Dear I'll be honest, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, why is this man using a man made story to support his teaching, instead of quoting the Scriptures? Isn't he contradicting what Jesus taught his disciples? It is Man responsibility to believe and repent. We cannot blame God. The Elects believed and repented. They are very smart (by grace) compared to those going to hell. Now how to get the mindset of an Elect? What shall we do to became obedient like an Elect? How to remove our reprobate heart and became like an Elect? I believed and repented. Know this: Justification is monergistic, which means, that it is only by Gods doing that you’re justified and none of your works have added to your right standing with God. However, sanctification, the process of becoming more holy, to become more like Christ, is synergistic as seen in Philippians 2:12-13 and in Romans 8:13: „For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit (Gods work) you put to death the deeds of the body (man’s responsibility), you will live.“ God expects us to live a life pleasing to him; to live a holy life. He is able to expect that from us because He has enabled us to do so, as we are dead to sin and alive to God (romans 6:8), knowing that sin has no dominion or power over us anymore (romans 6:14), knowing that we are now free from the slavery of sin (romans 6:17;22) and knowing that we have the Holy Spirit in US who enables us to live a holy life (romans 8:13, 1Peter 1:2) I would encourage you to read through the gospel of John (especially chapter 6&10🤍), Hebrews, 1John and Romans (especially a deep study on romans 6 - it will be life-changing, trust me!) Read those passages in prayer and under the loving guidance of the Holy Spirit🤍 A book recommendation on the Christian life in terms of sanctification would be „growing in holiness - understanding Gods role and yours“ by r.c. Sproul. Rest in this: God has forgiven your sin, past, present,future. And He loves you so much to not in that slavery but to set you free from the bondage of sin. To live a life for Christ is to live a life well-lived. May God bless you deeply with His wonderful truth🤍

