True but to be fair those fans in the video are basically football fans who support basketball team because it bears the same name as their football team.. In Europe we have franchises, for example FC Barcelona is a football club but the franchize also has a team in basektball,futsal,handball.. The fans seen in the video are Gate 7 of Olympicacos,Delije of Red Star Belgrade and Grobari of Partizan Belgrade..

You have to understand, the atmosphere is like this before the game, during the game and after the game nonstop, these fans are constantly chanting and don't sit down for 3-4 hours, for important games they're literally chanting like this 2 hours before the game already.

At these games the oposent team isn't allowed to visit. The rivalry between the teams would be to much and un controllable. These supporters are the same as football supporters. It's the same clubs. To have them together inside a building would be asking for a cluster fuk.

What you might not realise is that every set of fans in this video are actually football fans who also 'represent' their Club at other sports, including basketball. They are not just turning up as individuals to 'enjoy' a day out watching the game, they are incredibly well organised, they follow their own strict rules and to them this is not about having fun, it is very serious and the songs they sing have meaning and real passion. The difference between the American audiences is that while they might sing along to music played through the speakers or even sing songs from time to time, they are doing it as individuals, not as part of a highly organised mob. The teams shown include Aris & Panathanaiakos from Greece & Red Star from Serbia, what you are seeing are the main 'ultras' groups or firms who are football fans, this is why they are so well organised and loud.

You have to understand the context behind this type of atmosphere. It's not about the sport itself, it's about the history and pride of belonging somewhere. In European leagues, teams don't move from place to place like they do in the US. Something like what the Dodgers did would be impossible for it to happen here in Europe. The team is intrinsically connected to the town in which it's located and like everywhere here in Europe, history runs really, really deep. To put it into perspective, I live in Lisbon, the second oldest capital city in Europe which has been continuously inhabited since the 8th Century BC. Rivalries between towns/countries go back to thousands of years, they were once fought on the battlefields, but now are now being "fought" on the courts/pitches/fields. Even in the lowest ranks of organized sports, we're talking about really small town teams, rivalries between certain teams can get hectic enough to warrant police intervention at every game.

Every team on the Eorpean side here are sports club. So the ultras you'll find at football matches you'll find at basketball games, waterpolo, handball, volleyball, etc. They support their teams regardless of the sport. Or even age group & gender. Aris who were first shown for Europeans, before a football game I remember seeing a video of them going a girls volleyball game for like their U15 during the day to support them before their football game later that night.

flares and cannons are not allowed in europe either, but somehow it always finds its way to stadium. one of my friends worked as a security at some of the matches, both basketball and football. said the ways people smuggel them to stadium are insane. it is crazy too see some extremly hompphobic guys to stuckup flares or cannons up their behinds to smuggel them into.. most of fans in every sports are also football fans, it all depdnes about the league and the match, if it is domestic match among domestic tams, atmpshere is not so high up, but international teams or when representatins play like country vs. country atmoshpere goes up to sky. from where i come almost every game with serbia, does not matter wich sport is considered high risk match, coz of our past we share. in europe a lot of matches often are charged with politicals current events, history, some kind of rivaly...

I'm a Bucks fan from Europe and after the chip in 2021 I was totally disappointed with the US fans. When your team is the worst for years and then you win a title after 50 years, the city burns!!!!
