American Horror Story: A drama series that slightly exaggerated and pokes fun at the horror tropes while having the story being well-written and having believable and/or likeable characters. Even having some satire added into each season to remind us that comedy, drama and horror can exist together. American Horror Stories: An outright parody of the series and that doesn't realise it while trying way too hard to be edgy or funny.

Okay if this were me making the episode, I would definitely keep the bros and the killer Santa. I would make it so that there's a copycat killer Santa, making it relate back to Asylum. And these bros are trying to find the Santa and they decide to film it for views. They go to every mall and harass the mall Santa's until they unknowing mess with the wrong one, the killer Santa. And that's when the Santa tracks them down and kills them all. How to make it so that you have sympathy for them: make one of the bros the voice of reason after they harass a mall Santa too far. Or he could just not like the idea of trying to find the killer and definitely not like all the other bros harassing people. And he gets more adamant about it each time a video is posted. That bro ultimately killed in the end because he was in the house with all the other bros. It still has the social commentary and it ties back to the main AHS. Thank you for reading my rambling.

Thank you for pointing out how overburdened Coto was at this time, trying to write so many air-quality episodes in such a short amount of time; obviously quality was bound to suffer. As much as other people say otherwise and despite Lord’s sort of “anti-charisma” deadpan acting, which she does mine a lot deeper as this character in this episode, I didn’t think “Ba’al” was all that, extra napkins and a bag of chips, either. I liked it more upon a rewatch, but watching it as it aired my appraisal was, for sure, “meh” 🤷‍♀️ and you could see all the source material it was ripping off practically storming through the scenery. (Will come back when I finish the video; just wanted to jot down some first thoughts.) EYA: Oooo! It’s always awesome to have Cain’s encyclopedic knowledge of AHS help us weave in the way these “stories” eps link up to the mother series; I’d forgotten about the “Apocalypse” Bubbles film-within-a-film Santa murder flick 🤶🎅🔪 Didn’t forget about the “Asylum” deadly Santa stuff w/ Lee Emerson, though, 😱 ! Good ‘memba berries! I guess I liked this episode, at the time, for how much it resmed out Breadtubing look at me’s like Logan Paul and his imitators; they were a worthy target. I’ve always thought Hollywood writer’s guild members have many axes to grind against reality tv and its demon offspring, KZbinrs and people who achieve online fame eclipsing regular TV stats without having to rely on someone else’s plots and scripts. I always thought this episode was a way for Manny and the like to enact a little professional “revenge.”

I think the *only* AHStories episode that I enjoyed was the one with the Ring cameras. The plastic surgery cult thing was kind of fun too. But also this being the writer of the second half of Double Feature makes...way too much sense.
