It started life as 'Boots The Chemist'. It has a pharmacy, but also sells a wide range of toiletries and cosmetics and so on. Also has tiptoed into foods for people with food intolerances and diabetes etc. Love from the UK

A Singaporean friend of mine visited London earlier in December it was her 2nd visit after 25 years & she said "Hands down my favorite city".

@maudeboggins9834 London isn't that great! She would have seen better sights away from London like our perfect countryside, very old buildings spread around our village's & town's! Castle is definitely worth visiting. it's a lot cheaper than London

@@stephenparsons-st6lp you’re assuming she was there for the sights… Maybe she enjoyed it for other reasons? The museums, markets, pubs etc 🤔

@@stephenparsons-st6lp Fortunately my friend visited the Cotswolds & thought it lovely, she loves the English countryside & told me of Ellen de Generes having moved there, but she was talking about cities, & she felt London, in her opinion was her favorite. Wishing you a happy 2025

When I lived in London in the 90's I would go to the street market once in a while & I would hear the people on the stalls saying "If this doesn't fit you love, bring it back & I'll eat it"! I would laugh at their banter with the customers.

Boots was founded in the 1850s, now a major all-around beauty store and chemist. We've had contactless for many years, but covid really brought it forward. See you next time honeybunch. XX

I hope you are having a lovely Christmas and that you have a happy 2025. Keep making the videos. I hope that you do manage to visit the UK soon. I think you will notice that Jamaicans have a lot more in common with us than people in the USA. You have the benefit of being able to see it from both those angles!

I can’t remember the last time I used cash to shop, or my card, in fact. It’s all done through tapping my phone (or watch) on the ‘tap to pay’ at the counter. In fact, the only ‘cold, hard cash’ I keep in the car is the pound coin for the shopping trolley (I keep FORGETTING to retrieve it, so I keep a few pound coins around just for that!

Once out of London, do not rely on tapping a card Always make sure you have a certain amount of cash. Personally, I only use a card to withdraw the money I need for the week and use the cash for all purchases. Much easier to budget that way. Cash is king!!
@Chris_GY16 күн бұрын
What a load of crap you are saying you can tap a card anywhere in the country. You should try travelling northwards in the country and keeping your eyes wide open Instead of staying down south.

@Chris_GY1 If that's aimed at me, I live 9 miles south of the Scottish border. I know of a number of places that are cash only, one of them just 150yards away and that's in the centre of Carlisle. 2 hotels I use, 1 is cash only the other only accepts cards for payments over a certain amount. As I said, always make sure you have some cash with you.

The boots card, most stores do the, from grocery to electrical, its a free card you get, as you spend, you get points, usually between 1 and 5, of your spend, these then turn in cash by usuing your points, usually 1 point equals 1p, a bit like air miles

Next time you're with your friend, or any other American friends, ask her to say in her best English accent "beer can" and see if you think it sounds little like "bacon" in a Jamaican accent, but don't tell them the Jamaican bit till they say Beer can in a English accent first
