I wanted an Amex charge card so I settled for the Gold card. Stunningly beautiful. MRCC looks so dull in front of Gold. I have decided to use the Gold card for all offline spends wherever Amex is accepted.

@@dugarniraj Of course ! You are cent percent right. But the metal one card is not Amex so it doesn’t give that feel. I use SC Ultimate card also because of its stunning looks. And Amex and Stanchart have a brand value which OneCard doesn’t

I took the platinum charge just before the SHANGRI LA offer was withdrawn. Because of this I have TAJ gold tier status valid till Dec 2023 ,gets upgrade in Taj for most of the stays.-( warmer welcome taj& shangri la..) will keep the card until then. otherwise platinum charge is completely disappointing this year.

I also have it. Taj gold. Not much of a use. Taj doesn’t give you upgrades in palace properties. Mostly sold out.

Don’t think it would be possible from first year. You need to check.

There have been cases of targeted offers with monthly fee from first year as well, but in that case welcome benefit is also given in parts in the same proportion.

Got an offer to upgrade to Infinia metal with 12.5K annual fee. But I have PVC Infinia LTF already. So deciding against the so called upgrade.

Just got a mail from the bank. They have agreed to make the Infinia metal first year free. But since the present card is LTF, I am still having two minds. But they may add additional features in the metal card in future.

Cancelled mine yesterday. For renewal, they offered 40k taj vouchers or 80k MR points or monthly option for fees.

Isn't 40k taj voucher as renewal good offer? You would get 10k taj voucher as b'day benifit. Even if you travel once (domestic) to a taj property you could save about 25k (25% of ₹100000). This totals to ₹75k. You have recovered the fees. Anything above this is extra savings, ex: salon benifits, household electronic items repair benifit, travek benifit (₹30k taj voucher by spending ₹100000), Easy Diner annual membership (worth ₹3500₹, etc. i am really considering this card as it is easy to recover the annual fees, ansd more.

These are all things you don’t need. Taj has limited properties. The best ones won’t even get you 2 nights. Rest salon etc are things you can manage without.
