Re this "reaction" video - As an aspiring grant writer, I appreciate your commentary on this grant proposal. To me, this "puppies" proposal reads almost like a routine exchange/update between long-time organizations where continual funding is essentially assured. I did find it curious there was no commentary about the poor writing, with its run-on sentences and other grammar issues. Also, why was the $16500 salary number XXXX'd out? I'd like to see more "reaction" videos, but geared more towards the more comprehensive proposals where specific instructions must be followed regarding format, documentation, etc. "Reaction" videos analyzing rejected/disqualified proposals may also be helpful. Thanks for what your are doing, and for your consideration.

Thanks for your thoughts here! Not sure why some info might have been XX'ed out in the docs I shared from other sources, perhaps they felt it was a privacy thing, not sure! I do have some other videos on grantwriting that may be helpful too that dive into some of the things you mentioned.

Happy Tuesday. Thank you so much for this information. The proposal was good, and your feedback was excellent. Adding headers and sections to the proposal would make your proposal stand out. Maybe they should have added a few more success stories to the proposal. I hope to retire after 30 years in the child welfare system. I am strongly thinking about starting a non-profit organization, for parents with special need children. My son has special needs, and I wanted to give back in an impactful way. Thanks again ❤

Great information, Amber. Especially about the headers and placing the request in the first paragraph. The one thing I’d likely do differently is adding bulleted benchmarks for the program so the successes or challenges are more measurable. This does a few things, as you know: Keeps the org on track to live out the Grant properly; let’s the foundation see succinctly what’s deemed a success; and finally, it helps breakup the narrative so the eyes see a different flow. Great information, once again. Thanks!

Great video thanks! I've seen mostly grant proposal writers working with evaluation and data analysis to understand the organization and its current program to develop a grant proposal. Is this the work you do? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks! VB

That's one way to approach things, surely. Storytelling is another - combining those two (storytelling and evaluation) is super powerful!
