Thank you to SquareSpace for sponsoring this video! After traveling to Toronto for work, I decided to stay for the weekend and visit the sights and eateries in this great city. And as luck would have it, I discovered a one of a kind Portuguese Seafood buffet tucked away in Mississauga, a city within the Greater Toronto Area.
Having never really tried Portuguese cuisine, aside from the fried Bacalhau croquettes, I was curious to sample and try all the dishes and what better way to do so than at a buffet! At $65 CAD for the meal, I was expecting too much; some fish, shell fish, and a few crustaceans here and there... Little did I know that I was in for a treat! Unlimited fresh lobster, king crab, were the eye catching items, but just as good if not better were the comforting Portuguese staples - Gigantic grilled shrimp, warm hardy baked cod and other delectable stews of seafood. This is truly a seafood lovers delight! Ahh, and the unknown, but tasty dish shown in the video? That was the classic comfort dish known as Bachalhau!
And of course, along with the great food was the great people there. Great servers and hosts, and a festive atmosphere from the guests and I can understand why. And a note about this buffet...this is probably the least publicized buffet I've encountered! There's no mention of this on their website! Simply by chance upon calling up the Portuguese restaurant for dinner inquiries did I learn of such a buffet. A true hidden gem!

Hi Tim...nice to see you again...Thx for bringing us to another great buffett 👍...this buffett for $65 CAN was worth every penny...think I died and went to heaven 🤗...all the seafood looked amazingly appetizing, and yes those were king crab legs (prickly), snow crab legs are flat and smooth...they normally don't serve king crab legs at a seafood buffett unless it's an extremely expensive one...safe travels and God Bless you my friend 😘🤗💙

This makes me miss my portuguese grandmothers cooking. The little cod cakes you had are a staple in portuguese food. They are amazing hot or cold and particularly when you are drinking. The only thing I did not see was the little pastries like you tried first we make some with tuna inside and some with a shrimp mixture inside which I think is the one you had. Lovely video as always. I’ve been and it’s WOW, caution to lovers of “only hot” buffets, a lot of the dishes here are cold or Luke warm. It’s not because they aren’t heated, but because that’s how they’re served. The night I went, the lobster and crab were stone cold. I personally prefer seafood cold but not everyone does. Buyer beware. A great hidden gem. If you’re a seafood lover you will enjoy the food and the price. For land lovers... they have great steaks. I haven’t tried them though. I’ve been twice for lunch and had the grilled sea bass and then grilled something else on the other visit. Both wonderful fish dishes with piles of veggies as well. Large meals! Yum!and... very fresh bread to accompany your meal. You won’t be disappointed. No way. Thx Tim!

Hi I'm Portuguese.... That dish you didn't know that you said it was potatoes with sea food... It's "açorda" and it's made with bread from the day before... It is a way we don't waste old bread and can be made simple with garlic olive oil and cilantro... And you can add anything.

@@TimLeeLetsGo Sorry there is no translation to English that I know...it's a bread soup. Portugal was one poor country, even now... So that dish was invented to utilize what was available... Usually every home had bread ...some times there were used eggs or "chouriço" a type of sausage but sea food was because half of Portugal is sea coast.

LoL..if there was one issue I had, yes, the blue disco lights would have been it 😆... but that was mainly for the video, and it did make it tough.. 😉

Same here Michelle, not too familiar with Portuguese cuisine, but I can certainly get used to this...limited veggies, lots of seafood, what's not to like?! 😉