It's pretty simple to know if you are a Child of God...Are you obeying the word of God? Yes or no? Have you truely repented? Yes or no..A real repentence..A full turn from your sins towards God. Are you baring fruit? Yes or no..Real fruit...Are you showing fruits of the spirit? Yes or no? Are you doing the Will of the Father? Yes or no. Have you stopped being worldly? Yes or no...Tv? Radio? Do you dress sensual? Are you a drunkard..Do you smoke Ciggs? Do you do drugs? Are you fornicating and having a wild and sinful life..Are you living in sin daily? Do you willingly commit sin? These are all simple and Easy Questions..Be honest..Because you can say you are chosen and Elect all you want..If you aren't doing the Will of God..If you aren't obeying God's words..If you aren't resisting the flesh and dying to self daily..If you aren't refusing to serve the lusts of the flesh .If you aren't saying no to Sin. If you aren't different in everyway from the rest of the World..If you aren't walking the narrow path..If you havent been made new with a new set of desires that loves what God loves and despises what God despises..If you aren't drawn to the word of God..Daily..Or the things of God..If your prayer life hasn't matured and increased overtime..If you haven't been fighting the good fight and running the race ect ect ect..Well it doesn't matter how chosen you feel...It doesn't matter how many times you say You are Elect..If you are A child of God you will take on the attributes of your Father..The Holy spirit WILL produce Holiness within you..You will change in every area of Your life..If you wanna know if you are Chosen..Test yourself with the scriptures...If you are born again you will 100% stand out from everyone else around you..Even other Christians..People will know that God has done something in your life..You will be different from 90% of Christians in the world..Because 90% of them are lost and hell bound..But people will be able to see you and tell that you are different from them..You won't have to explain to people that you are Christian..They will know..You might even end up offending most Christians around you because of your love for God..You will be constantly growing in the spirit..And even though you will make mistakes..You won't struggle with those mistakes for months or years..You won't be struggling with Alcohol or Porn or fornication or drugs..The Holy spirit will give you power over these things..You will have power over sin...This is not saying that you won't make a mistake..But this is saying that you won't be willingly sinning..You won't have premeditated sin..You won't be planning out a sinful act and living in sin like the rest of the world..Now you might make mistakes that you didn't plan or didn't premeditate that you wasn't living in and those mistakes can still be sin..But it will be nothing like most Christians who watch filthy tv on purpose and enjoy it..And Fornicate on purpose and enjoy it..ect..You will have power not only to say no to these things..But it won't even be that hard anymore..God is greater and more powerful than any sin...So when God is within you he gives you power over these sins..To say no..You wanna know if you have been chosen..Then it's time to start being honest with yourself..And take a long look in the mirror..And truely Judge yourself..And you will be able to have a better idea if you are a child of God or not..I hope this has helped someone..If this has offended you...Then you should Probally start at the very first step..Which is true repentence..Turn from your sin towards God..once you have fruits showing true repentence..and if you have a real Faith in God..And You are being genuine with God in your prayers .Serious...Then things will change in your life..People get too caught up with labels..If you will just be humble and stop lying to yourself..Be honest..If you are being filthy...You are still lost..If you are living in sin..you are still lost..Just be honest..You will know if you had a life altering experience because your whole life will be altered. You will know it wasn't just emotion when your entire life changes..Want proof...? The proof IS YOU? And you will know if you are Obeying God or not..Of you have truely repented or not..If you have truely transformed or not...There will be evidences of your faith all around you in every area of your life..You will be a new Creature..And you will stand out in a spiritual sense because you will be walking in the spirit as everyone else around you is walking in the flesh..Which means you will be different and set apart..Not just in one area of your life..But in all areas..The way you talk will change..the way you act...your friends will end up not wanting to be around you as much because they won't have the same commitment you will have..Some with family..and same with most Christians around you...You will offend many people in your life just from being who you are now with your new nature..Your new nature that was given from God..It will offend just about everyone around you unless you are around other people who are Children of God and in that case you will be firing them all up and spreading Joy and peace to eachother..ok I will stop..At this point..You are either mad at me and ready to argue..And say I'm a Legalist or start to give me a lecture on works which isn't what I'm talking about..I'm talking about a new nature that is built within us that will be different..And that isn't a works based salvation..It's the Salvation that creates the new nature that sets you apart..So you are either gonna get mad and argue with me because this doesn't describe your Christianity..(because you are lost) or you will get inspired and fired up because it is close to what you have been experiencing and what your life has been like since you have been born again...Either way..God bless you .And I pray this has helped atleast someone..

How do God's sovereign grace and man's responsibility to turn to Him fit together? For example, Ezekiel 33:11 says, "As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die...?" It is clear from Scripture that He grants us repentance (Acts 5:31; 11:18), and He also gives us faith as a gift (Romans 12:3), but He then commands all men everywhere to repent and to have faith (believe). See Mark 1:15; Acts 17:30. We also read that "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13), and of cause John 3:16 says "whoever believes on Him shall not perish." Whoever means whoever.

Gods foreknowledge and good pleasure of his will The controversy is those he chose or Those he knew would repent Predestination or freewill?
@Ancient-Paths
@Ancient-Paths 2 жыл бұрын
BOTH. The Bible speaks of predestination, and the "elect" - but it also tells us that man has freewill. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." (Romans 10:9-10) When we "confess" and "believe" by our own freewill - we are saved. But how can we reconcile these two points of view? It is easy ... God predestined all those who would call on Him and believe in Him. Because of His omniscience and foreknowledge He knew "before the foundation of the world" those who would call on Him and trust in HIm - and He called them His "elect." Simples ... Don't let the dear Calvinists convince you that God predestines some to salvation but most to damnation. The truth is pure and simple.

