As a black man in America, but not historically black. I'm originally from Eritrea, Africa and our diet is nothing like the diet that black Americans developed here. Nonetheless, I have been around native black Americans my whole life. I can already tell by the way these Koreans are making this chicken what it will taste like. I suppose if you've never had fried chicken in a way that will make you question your existence. This "fried chicken" in Korea fits the bill. What makes the stereotypical "fried chicken" so amazing is the culture and the indigenous herbs and seasoning that southern Americans (I say Southern because even though fried chicken is a black American thing. There are some historical white families in the south that make styles of fried chicken that if you were blind there is no way you believe a white woman made that chicken) use. I hope Koreans develop and evolve a type of fried chicken in South Korea where a culture of herbs and blends are required to make fried chicken a staple Korean dish. From watching this and seeing how they are making this, there is nothing about it that would give it a signature taste. Once again, if you've never had anything else in the style of fried chicken like how it can be made (the southern states of America). This fried chicken will seem like the world to you. That's the beauty of distance and isolation. Korea is very far from the rest of the world. Advantage, and disadvantage, today though? BIG ADVANTAGE! Dolla-dolla bills yaw!!
