderate pace.. moderate.

Tbh, the best advice I can give young people is that mediocre employees can get a 30% raise by job-hopping while top performers will likely get 15-20% for loyalty. Learning to sell yourself as a top performer is more valuable to you than actually being a top performer.

Pro tip: if inflation is 3% to 4% (practically it can be above 10% as shown by truflation data stats) and you get a salary raise for the same 3% to 4%, you still lose money. Each of those dollars are paying a higher tax rate than your salary before that increase. Tax brackets tend to conveniently stagnate and don’t remotely increase at the same rate as inflation. Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell and many economists have explained over the decades how governments use inflation to get deeper into your pockets, from 5% average taxes in the 1920s to 40%+. Then add to that the 15% of each buy/sales transaction with the surviving $ dollars after all that.

I think this isn’t good advice for these reasons: 1- If you’re not actually unhappy with your position or salary don’t constantly applying for jobs and taking interviews is very demanding, it isn’t worth “knowing that the market wants”. 2- You will star feeling tired and doing poorly at your job because you’ll have to do these interviews during working hours (they always are) 3- that “network” will only be good for sending in your CV to dozens of those emails and looking desperate