@@Ancient-Paths Maybe you can enlighten me on the two seeds woman and serpent?
@Ancient-Paths
@Ancient-Paths 2 жыл бұрын
@@angloaust1575 In Genesis 3:15 "the seed of the woman" refers initially to redeemed humanity and then ultimately to Jesus Christ. This is the first promise of the Redeemer. On the cross Satan bruised the heel of Christ, causing His death. Bruising suggests something that was not ultimate or final. Christ died on our behalf being made sin for us (2 Cor. 5:21) and bore our judgement upon Calvary's cross. Though wounded, the damage done to Jesus was not final, for He came back from the dead three days later. Ultimately the seed of the woman (Jesus) will crush the serpent's head indicating Satan's ultimate defeat. The phrase the "seed of the serpent" does not mean the physical descendants of the Devil but rather those who are his spiritual descendants. There is no indication that Satan ever had any physical offspring. But there is an heretical teaching - the "Serpent Seed" doctrine .... were you referring to that? The Serpent Seed Doctrine explains the fall of man by stating that the Serpent mated with Eve in the Garden of Eden, and their offspring was Cain. This resulted in the creation of two races of people - the wicked descendants of the Serpent who were destined for damnation, and the righteous descendants of Adam who were destined to have eternal life. It characterises original sin as a feature of genetic inheritance rather than a spiritual condition. Mainstream Christianity teaches the belief that all individuals are the spiritual children of Satan because they were born in a state of original sin. Through Christian conversion, sinful mankind can become children of God through adoption. The serpent seed doctrine undermines the basic teachings of Christian conversion by teaching the belief that only individuals who are descended from Adam are the inherent children of God, a belief which classifies them as the only people who do not need to convert to Christianity, while the Serpent's seedline is irredeemable. See any similarities with Calvinism? At the heart of this doctrine is usually the lie that the Jews in Israel today are really the seed of Satan. This is the same doctrine that Hitler used to justify the slaughter of millions of innocent people. This doctrine has become a hallmark of most racist hate groups, neo-Nazism, antisemitism, Kenite doctrine, British Israelism, and has influenced the Pentecostal minister, William Branham, Arnold Murray, the Unification Church (Sun Myung Moon) Daniel Parker (1781-1844) leader of the Primitive Baptist Church integrated the serpent seed doctrine into Calvinist Predestination. He connected the elect with the pure seedline, and non-elect with the serpent seedline. If you are interested .... @@angloaust1575 Yes, those who will never (by their own free will) respond to God are the spiritual seed of the serpent . The seed of the woman are the "elect" - but not in the sense that they were "chosen" before they were born to be saved - whilst others were chosen for damnation. The "elect" are those whom the Lord foreknew would respond in humility and faith to His calling and believe the gospel message. With regard to Jacob and Esau - they were not predestined to salvation and damnation - they were simply chosen for service as were the whole nation of Israel. God having mercy on some and not others (for service) does not alter man's free will regarding salvation. It has always been by grace through faith. Jesus died for all mankind and all mankind has the potential to respond to God and be saved: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." (Romans 10:9-10) Israel was chosen unconditionally as the nation to bring forth the Messiah. They were not "chosen" as the "elect"for salvation. If they had been "the elect" for eternity they would not have lost their salvation, and God would not have said: “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.” (Rom. 10:21) Throughout Scripture we see God calling, and pleading with man to "come," to "repent" "to be reconciled" to Himself. "Choose this day whom you will serve." If man was too dead in sin to hear God and to respond and cry out to Him for mercy - then why is God pleading with all of us to come to Him for salvation? If we were all automatically going to be saved or damned by God - He would not need to make these gracious appeals to our consciences to consider the gospel and be saved. Of course, it is God who saves us - but we are responsible to consider His call, His appeal and to decide if we wish to accept Jesus. God's wonderful gift of free will and His magnanimous offer of free salvation to all - does not alter or affect God's sovereignty - it actually enhances it. Were Israel hardened so they could not believe? "What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened." (Rom. 11:7) No, they had chosen to harden their own hearts (as Pharaoh did) and so be lost. After we begin to harden our own hearts - God then often finishes the process. "Then you will say, branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in. That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you." (vs. 19-21). Israel lost their "elect" status because of unbelief - not because God had hardened their hearts or caused them to be damned. So their "election" was not eternal - so it could not be for election for salvation but election for service. And the Gentiles were grafted in because of their faith - not because they had been chosen by God before they were born.

