Amazing Flight to Hawaii, Tahiti, Bora Bora - Pilot VLOG 082

Here is the second installment of our Pacific trip in the Gulfstream. After a few amazing days in Maui, we pressed South to Tahiti, then a quick hop to Bora Bora. Unfortunately, the Bora Bora landing was at night, but we'll have plenty of awesome footage to come!

What a nice flight with Presidential 69! Thanks fella's for another dream flight on that beautiful G-IV! Visited those island many years ago on a cruise ship with my parents.Dad was a Merchant Marine and they dropped off av gas at the tank farm we built way back when. His tanker made several runs through the islands during the war and always loved going back. So much of a paradise!

Really fantastic flight, Guys. Thanks for sharing sites on Maui. Great landing in Tahiti, Shaun. Enjoyed the live stream from Bora Bora, although I missed it live. But, I watched the after-the-fact video. Going to all those South Pacific islands has to be an event of a lifetime. I’m amazed that you guys could understand the ATC guys at Tahiti. I could hardly understand them. Anyway, it must be really nice to stay in those bungalows on the water. Boy, their WiFi is pretty crappy, though, but what we saw was better than nothing. The audio was fine. Hope the entire flight was uneventful, but I’ll bet you guys were ready to be home. Can’t wait to see the videos from the flight home from Bora Bora. Until then, Fly Safe, and Happy Landings.

malanga13 I asked Shaun similar question in another video and if I remember correctly that had to do with showing the reverse thrusters deployed and functioning properly....I'm sure he will answer your question better than I and correct me of I got it wrong, but until then hopefully you can get some rest until then lol.

HAHA...The 6 lights are for the thrust reversers being fully deployed. I'm going to record a Tech video on this very soon to show all the lights.

Yeah Buddy, this had all the bells & buzzers. Sorry Shawn, but your falling in the water was " instant Karma's gonna get you" when you were hoping Jon would fall in the creek at Big Sur. In Bora Bora, I was surprised at the light the burning coconuts made for runway lighting. Nice marathon.

That view of the instruments is just fine regarding the discussion about it. Cutting out the PFD magnified a bit picture in picture with the camera looking out the front would me my favorite view for final approach or SIDs. But that's a lot of work i guess so don't worry about it and props for these great videos.

Went to Maui on our honeymoon with my wife. Wonderful place to visit. Great vibes, chill people, kinda expensive but worth every penny!! Good vid guys👍

Great Hawaii video. The road to Hana is absolutely beautiful. I remember the hundreds of small curves. Might be difficult for folks prone to motion sickness. Looking forward to the rest of the video from this trip.

This has quickly become my favorite channel. Your videos are a perfect balance of the “life” as well as the technical bits. Hope you continue for a long time. That was a sweet ride!!! You were right Shaun, the runway at Bora Bora was narrow and dark....sounds like the PX's in the back didn't care and were happy to be there...LOL. Also I thought English was the international language of flying, but I guess not. Wife and I are in the early planning stages of a South Pacific vacation...this put me in the mood.

It's definitely a very cool area! The next video shows a little more of Bora Bora...should be out in a few days. English is the international language for ATC, but it's very common to hear controllers and pilot speaking the country's official language.

Yeah...the accidental swim seems to be the highlight of the video. I'm glad everyone is getting a good laugh. I certainly did. The ATC into Bora Bora was very little, that's why I opted for the fast forward. Once the sun went down, the video was gone as well.

It also doesn't detract at all from that beautiful drone footage you got, which gives one the experience of flying like a bird..something I would love to do in a area like that. I knew you would slip into the water ! Drone film of Hana highway was great. Lindbergh's grave is up at the seven pools in Hana. Next time you are in Maui, if the weather is good do the sunrise bike ride down Haleakala, it is awesome.

When I was stationed in Hawaii back in the early 80's, Maui was mine and my wife's preferred weekend getaway destination. Love that banyan tree in Lahaina! The old seaport is truly not to be missed. You should've gone up to Haleakala to see the sunrise! Holy crap! That is truly one of the most beautiful sights in the whole world. Don't remember how I found your vlog but I truly enjoy all of your videos. Keep up the good work!

Hello Sean and John, what does the "plus twenty" callout mean shortly after V2? My guess is that it's the rotation speed plus twenty? Thanks and loved the video and your guy's dedication to the channel.

It's actually V2 plus 20. That's the Gulfstream recommended speed for flap retraction.
