A friend of mine recorded a large dog growling and barking. He uses that whenever he's bothered by any noises during the night, together with mounted external lights that he can turn on instantly. The lights together with an obviously ferocious dog, has always resulted in any intruders heading for the hills, instantly.

Is it possible the light was there and you only became aware of it the following night because it was glowing then? Maybe it hadn't had enough sun exposure to have been lit up the night before. Or maybe someone came by your camp to say hi when you were in town, saw you weren't there and the light fell out of their rig while climbing out/in somehow? Weird though, be vigilant. Love your videos.

I’m thinking the bowls and plastic bins are for the desert wildlife for water maybe. 🤔The rest just seems garbage that was left behind. If me I would question myself thinking I overlooked the solar light. But that chair with the note is downright creepy as hell. I would want to pack up myself. Be vigilant. Paranoia opens our eyes and makes us pay attention. No need to run I think but stay sharp and be safe out there Steve. ✌🏻🇺🇸

Personally, I love a good mystery and would like to witness it being solved. You could always write a note and leave it on the chair and see what happens if anything. With that said, I think I would err on the side of caution and move. It would be one thing if you were with a group (safety), but solo, sometimes we have to navigate differently. -- It's only 4 days earlier than planned and you can always return at a later date if you choose to. --

I wonder if the 2 bowls were for some stray animals or coyotes. Perhaps had scraps of food in them. The plastic rectangular boxes could have had water in them. They seemed to be shaded for evaporation purposes? The light could have easily been missed by you until night when it started glowing? Was it a solar light? Interesting for sure.

It's kind of like what Grandpa used to say about gossip... when a person has too much time on their hands, they tend to zero In on things that don't make no nevermind. None of that stuff has any real value, it's clearly not an occupied campsite, and whoever left the stuff is guilty of littering. I'd just leave it at that. If you're really that curious, you got a phone number.... Of course, I've got cameras and motion detectors 😊.

The light is so that someone can find their way back in the dark. I would put the light by the chair. Then take a walk again to see if it is all gone next time. But I'm sure there is a simple explanation for the mystery. You are obviously just fine. I hope you survived the winds.

Your discomfort reminds me why I like having a dog along. A small dog is a good as a big one, because I’m not interested in having the dog attack an intruder. I just want to be alerted if someone is approaching. A dog and a strong spotlight can be pretty comforting.

That's better than hearing voices next to your tent at 2:00 am in the app mtns, which is what I experienced solo camping. You seem to have others camping around you, so I wouldn't worry to much. Get an air horn ... that freaks anyone out and grabs lots of attn for help if needed. Safe travels

I love a good mystery but to me it looks like more desert MOOP left behind by a previous adventurer. On the other hand the chair with the note is a head scratcher. Like others here I think I would have to make a call. Also those are nice bowls that would make a nice souvenir for your visit to Q. Thanks for taking your time to clean up the trash. I had a solar light that I thought had failed because it wasn't lighting up at night. I did no more than check it a few times to be sure, and one evening it lit itself up just fine, so I'm thinking its sensor was having issues. Maybe, like mine, your light was there, unnoticed, until it succeeded in lighting itself. The note in the chair is pretty weird though, could be an indirect (passive/aggressive) criticism or your cleanup work meant to make you feel uncomfortable, and if so, the light could be of the same ilk. If your gut's not comfortable, there's no harm in leaving that place behind you.

None of that stuff looks like it's been used in a while, right? That carpet didn't look recently used. All that junk is just a hidey spot for snakes. You threw away garbage that was left behind. If the chair was being used, it would be open like the one with a rock. The light may have been dropped by accident, and I think it's possible you overlooked it because it wasn't lit up during the day. Could it have fallen out of the junk you moved? Maybe your vehicle had obscured the view. The chair with the rock... now that's creepy if your are 100% certain it wasn't there before. But where would a desert dweller get clean note paper for the note... and why leave a phone number? A desert dweller is unlikely to have a cell phone. That's not from a desert dweller... maybe a practical joke. 🤔