If you have believed, then you are "elect" in Christ (Ephesians 1:13). You are elected in Christ by grace through faith. We aren't elected in order to believe, but we believe in order to become Children of God (John 1:12-13). We are chosen because by faith we are in the Chosen one, Christ. Current reformed theology has mistake some passages! Reconsider the reading of such verses. This is changing the gospel, something which we have been warned from by God.

@@doctor1alex the preacher tell right in the beginning what the question is: "Am I one of the elect?" His man made story underlies it. John was already"believing" and "rejoicing" in his salvation. @@Ancient-Paths yes, we know whether we are elect or not. I know. God saves His people by giving them saving faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. That's how you know. I agree that there are many unsaved so-called Christians in both camps. I trust completely in the finished work of Jesus Christ and that we are saved by God alone - and not of ourselves. However, although God is "sovereign" I do not believe He controls the lives of His creatures - and grants them the wonderful gift of free will to choose to follow Him or not. He is also magnanimous (but neither words are found in the Bible), in that He died for ALL mankind. His magnanimity is one of the most glorious of His attributes. I believe He allows us to call upon Him, and humbly cry out to Him for mercy - simply because He keeps asking us in His Word to do so - to come, to call upon Him, to be reconciled to Him, and to choose whom we will serve. If we do not have free will how can we do this? I believe that we are not so completely dead in sin that we cannot respond to the gospel in faith . Once again - why would He keep asking us to believe - if we were unable to do so? Faith, of course, is not a work - simply a response to His calling (we either believe the gospel or we reject it) - before He does the work of saving grace. Salvation is of the Lord. To the outsider these things do not sound that different - and they probably wonder why we are always arguing about them. But praise God that we can debate these issues - and when done in love it can be very profitable. God bless you.

If you are concerned about being one of the elect, then by definition you don’t trust god’s sovereignty.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 - This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 - “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice and holding fast to Him, for He is your life and length of days.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 - “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” James 4:7-8 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Revelation 22:17 - The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

Romans 8:9 KJVS [9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Galatians 4:6 KJVS [6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

..following Jesus is not the same as having faith in jesus.. ..this man has absolutely no idea how to divide the word rightly..

Genuine faith is a trust, a resting, and genuine faith produces good fruit. Jesus says His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. If someone says they have faith in Jesus, but they do not follow Jesus then their “faith” is worthless. This is what James teaches in chapter 2 of his letter.

@@doctor1alex ..you divide the word wrongly.....and you yourself have NEVER put your faith in the finished work of the cross.. ..you seem to forget that we have a flesh that lusts against the spirit causing us to do what we don't want to do..

@@cddpmpls35 Only causing us to continue to do what we don't want to do - if we fail to allow the Lord to deal with it. "But I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 7:23-25) It is the Lord that gives victory over any and every sin - not we ourselves.

@@cddpmpls35 We can "wander and still have faith in Him?" Really? "Faith" is an active word - your actions will prove if you have true saving faith or not. NO, we cannot "do anything we want and still have faith and be saved." We must "continue in the faith" in order to be saved. "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realise this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless indeed you fail to meet the test!" (2 Cor. 13:5) What faith are you thinking of? The same one the devils believe in - and tremble at? That will not save you on the last day.

@@cddpmpls35 So I am self-righteous if I say we have to walk in obedience to God? Wow. We are saved by grace alone - but even then we have to respond to God's calling in faith and repentance. Scripture clearly shows that sanctification is a joint effort - "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." We do the works - but only in and through the empowering of the Holy Spirit. We can do nothing on our own - but if we do not produce any fruit - it shows we were never saved in the first place.

Never ever is someone in the Bible elect for salvation. Never. People are elect for a purpose.

Romans 8:29-30 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
