December 17, 1996. The Los Angeles Lakers visited The Chicago Bulls in Chicago Illinois.
It was Kobe Bryant's 1st lesson on guarding Michael Jordan, The G.O.A.T took it easy on Kobe, the game itself was incredible...
This night had everything, a hyped crawd, dunks, blocks, OT, clutch shots, heated moments etc
Players that stepped up. Toni Kukoc, Randy Brown, Dereck Fisher & "The Worm" Dennis Rodman

Yeah its basically a shooting practise into zone nowdays.. This was a real basketball with a real defence like fullcourt defense by chicago and it was so effective and fun to watch. Also centers were centers and they werent standing on a 3 point line like today.

1985 to 2005 were twenty years of the greatest professional basketball ever played. Players in the 70's like Dr. J and Moses Malone planted the seeds for the talent that would sprout in the 80's in the form of players like MJ, Bird, and Magic. From there, the 90's would produce all-stars like Kobe, Shaq, J-Kidd, AI, KG, and Tim Duncan. The early 2000's saw the arrival of D-Wade, Lebron, and CP3, but the quality of the league started to slide not long after. Presently, I don't watch the NBA like I used to; it's just not as exciting as it once was.

@haroldbenton979
@haroldbenton979 Жыл бұрын
There was a reason why they were called the Doberman Defense in the late 90's and the key person of it was Randy Brown. That guy when put into a game he was to find the guy trying to bring up the ball to the frontcourt and literally hound him like a dog. If he needed help Scottie and MJ had his back and it became LOCKDOWN on your butt. Buchler off the bench wasn't that bad of defender either. But your lockdown defense scheme had Rodman Jordan Pippen Brown and Kukoc out there. Tony was underrated as a defender. He was long lanky and quick on the perimeter to cover say the worst shooter on the floor for the enemy. Rodman was in the paint banging their big man and playing shutdown on his guy. Pippen and Jordan took their guys 1v1 and Brown was just a monster defender. He was about the only one that in practice could slow down MJ. There is a reason why he was on all 3 of the second 3 peat teams. He knew how to defend and do his job well.

@@zihuatenejo by that logic, Celtics and Bucks should’ve beaten the Miami Heat. Back in this era, switching wouldn’t be needed and you could keep your man in front of you. If these “plays” (shooting threes) end up not going through the hoop, it’ll be a beat down
@zihuatenejo
@zihuatenejo Жыл бұрын
@@OP_-pk9hm this year the warriors fell short but let's not discredit them. The warriors with KD era was a force to reckon with and I'd bet my ass on them over the outdated Bulls. Basketball has evolved over the years, you can try the man on man defense all you want but with how the warriors are setting up their plays with screens and collective scoring , it will be too difficult to outscore them. When the bulls just do 2 points per possession with midrange shooting compared to the warriors 3.
