The constant stink/side eyes that Amanda and Wooly give to each other during the short pauses is so amusing, like they're just so fed up with each other. I appreciate you guys in just using a guide at the end. Those puzzles involved in finding the tapes that you missed were so obscure. Still don't know what to make of that Herd of Mouth video, definitely weird. Rebecca unwittingly chanting those demon names was definitely creepy.

the "Herd of Mouth" video is just a joke from the devs with the phrase "heard of mouth" my assumption is that a dev posted something about how they "found" it in game files to spark everything and a side note, when you DO use the tape in the game, you can't end it. it's a softlock. sorta a joke to the devs to prevent people from looking in game files to solve the puzzles and ruin the fun.

Hanln is a reference to the Pied Piper. It’s the town he goes to. Its symbol is also a rat, what the Piper is hired to get rid of. And lastly, the Piper has his revenge by stealing the towns children. Much like how the show stole a kid away from her home.

the stag crown is also a symbol commonly seen around pagan rituals. you see it often enough as a trope in demonic/pagan/satanic horror movies as part of the plot to give birth to a demon incarnate. the stag is "the horned god" (of fertility), i believe.

Sometimes, you keep the strangest of information locked in your subconscious. I think Amanda's "I'm still out there... somewhere" wasn't supposed to be a threat. I think it meant that her (Rebecca's )physical body is still being kept somewhere while her mind/soul is trapped in the show. We also know that Rebecca was adopted by seemingly single father Sam and even though the live action TV show was a hit, it was still a very local thing. I think Rebecca was the true heir to that crown which is why Hameln was so eager to "make an adaptation". It wasn't about the show, it was about having access to Rebecca and her power. There's a seemingly random reference to the new flower shop owner in town in that coffee chat, I'd be willing to bet that the flower shop owner was one of that thieves gang/cult/Hameln member scoping them out.

This SGS was so much fun, the thought process and figuring out the puzzles. One the best ones yet! I still miss the 12 series episodes of scary games too but I’ll take this!

I ascribe to the theory that Rebecca’s soul is in the show and wooly is there to keep here trapped and on track with what Hamlin wants, only after he was gone did she reveal that Hamlin killed her, it’s why during the rot one she said I feel like I’m rotting and why she said she was out there waiting, she was waiting for someone to go out and find her corpse. That’s also why we can do so many Easter eggs involving Rebecca’s life and why she talks/reacts in certain ways, she misses her adoptive dad which is why she says daddy that way in the farm vid and why using his name gets a colored tape), why she freaked out so much when you refused to help the lonely kitten (she’s the lonely kitten after Hamlin killed her dad and took her), why during the rot alt vid you can’t save the cat and why it says times up (no one saved her in time). Everything points to Amanda being trapped in there with wooly forcing her to do these things, it’s why she hates him so much.

this is such a good theory! I was wondering like halfway through the playthrough if they'd start playing against wooly. I'm so surprised Jesse didn't call him a red herring in classic Jesse fashion! but this theory would also help to answer the question about the weird interrogation room to sign the contract. And also maybe the article about the fae! Like maybe hamlin are the "fae" that kidnap and replace children. random sidenote, this theory is so haunting and sad and made me think of Ethel Cains album "preachers daughter"

Wiki says SGS missed an ending, sort of. After getting the secret tapes, the ending "The End" (in which the sun rises) continues a bit longer, "a thump from behind shows a masked figure has entered the attic, ending the game on a cliffhanger. This ending is canon, leading to" the second game.
