I get really heavy periods that I can manage now as an adult but really used to struggle with. I recently found out that my younger brother, who was a teenager at the time (probably around 16) used to clean up any blood spots he noticed that I'd missed and never mentioned it so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable. If my awkward teenager little brother could manage, a grown man definitely should be able to cope with the idea of a little blood!

Second story really triggered me. Cruel humiliation and sadly will be imprinted in her memory being on a holiday. I hope she never looks back at him or his trash family (the cousin excluded). Hope the post’er uses BetterHelp to get some clarity about why his inaction and actions of his family were so cruel, damaging, and inappropriate.
@aleta58732 жыл бұрын
I keep thinking about this story. The whole family is sick and cruel, with no consideration for her feelings. To then make "ugly xmas sweaters" with her face on them. (I'm wondering if this story is even true. Or was this guy trying to get ya'll riled up? Just seems so unreal.) If it's true, I hope she walks out on him...forever.

I hope she didn’t stay with him. And that it didn’t start because he was the first guy who paid attention to her. If you have low self esteem. Sometimes you take the first guy who shows interest. And you don’t leave because you are afraid that no other guy will be interested in you. I know from first hand experience. I didn’t think I could attract ANYONE. Then I met the wrong guy and stayed for a couple years. Even though he treated me like crap because I didn’t think I could do better. Then the guy who a few years became my husband stood up for me. We were at a party and my then boyfriend was making fun of me behind my back and actually to my face. And my husband walked up to him and told him that wasn’t cool. And he should stop. I didn’t deserve to be treated this way. And then the guy made a dirty comment that as soon as he got sick of my p**sy he would drop me then he could take a poke. I was a virgin. My husband decked him. And apologized to me. Then asked if I wanted to leave. We did and dated the next 4 years. Then got married the day after we graduated from high school. That was 36 years ago. We are still happily married.

The second AITAH about the scar being made fun of is definitely a red flag. My boyfriends mom referred to me as a “princess” in a way that I need everything perfect and whenever I can I expect my boyfriend to run to me. Which is honestly not the truth because we only see each other once or twice a week due to work and school schedules. When this happened it was in a conversation between him and his mom that he after having it came to me and asked if it would offend me to be referred to a a “princess” when it’s in that light so that he can tell his family to not make comments like that about me. I have never felt so loved and validated than in that moment

Growing up, my father instructed my brother and I to wash our hands and comb our hair before we came to the dinner table. That kind of a request has stuck with me. I don't let my husband come to the table without a shirt on or with a hat on. When we had a bunch of his family members over for dinner, as we sat down I requested that all those wearing a hat to please remove it. I got some groans but they all did as requested. I wouldn't be surprised if they all talked about me behind my back about this but it is a sign of respect. Especially when your ball cap bill is covering your face. We, as Catholics, are not allowed to wear hats in the church (except for female dress hats) and even at the Legion everyone must leave their hat on the table in the entrance. Maybe it's the way I was raised (though back in those days hats at the table was not an issue as ball caps were not a 24/7 accessory back then - the 1970's) but I just cannot accept it. As you say, my house my rules. I worked hard to make a meal, keep a nice house, you can be respectful in my house.
@kassinwonderland222 жыл бұрын
How is wearing a hat disrespectful 😒 this seems like a personal issue for you that you need to lighten up a bit about. Nobody is insulting you by wearing a hat . Maybe they are wearing a hat because it makes them more comfortable. Unless it's a fancy dinner party, this is a really stupid personal issue that has to do with your religious upbringing and is sounding straight of the 1950s.
@patriciagallant81332 жыл бұрын
@@kassinwonderland22 Sorry, but this is the way I was raised. I was raised in an era when people were more respectful... example is we called our elders Mr. or Mrs. Call me old fashioned but heck, I'm close to being a senior citizen.
@kassinwonderland222 жыл бұрын
@@patriciagallant8133 seriously? I've seen so many senior citizens who are less respectful to others than the younger generation is to them. You could learn to be a little more understanding and try compromising with people. This sounds like a my way or the highway situation. Also respect is not something that should automatically be given. It's earned with time

The second story made me think of how one time when me and my boyfriend were just starting to date his uncle made a comment to the degree of “are you babysitting today?” I have a baby face. I look 12 but I’m 21 at the time I was 19. I tried to laugh it off but my boyfriend took offense and yelled Spanish cuss words at him as we were leaving. I didn’t even realize until we left the party that the uncle was insinuating that my boyfriend was dating me because I look like a child, also meaning my boyfriend was into kids. I’m not sure I’ve seen that uncle of his since. I’m super happy he stood up for me even when I didn’t realize the situation

I LOVE JOY SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!! And I just need to comment on the AITA (period) The guy who placed sheets on his furniture when his girlfriend was on her period. I don't think he understands how they work. My first REAL boyfriend was weirded out by periods. He truly just didn't understand how they worked. And what really happens, he literally thought it was like a tsunami down there. He thought from the moment it started until the end it was that strong a flow. He didn't understand how I didn't know when my period started sometimes. And was mistafied when I told him on a average day you only bleed like a Tablespoon worth of blood. And on the heavy days it was like a Tablespoon per hour. He had no clue what a tampon or pad looked like (back then those were the only 2 options us ladies had). He thought that was why I took iron supplements. So I literally gave him a full lesson on how periods worked and what they were like, and what I had to do to take care of it. I taught him how to put a tampon in and what toxic shock was. His Mom walked out on the family when he was little. He was something like 3 or 4 when she walked out on him. So he wasn't around any woman to find out anything about females. And his Dad never told him anything either. We stayed friends after we split up. We were together less then 2 years. But he is married and ha kids and now grandkids. Every time I see his wife she thanks me for educating him on it, and wiping out his dumb ideas.
