Gonna constantly post this request to get Jamel to watch two minutes to late nights cover of "Anthem" by RUSH. It's Les Claypool, Danny Carey, Claudio Sanchez from Coheed, and Cambria Bill Kelliher of Mastodon, and the host and showband guitarist for two minutes. Talk about a 99.999% flawless cover of any cover ever heard. I can't suggest this song vehemently enough.

I was at this show. It’s Bonnaroo 2002. Blazing heat first day of the festival. The of this solo hits and a jam kicks back in. The energy in that field was the strongest I’ve ever felt ever. It was the birth my music industry career that day. Moved home, enrolled in college shortly after and started putting on my own concerts. The solo means more to me than anyone. It was the catalyst for my whole adult life.

Oh yes! This was Col. Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade performing a cover of King Crimson's "Thela Hun Ginjeet." This was at the first annual Bonnaroo Music Festival 2002! I was there! Later that weekend Les performs in another amazingly crazy band lineup - Col. Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains: Les, Buckethead, Bernie Worrell and Brain! That was some freaky funky stuff going down! Whew! There is a DVD set of the first Bonnaroo Music Festival out there! PEACE!

I thought so, as soon as he started playing that line near the end. You GOTTA check out King Crimson's 'Thela Hun Jingeet' now, asap, brother J, studio AND live, with the great Tony Levin, whether on bass or Chapman stick ( a 10 string instrument, bass in the middle of the pack, fretted with both hands). Can't recall if or when I've seen a bass with a whammy bar before, though he didn't appear to use it here. I gotta check out more Lennon/Claypool Delirium too, and I saw some great stuff not long ago with Sean (Lennon) and Tal Wakenfield, who played great bass with Jeff Beck for years. So much music, so little time, luv ya, man, all the best, Peace and Love.

In 1991 I was a young aspiring bass player. I heard rumors about this crazy guy the played bass like no one else. So I went out and bought Sailing the Seas of Cheese. The first time I heard Tommy the Cat I almost quit playing bass right then and there. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This dude sounded like he had ten fingers and three thumbs on each hand. Luckily instead of quitting, I decided to be inspired by him. I’m still no where near the bassist Les Claypool is but he’s inspired me to be the best bassist I could be. Thanks, Les!
