no not really, if you cared about benchmarks then sure but realistically it didn't effect that much. it was mostly related to how the cores would go in and out of their parked state at idle. the first 2 generations they were significantly slower(1-2 seconds) and heavily effected benchmark scores. zen 2 it was pretty much instantanious because they never went into a completely off state. as long as you've been updating your chipset drivers then it really doesn't matter what power profile you used.

While the numbers look better and he did state why(the advantage in core/thread count which gave the lead in multi-core/multi-threaded performance), you can take away the fact that you don't need a Ryzen 7 to get almost the same amount of performance. I am glad to see AMD back on top for the first time in forever (Sings frozen). In all seriousness I will continue to use my 9900K and whole heartedly believe that Intel will take 2-3 years to catch up and surpass again, but with a much tighter fight like intel fought with itself gen to gen only between two companies for years after that. AMD not only has the performance title but in terms of random niche software and optimization still has some way to go for 100% trust in all markets(Which is rapidly changing). Call me old but I can wait for forums with random one of issues that come and go full of people on AMD equipment to either stop existing, or obviously be rare cases to go away. This is also dependent on Intel to just come back out with something meaningful. Either way in 2-3 years ill be pulling the trigger and doing a full system upgrade. This will be depending on brand trust, compatibility, IPC, hopefully DDR5 matured with PCIE 4.0 starting to be used on the GPU side of things as well for 4.0 to matter outside of storage in all honesty. This is me planning on replacing my 3080 by then to something maybe using above x16 of 3.0 as a 3090 does not either. There are my random assortment of cents, Nickels, and Dimes that really have no impact on anything lol.

I upgraded from my 5GHz 2500k a few months ago, got a 10700k now sitting at 5.1GHz. It was a fairly noticeable improvement, but I use 2x 4K screens and games like MW, FC5 were taxing the old CPU in-turn bottle-necking my 1080Ti. If you're at less than 4K or just generally at 60Hz, I would keep waiting with the 2500K unless there is something specific you need a minor boost on. I definitely get more frames now, but functionally there is barely any difference. It's just a lot smoother, and really it was pretty smooth before. I could have put the money towards a better GPU and got more performance that matters to me for less cost. Definitely worth trying a new gen GPU before a CPU unless you need 120+FPS or want ultra graphics at 4K 60

Don't get me wrong I know amd is better right now, but people act like running Intel is the worst thing ever :)), at least I can prepare everything for when my gpu arrives. It's already oc to 5ghz, and I'm half way through with my game library being download. With some luck, next week I'll be getting the gpu as well. fingers crossed.

It's important to note that as of the release of this video, the 10700K is $70 more expensive than the 5600X. That's a 35% price increase.
@EmblemParade4 жыл бұрын
@@kunstderfugue Good point, it's still a trade-off at certain price points. Also in the past AMD was also not always cheaper and consequently had poor value. It will be interesting to see what happens to prices in, say, 3 months.

@@kunstderfugue Not really. If you go for the 10700kf (why wouldn't you go for the kf, do you need the integrated graphics?) it costs only $20 more than the 5600x where i live. That's not a big difference at all.

I would say both are good for your tasks, but with AMD you have more options to upgrade into better stuff in future than Intel,also i think AMD uses less power for same performance.At the end of the day it depends what better prices you can find and what's better for your gaming or streaming and other tasks.
